I am looking for a local butcher shop that carries quality meats in comparison to picking up meets at my local grocery store but at a reasonable price. Do you offer a big box variety specials any time of year that we could shop at a lower cost that than the typical grocery stores. We would like to fill our freezer with a variety of meets at a more reasonable rate and higher quality. This would be my first experience with a butcher shop and with five children cost savings is very important would love some feed back based on my family’s needs. I have never been there and would like some feedback from regular customers that could benefit my situation. Help me out.

Nice selection of meats. We enjoy getting the bulk boxes and sampler packs. They also have traeger supplies!

Haass’ has the best meat in Dover. I always regret when I am short on time and grab meat at the grocery store, rather than going to Haass’ because the quality is absolutely noticeable. The short ribs are my favorite thing to buy here, and they will also thinly slice meat for you if you ask which is awesome. They also have patties which they freeze for dogs made of raw meat and vegetables; as well as marrow bones for dog which are much more affordable here than at any pet store. Our dog loves the patties; the marrow bones are of much better quality, this is the one bone that after she has licked clean of marrow, she still continues to chew on, all of the other bones we have gotten our dog she doesn’t care about after a few days; over a month later and she has not lost interest in the Haass’ bone!

Whenever I am in the area I go to stock up on their bacon, because it has to be some of the best bacon for miles; Vastly superior to anything you could get in the supermarket. While I am waiting for them to prep my bacon I am always sorely tempted to buy everything else they have because it all looks amazing.

We had a company Christmas party on Dec 20 th. Hass was holding a pig trade from QA fair so we decided to have it cooked. They did an awesome job smoking the pig ! Great taste no sauce required !! Everyone went home with meat. It was a good time for the staff. Thank you Hass

Absolutely the best meats in or around Dover. Family owned and operated for decades, you can be sure that the meat in their case was walking around a short time earlier. No fillers, no coloring, no nonsense. If you love beef, pork, or chicken, they’ve got the freshest cuts around. I recently found their sausage products and have been overwhelmed. In an effort to stay healthy, my wife and I decided on the chicken or turkey sausage instead of pork, and the masterful blend of seasonings make it so you’d never know the difference. Mixing the turkey sausage into an egg white omelet makes for an incredible(and healthy) breakfast. The hour are a bit unusual, so make sure they’re open before making the drive. Like any REAL butcher, they’re closed on certain days to butcher the freshest meats so their display cases are well stocked. One of my other favorite things is the selection of smoked bones and pig ears. I always pick up a few for my dog, and he loves them! Since they use the same smoking process as for their meats, I can understand why he goes nuts when I come home from Haass’.

Note: Not open Mon-Tue-Sun. This is a REAL butcher shop and even smells like the ones in the«old country” – smokey and good. The breakfast bundle(bacon, scrapple, sausage) is a good deal. There are always specials. The frozen flank steaks are a bargain and often small, making them a really good item for 1 – 2 people and they fit in the freezer. They carry a wide selection of frozen veg, even fish, dog treats and jams, etc. The meats are very good, primarily the pork, but I like the flank steak and hamburger. You may see an Amish buggy pull up and the Amish farmer’s wife get out to do her marketing.

Local, Local, Local!!! The wife and I are on a support your small town businesses kick. This place has been around since the 1950’s and the meat is great. nice selection and fresh. I do have to admit they almost kicked me out of the shop when I asked«Do you use pink slime?» We go once a week for all our meats. Did I mention Local!!!

I have a confession to make: I like real food. No pink slime, no «filler», no nonsense. Haass is only open 4 days a week, and I try to plan my grocery shopping schedule around that, even though their schedule and my schedule are worlds apart. Not only do they have real meat, but they actually got a little offended when my husband cracked a pink slime joke. They take their meat seriously, I guess. We bought 10 lbs of chicken breast(discount for quantities of 10 lbs or more), a rack of baby back ribs, two porterhouse steaks, pork chops, and some ground beef. And two Flintstones looking dinosaur bones for the dogs, which made them very happy. The dogs, I mean. The butchers didn’t express an opinion.
