I’ve ate here for years, usually enjoyed there food. The food is different than most places I eat but not bad just different. New cook? Changed the recipes? I don’t know what happened today it was not good sent it back they made another one it was worse The food was never anything to rave about but it was alway consistent and good place to take anyone to. not too spicy not too anything just ok, now I’m going to avoid it

I’ve been coming to this restaurant pretty much all my life and today was one of the worst experiences in a restaurant I’ve ever had. My enchiladas were cold, the food orders were completely messed up, and to top it all off there was a huge cockroach under my table. When I let the manager know about the cockroach she explained that at least it wasn’t a baby one because they’re the worst. She didn’t even go over and pick it up and still charged us for our food. My family has been coming here for 20+ years and sadly this will be the last time we’re going.

Nice little unassuming spot. I tried the shredded beef tacos and was very surprised by the depth of flavor. Even the obligatory rice and beans were very good, especially the beans. Would be nice if they served beer but you may BYOB. A definite do-again.

I have been to this place several times and it has never let me down. The staff is very friendly and will go out of their way to accommodate their customers in whatever they can. Food comes out pretty fast, but not fast enough to where you know it was just thrown together and microwaved. Their cheese enchiladas are out of this world. I recommend getting their combo because the rice and beans are so good! Will continue to be coming every time I’m in town.

We were traveling through Douglas looking for a good Mexican food place. Stopped here based on reviews of others. Family and I loved it! The food was really good. The chicken tacos had very nice white meat chicken and it was very tender. Also loved the beef burro with red sauce. The place was clean and the service was great. Definitely worth trying if you are in the area.

Family style food… nice staff and good prices. I went with a friend who brought her 17 month old son and while he is getting better at not throwing food. he still is a bit of a disaster area. The friendly people who worked there did not get testy about the mess, and to be honest the kid liked the food! He’s a picky boy. We all enjoyed it. Good shredded beef tacos, huge chimichangas and tasty horchata. What’s not to like?

I have been slightly jaded by good Mexican food living near the border for so long, so my review has this disclaimer: Mexican food is commonplace in Arizona. Therefore, it(the food) is a personal matter of taste, presentation and, to some extent, tradition. What sets most Mexican cuisine apart is the little regional flares or unique touches that an establishment puts on its food. La Fiesta does just that: it upholds the true-to-style flavor and presentation of Sonoran border Mexican food. Like most good-food Mexican restaurants, La Fiesta has a simple, low key décor and dining experience but makes up for the lack thereof by offering fresh, hot dishes at a very reasonable price. When in Douglas, take the time to stop and enjoy your own Fiesta at La Fiesta Café. Final Rating: 4.3 Stars Food: 4.4 Stars Service: 4 Stars Cleanliness: 4 Stars Atmosphere: 3.5 Stars

We have lived near Douglas for years but only recently tried La Fiesta. What a great place that we’ve been missing. The tacos are superb. The refried beans delicious, cooked with a hint of real lard like they should be. Enchiladas are some of the best rolled style we’ve ever had. The red chile beef chimi served enchilada style with sour cream was very very good. You should treat yourself to the guacamole as appetizer or to go with the meal. Even the small serves two easily. Guacamole served on a small bed of shredded lettuce with tortilla chips arranged to look like the petals of a huge flower… impressive. The chips and salsa were also very good. Prices good and portions large… highly recommended and we will be regulars three for sure.

This is the reincarnation of the legendary La Fiesta that used to be on 8th Street. Same people, and they brought their recipes. It’s a great variation on AZ-Sonora cuisine with a little southern NM thrown in. The red chile sauce is fantastic. Way above average, 4 stars, plus one extra for the historical significance.(BTW The place that took over La Fiesta’s old space on 8th is mediocre — not worth the visit.)
