affordable prices for the food. the place has no air conditioning and is stuffy. there’s not a fan in there either. they don’t serve fountain drinks like most places, the only drinks for purchase are horchata or canned sodas. they also sell the Mexican glass bottle cokes for $ 2 each. the horchata was disgusting and the worst I’ve tried which surprised me. the carne asada burrito was good and came with the standard fillings. the burrito measured up average to other places I’ve tried, although this burrito was slightly small. the tortilla was delicious and homemade. the carne asada was good. the papanachos was visually appealing but fell a little short of what I was expecting. it was sized well, but it was just ok, it wasn’t anything special.
Things for this place to improve:
Add air conditioner or at least a fan
Change the horchata recipe
Add fountain drinks

If you are looking for authentic Mexican food this your place. There menudo was spot on. The beans were reminiscent of the ones my grandmother use to make. They also have this amazing dish called papanachos… Everything you would want on nachos but on french fries! You can choose a meat to put on them too! Definitely will be going back.

Great new addition to the area. Their food tastes fresh and not greasy. They have a yummy nopal salsa and other sides to compliment your meal. All the meats are good but the Cabeza is absolutely delicious.

Really good Mexican food. I got the asada torta asada burrito and carnitas hard shell taco. Everything was fresh and delicous. Location is hidden but really happy to have found it. Very reasonable prices. Highly recommend giving it a try!

My review will be simple. This is absolutely the best Mexican food in the area. Possibly in the LA area and I have lived here for 34 years. The prices are incredibly low too. How can you beat ordering any variety of three tacos and get a can of soda with chips for $ 3.99 and that’s plenty for hearty lunch. I have tried just about everything on the menu now. Tortas, Tacos, Carnitas, Al Pastor, Shrimp & Fish Cervichie & Fish Tacos are all very fresh and their homemade salsas and roasted peppers are amazing. Be careful those roasted peppers can be hot. I call them the «widow makers». I have been having lunch here 2 to 3 days a week since it opened! Bravo Carnitas Michoacanas #2!

Just what Downey needed. Good Mexican food! Definitely will be coming back. I ordered the carnitas burrito w asada taco, both meats were very flavorful. And I just had to try their Barbacoa tacos they were really good too!!!

For some reason the plaza CM#2 is in has not been kind to other restaurants but it looks like CM#2 is going to be just fine! Tasty, freshly made, and authentic Mexican food. The carnitas and al pastor are on point! The place is small but clean and the staff is super cool.
Definitely a «go to» Downey spot!
