Service was poor and under par. Our waitress practically informed our table the whole dinner. Left feeling aggravated and actually had our food wrapped to go because we waited too long for it. Food was mediocre for Italian.

Probably the best traditional Italian-American food in the area. Clean and cheerful décor. They do a great job separating the restaurant from the smoky bar. Friendly prompt service and huge portions. Veal parm and eggplant dish were excellent. Pasta a little overdone but sauce is very tasty. Crisp salad. Free ice limoncello after dinner was a nice touch. Worth your visit!

This place is a little gem in downingtown, great italian food. Prices are reasonable portions are huge. Fresh made pasta is excellent. The menu is a little sparse but everything on there is excellent. Try the calamari with the spicy sweet sauce so good. Thursdays they do endless pasta for like 14 – 15 bucks great deal for freshly made pasta.

I’ve eaten here a few times. Not a fancy place, but it’s a good place to get a solid plate of Italian food. Chicken Parm is good, spaghetti and meatballs is good. The chicken fingers are made from real chicken. They taste like home made cutlets. Again… not fancy… but decent italian food

This has been a favorite restaurant of mine but my last experience left me extremely dissatisfied. My aunt was coming into town, and wanted to go to a nice restaurant on 2÷12÷11. I figured that it would be crowded, since a lot of people were celebrating Valentines day that weekend, so I called and booked a reservation. The wait staff was extremely slow to come to our table, and plopped down a menu, two sides of a sheet of paper, which was all that we could choose from. Now I know from having been there before that they have numerous other options, and thought it was an absolute sin for them to only offer 3 pasta options. No lasagna, no lobster ravioli. We decided to press on anyway and order appetizers. We ordered the brushetta and tomato and mozzarella. There were four people at the table, and they brought out three brushetta, that were barely bigger than a Ritz cracker. My aunt actually cut them in half so we could each have some. And it was packed on all of these greens, possibly in an attempt to make look less bare. As for the mozzarella and tomato, there were at least four of them, but again tons of greens as filler. I will say the actual meals themselves were excellent. No one bothered to fill my water. My aunt and husband ordered coffee after. Hers came out hot, and his came out ice cold. The dessert was disgraceful. Again the portion size was much smaller than it normally is, and definately not the quality it was in the past. I understand that this was a weekend where they were busier than usual, but unfortunately I[’m not sure if I want to spend my money if the quality and selection isn’t there anymore.

This is an interesting place with their share of ups and downs. Located off the beaten path, it doubles as a restaurant and an Italian social club(no kidding). They offer an extensive menu and ambiance that could be right at home in south Philly. If you’re eating at the restaurant, you can use the attached sports bar area(enclosed) to catch a smoke(including cigars– cool) — which my wife also loves. Be advised — the portions are humongous. We ordered a single antipasto for a table of 8, and it was more than enough. The bruschetta was outstanding, and the Italian bread(olive oil on the table — no need to ask) was very good. The table ordered a variety of dishes including an lamb osa buco the size of small leg. My pasta pescatori was generous in portions and seafood variety, but the sauce was nothing to write home about. My wife’s chicken cacciatore was ok, but again the sauce was a let down. Virtually everybody had a doggy bag to go. The Chianti by the carafe was decent. Prices for most appetizers range from $ 6 – 12, the entrees tend to be around $ 15 – 17 except for the higher end dishes that were in the low $ 20’s. While I would not reccomend this as a foodie’s stop, but it does offer a relatively inexpensive meal that has something for everybody and makes for an enjoyable group setting. If you’re eating out in d-town, i recommend giving it a try to see if its for you. Don’t expect haute cuisine — but if your looking for some Italian comfort food at a reasonable price, you might enjoy it.
