I was looking into installing hardwood floors and I drive by Apex all the time so I decided to stop in. Just like the last reviewer, they show you all their work in high end homes, references, etc. etc. I told them I just wanted one room done(approx. 600sqft) and asked for a basic quote. Remember, I’m only looking at 600 sqft… They quoted me $ 25,000!!! Really?! No thank you.

When you go, drive your best car. My husband and I are from a neighboring state. We undertook a huge remodeling project for two rooms. Since we were at the Miele showroom fairly close by and saw an advertisement for Apex, we decided to give it a try. It’s a small shop but as we found out, it apparently caters to people who have a little more dough then they perceived us to have. The salesman was very friendly but kept steering us back to flooring we told him we didn’t want(cha ching). They specialize in hand-scraped flooring, not what we were wanting to buy but they did have the kind of flooring we were looking for. After about 15 minutes or close to that of telling us about all the wealthy homes they’ve put flooring in; we were ready to leave. Finally, he said to us, «What kind of cars do you drive?» Not realizing right away what he was getting at, my husband told him how proud he was to have a Honda that was 18 years old with almost half a million miles on it. I drive a newer car — one that’s 9 years old. We laughed about it when we told him. IMMEDIATELY, he looked at another salesman and said, «This is the guy you want to talk to» and left us. I was so burned, we spent about 5 minutes with the other guy and left. On the way out, I looked at my husband and cringed. I said, «Do you think we should go back in and tell him about the BMW parked in the garage?» So, when you go, take your best car if you want the kind of service you should have. I can’t imagine that salesperson is an asset to the company. He purposely lost a sale that could have brought in 5 figures-but then again, maybe he was the owner and didn’t want to piddle around with a measly little sale.
