You must go here now! Seriously, what are you waiting for? A great spot for breakfast. What a fantastic selection of different type of breakfast styles. They have great home fries with tasty grilled onions included if you so desire. The staff is friendly and accommodating to special requests in food prep like«pile on the bacon and sausage in my breakfast sandwich.»

This is our go to breakfast spot. The food is always fresh and delicious. I usually get the Veggie omelet, big portion and tasty. My wife loves the pancakes, and the kids the French toast. We all enjoy the selection of candy and beverages from across the pond. The staff is always friendly and attentive, and we are greeted with smiles every time we go.

I am very appreciative of a café or restaurant that does not overdo their dishes w a lot of fancy ingredients and charge a fortune. Hibernia hits the mark. Its great finding an Irish breakfast w true black pudding and their Huevos Rancheros cannot be beat. I love this little joint around the corner. It can’t be beat!

Love the food. Had the huevos rancheros for breakfast. Was so flavorful and a very big portion. They do not skimp on your meals. They also have smaller portions available at a lower price. Breakfast is worth the price. One of my top 5 breakfast spots on Delco

The best breakfast and lunch in Delco, hands down. This place competes with the real McCoy across the pond, if you’re looking for an authentic Irish breakfast to keep you going until dinner, look no further. I frequent the Hibernian at least a few times a month and have yet to have a bad experience!

I wanted to like this place, but didn’t. Apparently, they used to have an extensive Mexican breakfast menu. Not any more. Now it is just standard breakfast fare. The meal was unfortunately sub par. The home fries tasted like they were microwaved. No flavor. The service was OK. I had to call out for a waitress to get a check so I could leave.

A great local breakfast spot that seems to be run by Mexicans but has an Irish theme. All in all the food is great and made fresh with a courteous staff. If your party is bigger than 4 you may have a problem. Parking is easy with a lot across the street which is free on Sundays. They offer a bunch of soda options made with real sugar not corn syrup. Take out is an option as well.

If you have Multiple Personality Disorder(MPD) you are going to be in heaven here! Hibernia is the classical Latin name for the island of Ireland so this place is most known for its Irish food but it’s owned by a Mexican family so that cuisine is also served here. Of course it’s in the good old USA so American staples are represented as well. I know it sounds crazy but it works. This place reminds me of the beginning of countless jokes. «An Irishman, a Mexican, and an American walk into a …» Actually you can have a fine breakfast here with enough variety to satisfy almost everyone and that’s not a joke. The lovely wife and I showed up about 11 am today(Sunday) and this tiny place was packed with a line to the door. We waited about ten minutes for a seat. Just about all the seats are small booths for four. If you show up with a larger group you’re in trouble. The place is a little bit divey but it’s clean. If it’s Irish you want all the staples are here. You’ve got your black & white pudding, Irish bacon, fried breads, sausage, beans, etc. You can order an Irish breakfast in either a small or large version and sample most of it. On the American side my wife ordered a Jalapeño Omelet for $ 7.99. It was large and well-cooked and came with a mountain of home fries. It contained several veges and also some small pieces of bacon. She found it good but not great as it seemed to be light on the fillings. Now for a Mexican choice. I went with the Huevos ala Mexicana with Chorizo and jalapeño for $ 8.99. It was a spicy Mexican scramble and came with rice and beans. It was excellent and a very large portion. Note– My meal was a special. If you want a full Mexican menu you need to ASKFORIT. Before I forget, we shared a homemade grilled raisin scone that was OMG delicious! Service could have been better today. We waited over twenty five minutes for our food. It was tough to get refills on water and coffee. At one point my slightly frustrated wife actually got up and refilled her own coffee. One the plus side the two young women that served us were very nice. Within about a ten minute drive I can find breakfast in several other places. Would I come here again, absolutely? Would I call it a destination restaurant for breakfast, probably not?

Who in a million years would have thought we’d have an outstanding Mexican breakfast at an Irish café. We had the huevos rancheros, which were quite possibly the best I ever had. The service was stellar. Fast, friendly, accommodating. I gave 5 stars because I enjoyed everything. People knock the ambiance but you have to consider the context. This doesn’t claim to be a fancy place. It’s a neighborhood joint!

Irish breakfast? Could of fooled me! This place has the best Mexican breakfast food around!!! Which shouldn’t surprise anyone since the cook is Mexican. Be careful ordering anything that has ‘spicy’ in the description. That stuff is HOT; the ‘hot’ is 5-alarm HOT. The coffee is excellent and the service is quick. I would give 5 stars but the ambience is lacking. The lighting is poor and there are no other windows except for the front one. Also, the parking is a problem because Garrett Rd has meters and it’s narrow and very busy.

Not sure how to rate this — on one hand, it very much reminds me of a British/Irish breakfast experience in a low-end area in the British Islands, so it’s somewhat authentic. OTOH, it’s very cramped, small, and parking’s a pain. So three stars is a balance … Four and a half stars for the authenticity, two stars for the small, cramped space & run down feel of the place. They have Irishey breakfast/lunch specials, plus more Americanized items. Vegans & vegetarians note, you will not find much here to your liking. Pretty much everything on the menu has at least cheese on it, and half of things have some meat, mostly pork products. They also have curried patties similar to what you’d find in Ireland/England, which were ok, but VERY greasy. Also are a small variety of British/Irish canned goods, which were interesting, to say the least.

Great place. They do a wonderful breakfast. Quiet and clean. Ask for the homemade salsa. Very good and they have a Mexican menu that you have to ask for. ASKFORIT. Great cup of tea as well. Enjoy :)

Mmmm… Ohh yeah. mmmm…delicious Irish breakfast. Folks this is as close as I have found to the true Irish breakfast. It brings back memories of the such great time I had in Ireland. Live this gem of an eatery

Not an every day kind of place, food this good can kill you, but what a way to go. It’s booths only, a tight fit for us larger customers, but we didn’t get large passing up food this good. Quick friendly service, and a meal that makes you think your Gram is still around, and she thinks you’re too skinny.

Again, thank you local Unilocalers for pointing me here when I was in the area yesterday looking for a quick bite. Any place that can go between Irish and Mexican food like this is a unique find for sure. I love both styles of food, and can never find enough good Irish fare around these parts except on St Patty’s Day. It’s nice to know that a fix is so close by. I went for a basic Irish bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a bagel with home fries. Very good sandwich, and excellent home fries perfectly seasoned. You know you’ve found a good place when the home fries are perfect, because not every place gets them right. I wish parking was better and the place was less cramped, but that’s just the area I suppose. Previous reviewers were right as the proprietors here are very friendly. I’ll be back, because I really have to try the Huevos Rancheros.

I can get Mexican food, or traditional Irish food… or both at the same time? This is a family run shop in Drexel Hill, serving up only the best. There are always specials on the board, and the menu has so much to offer. I always end up getting an omelet with jalapenos and a side of rice and beans. I was on an Irish breakfast kick for a while, which consisted of the most delicious breads, blood pudding, and a nice fat tomato. They also offer fresh breads at the counter, various dry and canned goods, and the best candies. If you’re in the neighborhood, stop by! They even offer your basic run-o-the mill sandwich for that picky eater type.

Try this place this morning, based on the positive reviews on Unilocal, and the reviews my boyfriend gave it(he orders lunch from here frequently). I got the eggs and American bacon, homefries and toast. It was delicious. The bacon was perfectly cooked. The wait staff was friendly. And if not for the fact that I am doing Weight Watchers right now(although you’d never guess it from my choice of breakfast foods), i would have left with a bunch of cadbury products(especially the flake bars, which I haven’t had since I was in Ireland.) We will definitely be back soon!

I have to admit I never would have eaten here if not for the great Unilocal reviews. Now it is one of my favorite places to eat. Thanks Unilocal!!! This is a charming little neighborhood gem. You can get some awesome lunch or breakfast here. The Irish breakfast specials have hearty portions and will fill up even the hungriest of eaters. The Old Sod Burger is a favorite it is a cheeseburger with Irish bacon and fried onions. It doesn’t sound like anything special on paper just order one and thank me later. The service is good. The place is small so your server is never far from you and they are always very friendly and nice.
