Palace Bowling & Entertainment Center

UPDATE: My son was on a Jr League over the summer again this year. Communication is way improved (frequent emails and calls returned quickly every time). Mgr Tina and her daughter Bonnie (we miss her b/​c now she’s away at college, but look forward to seeing her next summer) are super nice and go above and beyond with service and treat us like family. I highly recommend the Palace, and will keep going back frequently.

The Palace is a great place.
The staff is always very friendly and attentive. Although I wish the bar was downstairs, it’s great that they have one! Domino, the GM always does her best to make sure we are having a good time.
I plan on having kids parties there in the future as I have seen many before and the kids always look like they are having a blast!
Bring a date, the kids or just go for a solo bowl!

This place is a JOKE! Took my family there (myself, a 12, 11 and 4 year old) at 11:30am and although the place looked empty, they claimed to be sold out — all reserved. I at first didn’t accept this as it appeared that 70% of the lanes were open, but then learned the reservations started at 1pm. Thanks Palace for your great, NOT!, customer service to let a Dad and three kids bowl for all of an hour before your reservations, let alone spend even more money patronizing your shoes and food. Forget it! We left, had a pizza at Rino’s (highly recommend) and shot down to Frazer lanes. Old, but all the same to the kids. They LOVED it and we got out of there for 14 bucks for two games for all of us including the shoes! FORGET PALACE! Will never return, will never attend another event there, let alone schedule one for any of my five children and hereby recommend the same for anyone considering this establishment. Is bowling there fun? Sure, if you get in — but all the same, bowling is bowling and we found Frazer a much more pleasant, stress-​free and economical choice.

I’ve bowled in leagues here for a couple of years now. Contrary to what some other posters said, I’ve always found the staff to be friendly though I’ve never booked a party. The main problem is that the equipment is run down.
Every week we have some kind of lane problem. Sometimes the machine keeps reading scores wrong. Sometimes it’s the ball return getting constantly stuck. Sometimes the machine only puts down 9 pins or jams all together. Once, they couldn’t even fix our lanes and we had to wait until another league finished to move.
The facility is just a bit too small and needs a rehab. The staff is actually the saving grace for me.

The customer service is sub-​par.
The lane’s hours are completely misleading on the website, as well as on Unilocal.They are only open until 12am on Thursday, even though they advertise being open until 2am on Unilocal.If you decide to bowl here anyway, make sure you don’t bring your own ball, they get jammed almost every time and scratch right away. The food is full of grease and way overpriced.
I will be bowling elsewhere in the future. I have been here 3 times, and each experience has been worse than the last.

I usually find this bowling alley the best in the area, but I couldn’t have had a worse experience tonight. My ball continuously got stuck and wouldn’t return every three throws, the pins didn’t reset properly throughout the night, and to top it off the ball return machine scratched my ball on my last throw of the night. I’m highly disappointed and would not recommend this place to anyone. They need better upkeep!

It’s a clean facility, but extremely pricey. They don’t give you a print out of what you’re paying for so they can charge you whatever they feel like. I had a coupon for a free game. They failed to take off the discount and then charged me for my 3yr old to bowl plus shoe rentals, when he didn’t rent shoes. I will try somewhere else before coming back here again.

Customer Service needs some work. I contacted Palace Bowling to try and arrange an adult birthday party for my husband. As per the instructions on their website I sent an e-​mail with my details and what I was looking for. I never received a resonse to any of my messages and when I would call for information the employees couldn’t answer any questions. Instead of supporting a local establishment I ended up hosting the party at one of the bowling establishments in center city.
