Had a delightful experience!!! Great food and great service. However I think they should have better security because we all know they got robbed that one time. Other then that, they are one of my favorite places in the Americas

My chickie’s experience was very interesting. Me and my child, The Unilocalest Jr, had a great time. It was quintessential and gave a perfect example to my son, about what businesses should be like. I will go here seldom from now on. Nothing particularly bad transpired within my experience here. Since my taste in these kind of places are eclectic, you should take my advice. All of the food services were quite stupendous. I found that it was also immaculately clean and hygienic. Overall, I highly suggest going to this location once you have the chance. — The Unilocalest

Drove 40 minutes to get here to watch the presidential debate and got turned away at the door because they were«only taking reservations because we are so busy» for the event. We asked if we could try the bar and the girl made a «it ain’t gonna happen» face and said«I mean, you can TRY…» No one even let us put our name in and let us decide if we wanted to wait or not. I am a business owner myself, and what a horrible business model that you refuse guests at a big chain like chickies! And to cop an attitude about it… Not to mention the staff on the floor(we did TRY the bar, ha!) was obviously frazzled and also rude to people who were«in their way». We were looking forward to having a new chickies to frequent, but I can promise we won’t be back. And for the owners’ sake, I hope he/she changes their business practices and stops refusing customers with money in their pockets.

I’m kind of surprised at the low ratings. I had a good experience here. I was a visitor from out of state so maybe that’s why? Either way I was a fan of C&P as a first timer. My cousins took me here for lunch and Sunday football. They only had one or two games on, that was the only downer. I am a big fan of being able to have seafood in a sports bar! We started with the crab fries, which was basically seasoned fries with cheese dipping sauces. The name fooled me and I thought it would have crab meat, still very tasty though! Who doesn’t like hot crispy seasoned fries and cheese together?! We also had the crab nachos, which was also delish, this one had crab meat in it. For our main I got the seafood chowder and my cousin and I split the crab cake sandwich. The chowder was delish, it reminded me of the Mexican seafood soup I get here at Mambo’s. It was tomato broth base with potato, clams, shrimp. The broth was light and had good flavors. The crab cake sandwich was huge! So glad we decided to split. Our crab cake was thick and loaded with crab meat. The bun was soft and tasty with sesame seeds, tasted really fresh. Our sandwich was garnished with lettuce, tomato, pickles and a remoulade sauce. My cousin’s hub ordered the crab legs, they looked delish and well seasoned, he confirmed it was tasty. We all enjoyed our lunch and being in a low key atmosphere since we had kiddos with us. I was told ESPN rated this sports bar as the #1 sports bar in the nation. With a tasty menu and diff options than most sports bar and plenty of tv’s all over I can see why. Now if only they’d open up some locations in the south. ;-)

This place is overrated. The food is average at best and the atmosphere is bad, unless you’re there to watch a game. Even then, you probably won’t hear it. I gave it two stars only because they have a lot of tvs. Otherwise they’d have received one. I highly recommend going a couple doors down to Maggie O’Neill’s instead, as it’s a much better spot by all accounts.

People get over yourselves. It’s Chickies. It’s fries and beer and sports and loud and you’re going to wait and your going to get some inconsistencies. It’s an institution. Get some crab fries and lighten up. Thanks Pete.

My wife and I were greeted by our server. We placed our drink orders. I asked for a Coors light bottle with a glass. The server brought me a Corona. I explained to the server I ordered a Coors Light she turned the bottle around and looked at the label. She then looked at me with a puzzled look on her face. I then said again I asked for a Coors Light this is a Corona. She then took the bottle back and returned with a Coors Light. She then asked if we were ready to order. My wife ordered and asked for a side order of sweet potato fries. The server then replied they were out of sweet potato fries. After a short discussion we decided to order just regular plain fries without the crab seasoning. When placing my order for the Philly cheese steak I asked if I could have fried onions on my steak. My server replied yes. My sandwich came out with raw onions on the steak with cheese melted over them. I called our server over showed her that the onions were not fried. She looked at me with the same puzzling look as when she gave me the wrong beer. Each time we interacted with our server We were polite and smiling. Our server then took my sandwich back to the kitchen. My wife meanwhile had her pork ribs delivered while I waited for my sandwich to return. Still missing is the order of Plain French Fries. Our server returned dropped our sandwich at the table. We asked her for the French fries and again got the puzzling look. She returned back to the kitchen. Ten minutes later she returned with you guessed it Crab Seasoned Fries. We then explained we wanted plain French fries and we cancelled them. Our server seemed to have other things on her mind. There was no other reason for all the mis– communication. For the price of the tab the food was mediocre at best. I consider it not worth the price.

I’ll be honest. The food is not that good. It’s very salty and not completely fresh. If you visit, go for the sports bar experience but don’t get too excited about the food.

Haven’t been here in a little while n went lastnight. What a huge difference in service and food quality. It has gone down so much, so fast! Very disappointed! Will Not be going back anytime soon! I ordered mussels, shrimp and couple other things. Half the mussels weren’t even cooked all the way! Either way lesson learned.

Dear Chickie and Pete. You shouldn’t have blue crab legs on your menu if you NEVER have them. My fiancé ordered them a year ago, and we were told they were out. Tonight, we decided to try again, and again they were out. The server told us, «we haven’t had them in months.» Dur. Why are they the first option for crabs on the menu if you never have them? He ordered a roast pork with spinach and provolone instead. The provolone is a liquid sauce, and it is just straight up nasty. I took a bite, and it left an awful film in my mouth. We were told they don’t even have sliced cheese in their kitchen. So it’s probably comes from a big ol’ can of nasty cheese. I give my visit two stars only for the calamari. It was pretty delicious. Not enough to make me want to come back. Maybe if they ever have blue crabs? But after a year, I am going to guess they are only on the menu for decoration.

A great place to go watch sports, drink beer, and munch on food with friends. They have large booths so that you can fit your group of friends, and TVs all around so no one has a bad view. They menu includes nachos, chicken cutlets, salads, cutlet sandwiches, cheesesteaks, mussels, crabs, and of course, crab fries. The fries are covered in old bay and served with melted American cheese. They’re delicious and if you’ve never had them, you must try them! They have a solid selection of beer and most of the beers are available in a beer tower, which is a great option when sharing with friends. Although this is not a place id go just to have dinner, it is a great place to have nearby to watch the games and have good food.

I am a big fan of C&P. In fact it is a staple when I have out of town guests in. However, when something grows very large at a rapid pace concern sets in. I really hope that the quality and standards of this restaurant company stay intact. This particular location seems to have difficulty executing a seating plan. Not sure if it is staffing issues or what, but you would never see what happens here happen at their Blvd location(which may be their best). Open tables go unseated for lengthy amounts of time before they are filled. Waitresses also do not work the«wait line» like they do at the Blvd. Too many missed opportunities from the jump. The fries are good and you can’t do without them but oftentimes taste as if they are over-cooked. I do love that they are served with two canisters of cheese. Service is fair here. Never exceptional and could be a reason why tables are not filled more quickly. The bar is so tight with seats that it is also difficult to get a drink order in if you are not seated there. I am surprised that there is not an app for that. On a totally separate note, Pete needs to leave his ego at the door and let someone else do his radio spots. They are awful and he comes off like an owner of a used car dealership trying to claim a little fame.

Went here again last night. Again I like that this place is here because it brings vitality to the area. I wish I could write top notch reviews about this place, but it’s consistently middle of the road. There’s nothing worse than when they say there is a 20 – 30 min wait but there are several open tables(that are unclean) or ones that are roped off. Come on, roped off? Doubtful this place has a VIP coming or a reservation on a Friday at 9pm. The crab fries are good of course. I had the red roast pork sandwich… it was middle of the road, not much flavor. My brother had the wings, he didn’t like them much. My sister-in-law had the pizza and she liked it, although they delivered it to her without utensils and a plate. We had to wait for the waitress to come back to have the ability to eat. Standard bad management of service. Waitress was really pushing drinks. I appreciate her trying to keep drinks in front of us but it was almost uncomfortable. Overall, we had a decent time because it’s somewhere ok to go locally.

Glad they out one of these in delco, it’s a great place to go and watch sporting events without having to go into the city. The crab fries are delicious, can’t go wrong with those. Other than that I think their food is hit or miss and for the most part slightly overpriced. Great beer selection though and beer towers available! Great seating for larger groups and plenty of tvs!

Been here a bunch of times throughout 2014. The service is usually great and the food is good. If you like sports there are a ton of TVs and there really isn’t a bad seat in the place for viewing a game. With the exception of the last time we went the service has always been good. Also on the same night they didn’t have everything on the menu. The server didn’t explain that before taking our order. For this night I’d give them 2 starts. One of the mangers noticed we were disgruntled and covered our drinks. That was nice. I think it was just a bad night for them with not having a bunch of items on their menu and our server just wasn’t good at her job, it happens from time to time. That being said that is the only bad experience I’ve ever had here and I’ll go back.

First time there tonight. Everything was OK and the burger was really good. When it was time to leave we saw a roach crawling on the wall of our booth. Thank god it was when we were leaving… probably not going back…

I used always love the original location down in Mayfair, in Philly. The location on the Blvd brought this chain to a new level, I liked that location too. When South Philly opened I was very impressed, Pete deserves this success as he is a very hard worker. They were a five star establishment hands down, any way you sliced it. Now it seems that they are virtually everywhere, and the product, in my observation, has been slipping for some time now and is less consistent. I am giving a solid 3.7 to this chain. Drexel Hill is below that 3.7. They are about a 3 for execution. The bartenders are good, the servers I don’t know, I just don’t know. I was excited when a Chickies made it to Delco, but they are not living up to the expectations of all the other Chickie’s I have enjoyed patronizing over the years. This location is not a destination spot like South Philly. This place is: «I want crab fries, but I am not willing to drive very far to get them, and I guess this will have to do.» Crab fries are their staple, signature item. I love Crab Fries, but as of late, in Delco, the fries have not lived up to the legend that they once were. In the last 4 visits they have been overdone, while simultaneously lacking the signature flavor. I sent them back and they came back the same, I don’t get it. It is as if they were sitting under a heat lamp waiting for me to order them. Different times of the day I am sure the kitchen is running nonstop on the fryers, but that doesn’t mean you make fries for people have not ordered yet. I can’t figure out why this keeps happening with the fries, but when you’ve grown up enjoying something and you have a string of inconsistent dishes you have to wonder. For what it is worth, I don’t think anyone at Chickies cares, as the bars are money making machines. I am just one person on Unilocal, who was a loyal patron for about two decades. BTW, I have not commented on other issues I experienced at this establishment only because they have been corrected, on subsequent visits, so maybe they are making progress, I don’t know.

Since this location has opened, the staff and food have gone south a tad. For example, I order a chicken BLT every time my husband and I come here to watch a sports game. My order is simple and difficult to mess up. However, when I ordered my sandwich last night, I asked for no onion. I received no bacon instead. Also, I ordered a fruity alcoholic beverage with my meal last night. If I can taste 3x more vodka than I can fruit, there’s an issue, especially if that is not what I asked for. Lastly, some of the waitresses are just plain snobs. They barely smile and treat you as a burden. Very unprofessional!

«Meh» is perfect. Good wings though. Ok tap list. Agree with others in that I don’t know what the place is supposed to be — a cocktail bar, sports bar? family restaurant? A Hooters without the chicks? Parking issues galore… The entire back wall of the bar is stacked with liquor, like a fancy cocktail bar… but there’s 30 tv’s like a sports bar… but there’s a ton of booth tables, like a pub/family place… High ceiling makes it feel very spacious. Parking — Oh, how could I forget? They have a «private lot» right next to the road with an ominous –looking black fence around it, with«parking only for… and Chickes and Petes» sign… which is kinda how I ended up here. I had wanted to try Maggie O’Neills right next door but the«Parking Police» yelled«Halt! Halt!» So, I figured, what the hey… Do they really need to pay someone to *constantly* monitor the parking? I mean come on, that’s pretty douchey to have someone constantly patrol a parking lot. Wings were good, but everything else overrides the good aspect of it. It seems the clientele is «on» as well, I kinda felt like I was in a Bud light Lime commercial. So, don’t expect find me here… like, ever again…

Well, my love-hate relationship with the Chickie’s and Pete’s chain continues. To put it best, I agree with all of you. Yes, the food here is as good as any of the other branches of this local chain. Yes, they are a little out of order with serving food in general. Yes, it’s remarkably crowded and not terribly comfortable to hang out at all the time. I’ve had some bad meals at Chickie’s in the past. I’ve also had some good ones. i’ve had very friendly service. I’ve also had quite rude service. So why does the Drexel Hill location get 4 stars? Well, this is the place where I finally figured out that the mussels in red sauce are what I should order every time I come here. Put it this way… my wife ordered crab cakes, and got 3 small cakes on her plate with no sides, just some dipping sauce, for $ 21. They were good, but in my mind not best I ever had for $ 21. She was still hungry afterward, and between the two of us she tends to eat less. I got the bowl of mussels with the red sauce. I’m usually the one who can really pack it away. And at the end of that bowl, I was full to the gills for $ 11.95. Oh, that red sauce makes it worthwhile! My tip… if you like mussels, go with them. You’ll get your money’s worth far more than you will with the crabs. And the bartenders here, great service. They hustle. I loved it. Chickie’s and Pete’s isn’t perfect. In fact they’re still overrated to me. But I will say that every now and then, they make me happy. Last night, they succeeded.
