Their carnitas tacos are tender, juicy and flavorful and their tamales are incredible. A hidden secret for those of us that know what real Mexican food is. Haven’t found a place that comes even close in the area. Don’t listen to Brian C. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He wants your generic mex-American crap. Chips, salsa and hard shells is not what this is about. Fresh authentic ingredients, made to order and not scooped from a steam table.

This place is very affordable but a dump and the help either don’t understand simple English or don’t care. I clearly asked if they had hard shell tacos and the waitress said yes. I love to eat so I told her to bring out some of every kind of hard tacos. They came out and they were all soft. I asked where the hard shell tacos were. She looked at me like I had 3 heads. This place has no sour cream. No guacamole. No fried tortillas and salsa. Very very poor quality. No hard shell tacos

What a solid gem. 5 soft tortilla tacos for $ 8.50 is awesome, but what’s even more awesome, is that these bad boys are fresh, spicy, and just downright wonderful. A great way to eat. So happy I came here. Might be an everyday stop.

I’m not a fan of Mexican food mostly because I’ve never experienced anything good from the cuisine when I did try, but these tacos were delicious. I’m sure tacos is not the be all and end all of Mexican food, but this is a good start for me. I had the taco with the sautéed onions and cheese, forgot the meet, but the soft taco you could tell we made of real corn and is very important to taco as qudoba and chipotle don’t realize. You can pick your topping of onions, cilantro, and peppers to finish it off. Also great sizes. I want to try the tongue next time.

Absolutely delicious. This has to be the best taqueria I have been to in the NYC metro area(on par with some of the best tacos in Southern California). I got pollo tacos and they were fantastic. The condiments were extremely fresh and the meat was tender and tasty. The lady taking my order was an absolute charm. I would come back for her alone! The only complaint I have is that I found a small bone in one of my chicken tacos. Not a deal breaker by any means, and I will be back next time I am in the area. My taste buds profusely thank the staff here!

this place is so great, i can’t even explain the joy on my husband’s face when i suggest we lunch here. tacos are excellent and ingredients fresh. there isn’t designated parking for the place, but that’s not a big deal and it’s a cash only establishment. bonus that during the world cup, they had it playing on their flatscreen. service is always polite and sweet and fast and we always have a good time here. it’s also pretty fairly priced, you can get a whole meal for two for less than $ 14.

So we decided to try this place and we are very glad we did– it will be one of our regular places, now. Our waitress was sweet and efficient, but didn’t speak English much, and we don’t speak any Spanish, so it was a little bit of an adventure. A customer helped us figure out what we wanted– we weren’t sure about portion sizes, and it was perfect. We ordered a plate of tacos– the spicy pork, and a plate of guesadillas, then shared and it was plenty. We experimented a little with which sauce to use, and discovered we liked both– one was a little spicier than the other. The prices are very reasonable, but they don’t take credit cards to make sure to have cash.

We picked Taqueria Pancho Villa for lunch one day due to the positive reviews here on Unilocal. We love taquerias. We love dive places. This place is a huge disappointment, unfortunately. The menu, ambiance, and service are all just fine. Exactly what one would expect at a Dover, NJ taqueria. The waitress spoke decent English, there were tables cleaned and set, and we sat immediately and were given menus. We ordered tacos, tamales, a torta, and a quesadilla. The tacos come undressed; just meat and tortilla, which is great so you can add your own salsas, cilantro, onions, pico, etc. I was pointed to the topping/dressing bar near the kitchen, where I brought my taco plate. I love fresh chopped cilantro on my tacos and there was a full bowl on the bar. As I grabbed the tongs to get the cilantro, several fruit flies flew out of the bowl. When I poked around the cilantro with the tongs I discovered that there were literally dozens of flies IN the cilantro, both living and dead. Uggh… A couple of the salsas looked safe, but I’m sure the fruit flies visited their bowls at some point, too. Beyond this huge issue, the tacos were fair at best. The tamale was dry and flavorless. The torta and quesadilla were just barely average, but at this point we’re just figuring out the politest way to finish and get out of there. Needless to say, we will not be repeat customers.

My absolute favorite taco place. My husband and I always get the the pancho villa tacos. It’s steak, hot peppers and onions. Make sure you add all the condiments. Cilantro, raw onion, pico de gallo and green sauce. Delish! We also always get the torta carne asada. Bread toasted on the grill with mayo, avocado, lettuce tomato. The most delicious sandwich on earth. We always get the chicken tamale as well. Really moist and perfectly seasoned. Best of all, the prices are really reasonable.

I just went there with a friend for lunch and I had three al pastor tacos and two chorizo tacos. They were phenomenal. They give you a bunch of sauces, onions, cilantro, and more to flavor them to your liking. I used to live in NJ and I’m sad I never knew about this place while I lived there.

Such a great find! BYOB, the waitstaff is friendly, but most importantly the food is delicious! The handmade corn tortillas really make the tacos sing and the bar of toppings is fresh and fully stocked. Quite possible some of the best Mexcian food my husband and I have had. We ordered an assortment of tacos and tamales(which were so large we had to take home– they were still delicious reheated on the grill the next day) Then we sated our tongues with a delicious flan. We will be back!

Thrilled to be back on the East Coast(aka home), Taco Quest took its talents to nearby Dover, NJ to scope out the taco scene. Dover is largely Latino, so I knew I’d be able to find something. After reading the scant reviews on this place, we settled on Pancho Villa. It’s small, dumpy, and we were the only white people in the restaurant. I could tell that this was going to be good. I got the pastor and steak tacos(3 total) and my brother got 5 of different varieties. They have a taco bar with various fixings – cilantro and onions(the staples!), radishes, jalapeño, and a ton of salsas. Our waitress, who was very nice, brought them all over to the table – we refilled during the meal. Now, the tacos! Single-corn(I’m used to double) that were clearly homemade and absolutely delicious. The pastor was superb, only helped by the sweetness of the pineapple. The cilantro and onions gave it a wonderfully nice bite. Steak was also excellent cooked really well. Totally authentic. I was thrilled, especially because NJ isn’t know for Mexican food. This place, though? Outstanding. Also recommended(I don’t know the Spanish translation): the fried pork tacos. Delish. I’ll be back every time I come home. Definitely.

Like the other post mentioned, it’s a hole in the wall. It’s mostly filled with regulars. I usually get 5 tacos and a sidral. The best part is that the tacos come out plain, just the meat of your choice and the tortillas. You then go to the fixings bar and decide what you want to put on: cilantro, onions, radishes, etc. Theres usually 4 or 5 different home made salsas to pick from as well as bottled sauce. 2 people, 10 tacos, 2 sodas, all for $ 20 bucks. Can’t beat it.

Tiny, hole in the wall taqueria with a friendly waitress, cozy décor and futbol on el televisión. 4.50 gets you three excellent tacos, or if you’re crazy like me you can get 5 excellent tacos and a Jarritos for around 10 bucks with tip. They also play a spanish satellite radio station programmed by somebody with excellent taste in corridos. What more could you possibly ask for? Also, it’s BYOB. Yeah.
