The employee(Samantha) helping me was so… helpful! She greeted me as soon as I walked in, and she assisted me in looking for nursing bras.(I know… too much information. Lol.) Anyway, she measured me, and I found out that I was wearing the wrong size — even though I feel like I just got measured. They were having a sale where you buy three, get one free. I only needed one. I found it, and Samantha wrung me up. It was a pleasant transaction, and I would come here again if I needed another nursing bra or if I become pregnant again — but hopefully not within the year!

I started shopping here at this Downey location at the end of February of this year – around my 17-week mark, I think. Maternity clothes here are fairly affordable. They are also pretty durable… except don’t pull on the belly cover part on any jeans or leggings. I accidentally did that on one pair of my jeans and it did the little«runner in the panty hose» bit. They usually have some pretty cute tops and sleepwear. I was disappointed with their dress selections, though. They don’t have very many and the ones they do have weren’t available in my size. I regret buying the Indigo Blue maternity jeans, but I loved them earlier on in my pregnancy – up until about my 20 week mark. Sad, I know because I am a jeans girl. The«Secret Fit Belly» on maternity jeans seemed like a cool idea, but now they are so flaming uncomfortable that I don’t want to wear them at all. I started to fold the belly cover over, but then the pants start to fall down and it looks stupid that way anyway. I think this has greatly to do with my small mid-section, though, which bothers me because you’d think that the elastic belly cover would not feel so tight(but it did). I’m 5’6″ and have a rather small pre-pregnancy waist, so I would recommend buying one pair to try them out for a while before you decide whether maternity jeans are a go for you. On the flip side, I love the leggings(also with the belly top cover but for some reason these don’t bother me!) that I got here, but like a few of the tops and assortment of jean styles and colors, this store in particular had limited selections. I also like the sports and sleeping nursing bras I purchased. They are still extremely comfortable. The wired bras, on the other hand… I should have listened to my conscience and the reviews from women who have stated they detested wired bras during their pregnancies because now I cannot stand them even at 27 weeks preggo. Sad again, I know. The ladies who work here are super friendly, but I think it’s best to take their advice on certain products such as the wired bras and the baby bump lotion. They said that most women preferred Huntington Beach manufactured«Blooming Beautiful» bump butter, but I’m not a fan. I like the pump action on Palmer’s Organics Massage Lotion for stretch marks. It lathers on thicker and has a strong cocoa scent, but I am liking it so much better than the pricier Blooming Beautiful brand. Lastly, I like the fact that this store gives you a little motherhood start-up kit equipped with a few freebies like coupons, a pacifier, a small diaper pack, and reading materials. I signed up for the Destination Maternity Perks Program which entails a free«Parenting» magazine which I still have no received in the mail. Just a fair warning if you do this, though: «At the end of the preview period, if you wish to continue receiving Parenting, do nothing. You’ll receive 19 more issues and your credit card will be charged $ 20.00 for a total of 20 issues.» If I don’t receive it by April 16 I’m calling«Parenting» to cancel my subscription since I haven’t even gotten the first issue! All in all, I will continue to browse here for their leggings, a nice summer dress, or a cool top. Jeans, wired bras, and stretch mark lotion… not so much. Oh, of course, the employees make my shopping experience so much better – thank you ladies! Review #132
