I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed Siren records yet. The pluses for this store are endless!!! Really nice staff always playing great music in the shop. They also support and host local performances which is such a strong aspect that sets Siren apart from other shops. Great customer support with a really nice discount program and listening stations!!! New and used Vinyl cds dvds etc… The selection is insane and they tend to only put out Lp’s at worst maybe VG condition nothing really below that and the prices are great too!!! Another things I love is that they have a great Jazz section and they always put a clean aftermarket record sleeve in every LP even when the original sleeve is in the Lp jacket. This is a small detail that really stands out to a record collector and I thank Siren for this detail as well as the previous points. Seriously though, The Wonder years played the shop as well as Anthony Green from Circa survive and they even hosted hardcore band 108 in the past which was a sick show at the Moose lodge.

Great selection of records across many genres. Some albums at a good price but many were a little pricier than I’ve seen elsewhere. Go here to find one of the better selections around, but not bargains.

They carry a very solid vinyl collection that is priced to the market. When I first walked in I saw they had a few Murder City Devils albums — and I was immediately with this spot.

Haven’t been to Siren since 2007(oddly)… but when I used to frequent it(2005 – 2007), I loved the place. Generally friendly staff. I mainly shop for used CDs, as it’s all I have the money for… not sure about the vinyl selection but many people have said it’s quite good… I need to stop in there and check out the budget vinyl, sometime. Anyone know if it’s still in the same 2nd-floor location or if they moved again? I heard they moved several times since 2007…

Record stores do not get any better than this, everything an audiophile would expect for a local record store. Unlike most record stores their used LPs seem to be meticulously selected, I could not find a piece that I would not consider VG++. Over the years this store has come a long way and I consider myself very lucky to to live so close.

Siren covers all the bases as far as being a good record store and providing an interesting place to shop hands on. Vinyl selection covered quite a few genres so should appeal to most buyers. Cd selection was so so especially if you’re used to bigger stores. Prices on used vinyl are fair and in some cases cheaper than other places in Jersey. Used Cd prices seemed high but not unreasonable. I didn’t notice a grading on the vinyl I purchased; however, all conditions were in line with price. I wasn’t buying anything rare or expensive so really not an issue. They sell new vinyl, however, I didn’t pay attention to selection since I shy away from them anyway. Local area is nice with plenty of restaurants and coffee shops. Staff seemed friendly enough, although I never approached anyone– I was just browsing and looking for random music that interested me. Found three great records for myself and one for my wife. All used records were in plastic protectors. I will definitely return.

I was excited to find a record and CD shop during our journey across Eastern, PA, so we decided to stop at Siren Records in Doylestown. Pros: A decent sized selection of CDs and records; All music is organized in sections by genre and in alphabetical order; There is a 3/$ 10CD section; Above average selection and volume in the metal section; Awesome small section of underground metal zines! Cons: Music cases and shelving was extremely dusty and filthy and literally caused me to choke outloud on the dust and wanting to wash my hands ASAP; The only used CD I was interested in was an 11 year old copy for $ 9.99 in a dusty and sticky case; The music playing in the store was significantly louder than it should have been. In conclusion, despite dust choking moment, I would recommend stopping in for a look. There seemed to be a very good selection of obscure metal which will bring me back again if I am in the area.

Siren is a pretty sweet record shop. I was hoping to find some Morrissey or Smiths records but didn’t come across any. This record shop has a nice variety of records and they are all moderately priced. I picked up some Bee Gees, Motley Crue, Neil Diamond, and a few more other ones. It ranges any where from $ 1.99 to like $ 30 per record. For the most part, everything is priced between $ 1.99 to $ 10. The expensive records were mostly from the Beatles, Elvis, and a few other artists. They also sell CDs. Verdict — Great shop to waste some time while the girls are out shopping. I’ll be back again next time and please bring in some Smiths and Morrissey records!

Cool place to stop in every now and then and browse through the selection of vinyl, CDs, etc. They have something for everyone, regardless of your music preferences, and if they don’t have it they’ll try and locate it for you. A nice place to kill some time!

I really want to give Siren a lower score because I sometimes find them to be very hit or miss as far as selection and their staff can be absolutely atrocious on the friendliness front. But then, every once in a while, I stop in with no particular purpose, find a gem in the used record section, and am greeted by friendly knowledgeable staff and I’m drawn back in. That’s basically how my latest visit to Siren went. I went in to look around and kill a little time before catching a movie across the street at the County Theater. I found several Beatles albums in great condition and decided to take one home. The girl who rang up my purchase was really friendly and pleasant. There was another younger guy working as well and he assisted me when I had some questions about their record player(you can listen before you buy at Siren, which is a nice feature). This is the third location for Siren and I think they’re found a space that’s the right fit for them. Their original store was the store of my youth, so I’ll always be slightly partial to it – but they outgrew the space, and when they moved, it was time. Their second store didn’t last too long — it was in a space above the Doylestown Bookstore. It was immense and it felt like they never were able to fill the space as they had intended. Their new location is spacious(but not overly so) and warm. It’s really the perfect venue for them. They always have interesting music playing(one of the best aspects of the store is going in and hearing something new and interesting playing). They also tend to play movies on mute with the music going — I don’t know why, but I just love that.

What an incredible record shop! I have been coming here for years and I can’t get enough! I collect old and new vinyl and this is one of my fav spots to search. The staff is incredibly friendly and love to talk music. I try to make it here at least once a month. I love how I was able to find my favorite indie band on vinyl. I will say this… Siren Records is hands down, the best record shop outside the city.

I live in New York City and I still crave visits to Siren Records. Siren has the selection of the best NYC record stores with half the markup and four times the customer service. I used to hang around in here for hours on end when I lived in the area, and always left with more stuff than I had intended on buying. I have bought the«Now Playing» cd on three different occasions and have never been disappointed. Their turntable supplies have saved my record player twice. The car I drove all throughout high school was carefully outfitted in a huge number of bumper stickers from the giant binder they keep behind the register. My friends were able to sell their bands’ CDs here, right at the counter in a special local music display. My brother’s band played a show in their store once. I love this store and I hope it never ever closes. I will singlehandedly buy hard copies of all the albums I have bought on iTunes just to keep this place in business if it comes down to it. I love it that much.

Siren’s changed locations a few times but has finally settled in a nice-sized space. The selection is pretty good and most things are available used for a discounted price. I wouldn’t recommend buying their vinyl on sale without testing it out in-store, a friend and I purchased a couple and they were both seriously warped.

Ya for Siren — it saved our asses in Jr. High and High school for sure. It was a hang out and a place of employment for some of my friends. Great selection of music and they can order you anything you’d ever want.

I have only started coming here very recently, and I am already in love. I can state without reservation that Siren is the best record store in the Philly burbs, and is likely better than any store in the city as well. Short of driving to Princeton, I don’t know where else to go. The current location(soon to move, I believe) is a spacious open room on the 2nd floor. On top of the usual CD/vinyl selection(which is excellent, though short of Princeton’s expansiveness), they have DVDs, magazines, books, posters… basically everything to tempt the inner nerd in all of us. Prices are a bit on the mid-high side, overall(mostly for the«well-known» acts), but during my most recent visit the vinyl I purchased was marked-down 50% at the register… I’m not sure if this is at all related to the pending move but it sure was a nice surprise. Even beyond that, they have great prices on their classical selection, cheap DVDs, and the«new arrival» shelf is carefully organized(they earn extra points for putting the ‘audiophile’ vinyl in its own section). Oh yea… the«budget» vinyl crates start at 50 cents a pop. Simply having albums that nobody else will ever let into their doors makes this place worthwhile in and of itself. Did I mention the frequent buyers club that gives you a discount with every $ 200(I think) spent? No? Well, I just did. The staff is friendly and helpful, and far more engaging than what Princeton has to offer. There is a much greater sense of «community» here, which simply cannot be faked. On that path, it was great to see the community come together to help bail out the store during the recent/ongoing shakedown thanks to their landlord. While this has put a damper on their in-house music events, I hope that once they move to the new location all will be right with the world again. Bottom line… this place is a treasure and deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence along with Princeton, My Mind’s Eye(Cleveland), and Aquarius(San Francisco) when discussing the best record stores in the country. Heck… the world!

Siren Records is a staple of Doylestown. I’ve been shopping here for years and would routinely drive an hour round trip to stop at Siren and a few other local stores. The selection cannot be beat. Siren tends to sell a wide variety of genres that other local record stores don’t carry. I particularly like their selection of electronic and dance music; which other stores barely carry. The customer service, however, is what gets Siren a 5 star review in my book. I’ve routinely asked for CDs that they don’t carry. They don’t scoff at these obscurities, however. Siren has always been great about asking me if I want them to order them especially for me and without charging any extra fees. I then get a friendly call saying my CD’s in and am totally grateful for the experience. I’m also a member of their frequent buyers club which earns me free CDs every so often. A wonderful bonus. I have found that some of the CD prices can be a bit more than other stores, but since I can’t find these CDs anywhere else, I really am glad they’re even there. Don’t get me wrong, I do find many bargains on new CDs. They have a big used CD library as well which is fun to pick through. I highly recommend you take a walk through their store the next time you’re in Doylestown and you’re itchin’ for music. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you do.
