I had a blast and the horses are super sweet and well trained!!! It was a great experience. It was my first time and I was riding like a semi-pro, kind of lol. Wish the session was longer but we came late and the next students were present. Don’t ask dumb questions like I did for instance why does this horse have scratches… The horses here are rescue horses duhhhh! Any how my only complaint is it didn’t last long enough but we’re to blame. I am definitely going back!

My daughter attended the Beginner English/Western Camp at the Healing Horse Ranch. Weeks before the camp we visited the Ranch and Katie(the owner) gave us a tour and answered all of my questions. She was very friendly & professional. The camp was a great experience for my 7 year old daughter. She learned so much(like tying a slip knot, professional terms regarding the anatomy of horses,…) and impressed us every day with her new knowledge. She was able to attend trail rides and was given lessons in Western & English Style. The staff at the Ranch was very friendly and made sure the kids had a good time. The remaining time of the camp the children were kept busy & entertained with swimming in the pool(on the premise) and doing fun crafts(like painting horseshoes). Based on this great experience I decided to sign up my daughter for private riding lessons at the Healing Horse Ranch. Prior to finding the Healing Horse Ranch I visited other places in the Dripping Springs area that offer riding lessons but none of the places impressed me enough to sign my daughter up for their programs or classes(did I mention that I’m really picky? ;-)) I can definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for their children to have a great experience and learn.

I had a terrible experience with Healing Horse Ranch. Prior to booking the lesson for my kids, I told the instructor on the phone that they were experienced riders and I wanted to make sure they would be going on a trail ride and not be stuck in the ring. She told me she would wait and make that determination after watching them ride. They got on the horses in the ring and the horses barely moved. The lesson was a complete waste of time and money. My kids sat on these horses that didn’t want to move and when they did get them to move then it was at a very slow pace and only a few feet before they stopped again. This went on for an entire hour. The session was supposed to be a lesson, but my kids did not learn anything new. They were really there to have fun and enjoy a horseback ride and instead they were stuck on a horse that didn’t want to move. I felt like the instructor was just filling up time to take our money and move of. Very sad experience.
