Great stuffed avocado! We were a party of ten. Great service but food took a little longer because the place was packed. But everyone loved their food & salsa. Would go back.

My wife and I frequent this place. Love the Floritas and the staff are very warm, welcoming and customer service focused. There is a reason this place gets so crowded and it is because food is delicious, ambiance is authentic, and staff are excellent!

I’m rating Flores an extra half star because it’s absurd that the Salt Lick is so highly rated and Flores so low when they’re each about as good as what they do as the other. Flores is solid Tex-Mex, not too fancy, with delicious salsa and chips fried in-house. Some of the best chips and salsa in town, to be honest. The new William Cannon location makes fresh flour tortillas too, which is always nice.

Overpriced, for what it is. I ordered the fajitas today and the guacamole that came with it was probably no more than a tablespoon, when I asked for extra they charged me nearly $ 3, and gave me more than I needed. my tortillas were room temp, and hard around the edges. I think the flores in oak hill is way better, hands down. I don’t know why, but it just is.

Salsa is spicy, chips are enormous for some reason and not always fresh, guac salads are flavorless and taco meat has absolutely NO seasoning in them. If Taco Bell can beat a restaurant in seasoning food, there’s a problem. Some dishes are decent. Their cheese and beef enchiladas are typical flavors you’ll find at any chain. No shock there but wishing it was unique. When they serve you a taco that is part of your plate, it comes on a separate dish with iceberg lettuce, pieces of shredded red cabbage and chopped tomatoes. I’m betting this is from a premixed salad bag. Like I said earlier, the taco meat has NO flavor whatsoever so you end up adding salsa to it, adding the lettuce and tomatoes and salt. Dishes shouldn’t have to be doctored up. Changing to a dark green lettuce is even better. I wonder if this is just this location or all of Flores restaurants. To be determined. Some dishes are great and some are boring. I believe it’s the Jose plate or something with the steak, cheese enchilada and guac salad. The first time I had this, the steak was SO good. The grill marks were beautiful, the flavor was perfect and I knew I wanted it again. The second time I ordered it, it came well done, dry and full of fat. About a quarter of it was left on my plate because the cut was horribly done. Again though, I had to add salt to the guac salad. Btw, if you order guac as an appetizer, expect two very small scoops with, yet again, no seasoning. It’s not worth the price. Want excellent guac? Spend $ 5 or so at Torchys. As for the staff, I’ve never really had an issue and they have always been kind. One might just slack a little on a busy night but someone else will always pick the slack up. The playground is tiny and parents will allow their 10+ aged kids to run around with the smaller kids who get knocked down. The staff ignores it and the parents of the older kids ignore it as well, leaving the parents of the little ones to leave their tables to ask the kids to stop running or get off. It becomes a pain. As far as I remember, the age limit is below that. I hope they one day increase the size of that area and have a place for smaller and bigger kids in two different areas or really push to have the older kids leave. I’ve witnessed a lot of little kids getting knocked down because 5 older kids run around in their cleats, going up slides backwards, jumping from the top floor of the playscape over a kid’s head and so on.

Hair in my food, no one cared. Won’t be back. Server just gave out dishes and when asked what the dish was, we were told that he didn’t know. We had to pass food around to each other. Plates themselves were hotter than they food. Bland bland bland food except Queso do was good…

Same quality and taste as Taco Cabana. No taste, much better places than this.

The only place I’ve ever spit the cheese enchilada into a napkin! Really?!? You can’t get a cheese enchilada right? Worst Mexican food I’ve ever had!!!

If you’re fortunate enough to miss the entrance and drive past this place just keep going. Two of our three plates had no flavor and the third plate only had bad.

That place was empty around 4pm but I was waiting to be seated for 10 mins. Slow service! My cold water was good but the rest is not.

I judge a Mexican restaurant by their salsa — so Flores passed my first test. But it went downhill from there. The fish tacos came out with just a piece of fish on a tortilla — nothing else. There was no flavor or pizzaz in this dish. So disappointing! When we ordered guacamole we looked at each other and laughed when it came to our table. It was a TINY serving. One great thing though was the beer selection– they had the local Twisted X Fuego!!! Our favorite brew and PERFECT with Mexican food.!! Cmon Flores I expect more from you!

Just left the place. Worst service ever. The waitress spent more time talking to her buddies than waiting on her customers. She never checked on us to see if the meal was ok or if we needed more to drink Until the meal was over. Even when we passed as we left she ignored us. Will not be back. We had a nacho plate and two taco salads. I had margarita… Wanted another and dessert. But was never asked. The floor was filthy with food and napkins the entire time.

There can’t possibly be less authentic Mexican food in the world. If they serve tubed tacos on the international space station I guarantee they would be better. The chips must have come straight out of the Costco bag and the salsa had less bite than a gold fish. My taco salad dreamed one day it would reach the levels of Taco Bell. When the chicken strips and fries of the kids meal are the best entrée items on the table you have come up short. Anywhere but here.

The food is pretty low quality, like they buy in mass quantities, and definitely doesn’t feel like good home cooked Tex Mex. El Rey’s is much better and a little more South. The service here is incredibly awful. I’m not sure if they only hire first time waiters or if they just don’t do any training, but it’s ridiculous. My parents live down the street and we go often because we can have some margaritas and don’t have to go on public roads, but it’s always painful. We’ve never had the same waiter more than once either, so maybe they always quit because they don’t make money because they are so terrible. I have sat at this restaurant 15 minutes before even being greeted before, but most often I get up and ask to at least get water before I wait that long. Again, if it wasn’t so close to the house we would absolutely never go here.

So we stopped last year at this location on our way to AZ and got breakfast tacos. I LOVED how fresh the tacos were, and how the waiter was awesome. The customer service was on point and even though the tacos came to be about 4 bucks a pop, they were worth every bite. Fresh Spinach, potato, bean, onion and more!!! So delish! I definitely recommend this place. Oh. . its on the side of the main hwy and so it’ll beon your left if coming from 71/Oak Hill area. I have pictures on my old phone of these delish tacos. need to find a way to upload the pic :)

This was a chill spot that my group checked out during a road trip. I enjoyed my food, everyones food looked good too and we had no issues with service. This is a silly thing I noticed but I just needed to say that the music was on point. I heard so many oldies and it took me back! Other than that I would come back to this location next time i’m around. I had the burrito in the cream sauce and side of rice(picture shown)

Too expensive for the quality of food. I ordered tortilla soup. There was a whole stalk of celery in big chunks. Yucky. The soup was super watery and had only dark meat. Double yuck. The stuffed pepper has the nastiest red sauce. Next I will go with green sauce. The rice is instant rice! Seriously! That was a huge surprise. The only Mexican restaurant in Austin with instant rice. Gross. The playground is great for the kids and they always have drink specials. For this I have to give it at least 2 stars.
