Lucky to give this place one star! We use to frequent visit this location once a week. No ones ever in here but we loved it and food was always great. Went In for lunch with my husband the other day and when the girl rang is up wrong and also messed up both of our orders the owner Kurt laughed at it then yelled for us to pay him for the $ 2.00 difference she had wrongly entered it. He was so rude and ridiculous. I’ve never seen an adult act like that or argue across the restaurant. We will ever visit here again as well as ending all of our corporate catering from here. Please stay away your better off at all the other options on Ogden where you will at least be treated with respect.

I was pleasantly surprised. The price was a bit high I thought until I seen how big the pieces of chicken were. WOW!!! Big, juicy and tender chicken. And it tasted good too! I will definitely be going back!

I live around the corner and had never been here. I love Italian beefs, and decided to give them a try as I had little time. Blah! Tasted like it was soaked in red sauce. No beef flavor. Giardiniera was OK but the bread was old and dry, as was the beef.

I had dinner at this Brown’s the other night and was glad to see that rude person I mentioned in my previous thread was gone. The food was as good as I remember from when we ordered in Brown’s during my childhood.

Browns chicken use to be a sponsor of the Chicago Bears and the chicken was good. Fast foward and today the chicken is overpriced and not crispy. The only item that was fair in price and tasty were the beef sandwiches and the chicken livers. Not worth your time or money.

Beer battered cod and shrimp are terrific for those meatless Fridays during lent. Staff always friendly.

I tried the fried chicken on a whim. I am not a fan of the seasoning, or the batter. I think they have the equipment in that kitchen for something fantastic and a few tweaks in their recipe would definitely change things around

Browns Chicken and Pasta is a Chicagoland chain of restaurants serving not just chicken and pasta, but other eats common to Chicagoland like the Italian Beef and even Hot dogs. While many people frequently associate the name Browns Chicken with the word massacre, the chain is still alive and kicking in the area. I noticed that Browns sign stated«Dogs» and figured I’d try the Chicago Style Hot dog served by Browns. The hot dog I received came on a dry and stiff on the outside poppy seed bun. You’ll notice I said on the outside, because here’s why it wasn’t on the inside. The tomatoes on the hot dog looked as though they had been smushed, and several hot dogs worth of mustard, relish and wet onion were applied topped off by a giant pickle which was roughly the width of the dog itself. This was a very poorly made hot dog, it had a bad bun and extremely excessive condiment application. I couldn’t detect if there were any celery salt but I doubt it. The peppers on it weren’t too hot. Overall for a Hot Dog made using the typical stock ingredients this is among the worst I’ve found. This is actually worse than the Chicago Style Hot Dog I had at Sonic Drive-in. Avoid the dogs here.

Decent food and average $$. For a quick meal it is a good deal.

This is a pretty good northern version of fried chicken. It has a buttermilk based batter but not much other spices or flavor at all. It does have a very nice breading that is not too greasy but has a smooth taste. I prefer a southern fried chicken with spices and layers of flavors but I would recommend this chicken if spicy is not your bag.

Restaurant Review I have never had Brown’s chicken in my life, always been a popeye kind of guy; but I was hungry and craving fried chicken during a recent conference and came across this establishment. The fried chicken itself was crispy, but lacked the season I am accustomed to. Also the price was higher than popeye’s with coupon. All and all I think fried chicken at other places is better. Service was quick though Pro– fried chicken comfort food, fast checkout Con– lacking in flavoring, greasy, the premium sides(mac/cheese) are expensive Hidden deal– combo meals cut down on the cost, not sure if this place has coupons

I’ve always loved Browns chicken but like Mona F. said, most of them in the area have closed. I took advantage of stopping here yesterday when I was in the neighborhood. We did the drive through. My son loved the chicken tenders and was thrilled about how large the ‘large’ size fries was. I had to remind the drive thru worker that we ordered a soft drink. The corn fritters are wonderful. The worker specifically asked whether I wanted powdered sugar on them or not. I gave an enthusiastic ‘YES’. but of course, when we got home, I saw that there was no powdered sugar on the fritters. The fried mushrooms are terrific. I wish there were more Browns Chicken locations because the food is really good.

I’ve ordered only a couple different things on the menu, and one of them kills the Portillos version: the italian sausage & beef. The au jus they use in their recipe for italian beef is more tasty compared to the competition. Adding the hot peppers makes every bite perfect. The staff is not all that friendly, but I guess the food makes up for it. I was looking up their locations; its strange that so many of them have closed down in the area… hmm… ??? But as long as this one stays open, I’ll still be a customer!

Hello; I stopped in at your Downers Grove location last Thursday June 3rd, it was 8:30, I ordered 2 wing dinners, pulled up to the window to pay and the young man said they only had 6 wings, I said no problem, I’ll wait. He told me his manager was getting ready to close and wouldn’t cook any more wings. It’s 8:30, your open until 9pm? It was for my kids, so I went across town to the KFC. I worked in a couple of pizzerias growing up and we took orders until closing, the owner said you owe it to your customers. Having been in the auto industry the last 15 years, I have stayed many a night with customers well past closing time, what I’m saying is you have not earned my business. Rick Carlson
