Great atmosphere. I feel like I visited at a wrong time because it was so busy. Took 15 minutes to get our ice cream. Which is ridiculous. The ice cream was just okay, nothing really special about it either.

I don’t think Oberweis deserves less than 5. We had Pumpkin pie shake and apple pie ice cream(something like that). Both were heavenly… and heavy as well !! It’s quite tough to try something else after having these shakes and ice creams. So, I’ll be visiting this place soon for other items from menu.

Let’s get the easy thing out of the way first, the ice cream is 5 stars. Now onto my frustrating problems. We usually go through the drive through and they are constantly messing up our orders. I’d usually blame it on their outdated intercom system with no confirmation order screen but when they repeat back the order it is correct. My wife absolutely loves the sprinkle waffle bowls but it seems like 4 out of 5 visits it comes in a plain waffle bowl. I swear I saw tears streaming down her cheek tonight after receiving a plain waffle bowl. Sometimes we put up a stink and have them correct it but other times we’re just too lazy and deal with a subpar bowl. I think we also paid extra for the sprinkle version so someone is just banking money cents at a time. There is also a similar problem with us ordering the extra cookie straw. An easy extra 25 cents they get out of me and then not deliver. That extra quarter is probably going into the same slush fund that the sprinkle waffle bowl surcharge is held. At the end of the day it’s the epitome of fat white people problems but it’s just frustrating to pay extra for something and then not have it delivered, on multiple and regular occasions. Also, what’s up with the moola card? Does it even give you anything. We’ve been going there for years and I doubt I have more than a dollar as a reward.

We visited at a pretty slow time. Cashier was very friendly. We ordered a kids ice cream and kids milkshake. It took a while to come out but our choices arrived with a smile. Place was clean although our table wasn’t wiped down but they were wiping tables as we sat down. Napkins are small(a pain for us moms) but available for the taking. They had fun games set out to play but they seemed very sticky(hence the ice cream shop). Overall, fun experience. We’ll be back.

This has to be the best Ice Cream/Dairy Shop I have ever been to. Best shakes in Chicago(second to Portillos Chocolate Cake Shake… duh) but it is an awesome place to go on a hot day or for a night time ice cream run. Can’t say enough good things about it

If you have a sweet tooth like me you’ll love this place! Everything’s so good and fresh. The seasonal ice cream flavors, individual yogurts, and the turtle candy sundae :)

I always love the milkey smell of an Oberweis store. I would say that their ice cream is pretty over priced but it is tasty nonetheless.

I like Oberweis, review of this location it’s pretty much the same set up, clean space, a friendly crew, and yummy ice cream! However, I miss booth seating options like some other Oberweis has. There’s plenty of parking since it’s connected to a strip mall, so yes there’s a parking lot.
Overall Oberweis: I usually get a single scoop old fashion ice cream. vanilla with strawberry topping, whip cream, pecans nuts, and a cherry on top, all in a tall glass cup with a long spoon:) Sometimes I also get the prepacked ice cream for home, «buy 3 get the 4th one free». I LOVE the Black Cherry and Vanilla my go to flavors!

Oberweis just isn’t what it used to be. First, let me say the ice cream is just as tasty, the store is just as clean, and the staff is just as friendly. It’s the way it’s run, by management. I hadn’t been there in a while. Every time I go, it seems to cost more. We have a Moola card. They«adjusted» the program so that now you get $ 3 off $ 300. Excuse me, but 1% ??? Are you kidding? Why even keep the thing in your wallet(I won’t anymore). You pay a deposit on their glass bottles. There is a sign on all their glass refrigerator doors warning the customers that if you return more than 12, they don’t give you your cash back. They’ll put it on a gift card for you so that you can only spend it at Oberweis. Yep, you gave them cash when you bought it, and they called it a deposit, but you don’t get it back if you return more bottles than they want to take back at one time. Is it even legal to call it a deposit, then? My husband is kind of the chatty type. He was talking quite a bit to one of the very friendly crew members, and he asked about that. The crew member smiled and, kind of reluctantly, admitted that a LOT of customers complain about it. Although it is delicious, it’s just not worth it. It’s ice cream. There are plenty of other places to go.

What more can you ask for from Oberweis Dairy! The ice cream can’t get any better and they also sell and deliver great tasting milk. The store was very clean. The service was fast and courtesy, and I love the smell of the waffle cones.

I used to go here a lot and always got the usual buy 3 get 4th quart free deal. The ice cream is super rich. anyway the LAST time I went(and it was the last ahem) I got my usual 4 favorite quarts and went to pay. There were a bunch of people in the regular line but oberweis does something I like: they have a takeout only line for just such as me with quarts to go for example. This makes tons of sense as the people getting cones in line are trying lots of ‘taste’ test spoons they offer and the big quart take out folks don’t want their ice-cream to melt and have to stand behind the folks with the family getting lots of stuff that needs to be made or scooped out when they just want to get going. Anyway the usual sign was up so I begin to put my stuff on the counter and this kinda surly lady worker sez hey ya can’t buy that here ya gotta wait in line. I sez but the sign is up like usual(she literally could just ring me up) but she sez well we aint doing that now– ya gotta wait. Hey, sign is up friend-o, you have to honor it. Else, take it down. duh I put all the ice cream back in the freezer silently, then left… and have never been back to any oberweis in over a year now and never will end of story. Hey I thank them! that stuff was helping me put on too much weight lol. Anyway, that’s the way to treat your customers??? Buh-bye.

This shop is about as good as any other in the chain. I used to live by the Aurora factory, so have high standards. The staff was really nice and the ice great was great as usual. The shop itself is not very large, though they have the requisite two chess tables. I am not a fan of the location though, kind of a strange corner with outdoor seating by the stop sign in the parking lot. Worth the occasional trip — the Apple Strudel ice cream is the best!

Oberweis is on a secret mission to add notches to my belt. Somehow, even when I’m stuffed beyond belief, I’m able to shimmy some room in my belly for their ice cream. No matter how many times I try to tell them«no whipped cream on my shake», they never listen. Oh well, can’t go wrong with a waffle cone of Birthday Cake… or Apple Strudel… or Pumpkin… or Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough… P. S. I would sanitize myself before and after playing with their chess/checkers/Uno games. They stick like none other!

These guys know butterfat ice cream, and provide huge portions. The shakes, ice cream sodas, sundaes… it’s all good here. Their chocolate sauce isn’t the best, but not at all bad. I really like their ice cream sodas, as they’re the only place around the Western Suburbs who makes them, unless you go into the city. A must try(and must share!) on a hot summer day. They are all over the western suburbs(Naperville on Rt 59, Wheaton on Butterfield, Westmont on Ogden, etc.) Their quality and staff are all up to par at all of their locations, with a minor exception on some occasions at the drive thru in the Westmont location — kids just want to have fun.
