NOTHAPPY!!! I called and set up an appointment for a pedicure for 2. The gentleman that answered the phone wasn’t even professional. He answered hello, instead of using the name of the business. I had to ask if this was JK nails? He said yes. He said no problem, 11:30 for two. We arrived at 11:25. No one acknowledged us. We picked out our polish color and sat down. Still no acknowledgement. Workers looked at us, however no one approached us. We sat there for 20 minutes. Still no acknowledgement. One gentlemen came over to escort the customer sitting next to us to the pedi chair. Put her in the station to soak her feet and then went outside for a cigarette. Still did not acknowledge us. We left. Went to Twilight nails on 75th and Main. Awesome!!! Go there instead.

Have to update my review of this place. It is going downhill quick! They raised their prices, but have not updated their service. The place is a little messy and ratty. Never enough people to give you even a simple manicure. Wait time is ridiculous. Last time I went, she did a terrible job, and she wasn’t feeling good either so she was coughing and in pain the whole time I was there. Then she only wanted to give me one coat of nail polish, when I always get two. Not going back here ever again.

From the outside it doesn’t look like much… definitely not a «fu-fu-» place but if you want a serious no chip mani and good pedi, «SNOW» is the girl to see, you won’t be disappointed!!!

This is hard to rate since I’ve been to JK Nails twice and my two experiences were completely different. My first time there wasn’t anything great but the second time was much better; it really depends on which manicurist you get. Don’t expect a fancy, glitzy nail salon because you will be let down. JK Nails is very basic at its best and rundown but for the price($ 12 mani, $ 15 french mani, $ 30 mani/pedi) you can get a decent manicure. This last time was very busy so I had to wait at least 20 minutes before it was my turn; luckily they had magazines to keep me occupied. I asked for an updated French manicure and wanted navy tips instead of the standard white and my manicurist had no problem doing it. I was quite happy with how my nails turned out and especially pleased that it only cost $ 15. If you want a quick, cheap manicure then check JK Nails out but if you want a real spa experience, then you’ll need to find another nail salon.

I have been going to this nail salon off and on for a while now, with no problems. this afternoon I went for a pedi and was surprised that the nail tech didn’t even feel like being there. Got a sub-par pedi that lasted for only 15 minutes. She kept looking at the clock… mind you the place had been open for an hour and a half when I got there, so it couldn’t have been lunch time! Needless to say when she was done with me, she disappeared. I got home and realized that she didn’t file my toes down… they are jagged! So next time I will go elsewhere!

I stopped here on a whim becasue the other place I planned on going to was closed. I went in for a quick manicure and to clean up the cuticles. It was cheap…$ 12.00 and pretty proficient. The tools that were used on my hand had been sanitized, so that was great. I just wish this place was a little cleaner. From the walls, the rugs and just the stations. Kinda grimy. I’d go back in a pinch, but will look for other alternatives. Also I thought it was rude that the owner was on the phone the whole time while she was working on another lady’s hands. Really???

Unfriendly Staff. The owner was having an argument in Chinese with the girl who was giving me a manicure. The girl was so upset she was sobbing while applying my nail polish. They also charge an extra $ 1 if you pay by credit card. Which is illegal in the state of Illinois. Will not be going back.

I tried this place when I was new to the area based on a recommendation from a friend. I didn’t have a bad experience here, nor did I have a great one. It was pretty average. It was a nice place — clean enough, etc. Not the cheapest place as far as small salons go. They were pretty quick given how busy they got after I got there. My biggest problem is that by the time I got home, my mani lost its shine and my polish job wasn’t as neat as I would’ve liked. I’d go back in a pinch, but I’ll probably continue to look elsewhere for a regular place.

I am new to DGrove and stumbled across this place. They are FAST and affordable. The only thing that is annoying is that they add on a convenience fee to use a credit card for any charge and you have to leave a cash tip. I would prefer to use a credit card for tip and services. However, I’ll keep coming back as the service is good, I can usually walk right in without an appmt, and they do a very nice job.

If you are looking for a GREAT nail salon at good prices– this is it. Fan the owner, is excellent. She was at another salon then opened her own shop. Her staff does an outstanding job. They are closed on Tuesday’s but open the other 6 days. Most of the staff speaks English so communication is good. I love it that they sterilize all of their pedicure equipment, and tubs with every customer. That is hard to find in many nail shops. I’ve been a steady customer for years. I’ve tried other salons closer to where I live — but keep going back — worth the trip.

$ 16.95 pedicure? I’m in. That’s the cheapest I’ve found, and fortunately the service didn’t suffer as a result of the low price. Pretty standard fare here, but the staff was very friendly and took their time without rushing through the pedicure, which was nice. I went around 11 a.m. on a Saturday, and there was no wait, which I also liked.
