Elana Darrus Makeup & Hair

Kristina did my client’s makeup for her wedding this past Saturday. She did a wonderful job. In particular, the bride’s eye makeup was stunning and it was very similar to a picture the bride had previously selected to be imitated. Kristina did a wonderful job using airbrush and also applied false eyelashes. I was impressed with how careful she was to ensure the bride was comfortable wearing the lashes. She was focused, pleasant and clearly determined to provide excellence in service. Pre-​service communication was also top-​notch. Elana was diligent in ensuring that everything went perfectly for the bride. I highly recommend this company.

If I could hug Elana every day, I would. She runs her business wonderfully and only hires the BEST artists. I had about 5 trials with other companies… and then I went Lauren from Elana’s team. HOLY AMAZING. She is perfection when it comes to makeup application. She made me feel like myself yet bridal. Took my suggestions and applied them strategically. Elana is also so great to work with as the middle man. She lets her artists SHINE.
Lauren made EVERYONE in my party feel gorgeous, especially my mother who rarely «does herself up.» Everyone look elegant and stunning and it stayed all day.
I also had Lauren meet me at my hotel for a touch up between the ceremony and reception. It was just what I needed to continue feeling beautiful all day.

I had someone else do my hair (a family friend). Someone from Elana’s team did my party’s hair and although we weren’t SUPER stoked about the styles, I spoke honestly with Elana and she tried to rectify it. That in itself speaks volumes to the type of business owner she is and the woman that she is, too.
So thankful.

I loved my hair and makeup done for my wedding!!! I had Jarmin do my hair and Lauren do my makeup. Jarmin did a great job, but if you tell her what you want or show her a picture she does it TOO perfect (I know that sounds goofy!). I asked her to mess it up a bit and then it was EXACTLY what I wanted. I absolutely loved it! Some of my bridesmaids had a bit of trouble though. After 30 minutes, quite a few of the girls had to recurl their hair and heavily spray it so that it would hold. I know that it was a very humid day, so I’m sure that had a lot to do with it. The hair schedule also did go over time quite a bit, it might have been easier to have two ladies do the whole groups hair (there was the bride as well as 12 additional girls within a time frame of 6 am to noon). Lauren did a fantastic job with my makeup. Every tiny flaw that I had (redness on cheeks and a few pimples) were completely gone! I looked and felt like a model. The only problem I had was that once she finished all the rest of my bridesmaids and the moms makeup, she had to do touch ups on my eyes and lips, but afterward it was perfect!

Looking for a hair and makeup artist when you’re getting married can be a difficult experience! A few months ago I saw my friends hair and makeup in her wedding photos and I immediately fell in love with Elana’s work. Elana and I had been emailing back and forth and today we had my hair makeup trial. My experience was just awesome!!! First, Elana’s home studio is gorgeous. The space is clean, professional and very welcoming. Elana’s team is just fantastic and the hair artist she brought in did an amazing job with my hair. I had a look I found online and she did a great job re-​creating the look in a way that represented my taste. My makeup was everything I wanted it to be and more. Elana worked with my request for a casual and natural look and it turned out GREAT! I would add pictures but I don’t want my fiancé seeing them quite yet, so I’ll be sure to add some after our wedding day.
