We have been regulars here for years. However, based on our recent experience we will never be back. We were charged for additional salsa, an extra dollar because our kids split an entrée. I added lettuce and tomato to my enchilada– 2.00! I mean seriously. I have done business here for years and never been charged for all these things. Definitely advise those with kids to skip this place. Not worth all the extra charges for EVERYTHING

Old favorite have some of the best chimichangas in town and surrounding areas. The chimichangas is best with their frozen margaritas. I highly recommend if you’re in the Dothan area

Nice spot for some quick decent Mexican food. The service was extremely fast and courteous. It’s hard to find any really good Mexican food in the south but this place isn’t too far off.

Ate there for the first time in a while and even though I’m not a Mexican food fan I have to admit is was very good. The salsa they make fresh is the best I’ve had any where and the cheese quesaddilla was fantastic. And hey, gotta mention the service there. There’s two twins that work there that have been around the Dothan area serving for as long as I remember and I’ve been there 35 years. They are fast, efficient and don’t worry about your drink getting low! Try this place, you’ll like it.

Okay, I will admit I am a total food snob sometimes and for whatever reason, after living in Texas and Florida, I had little to no hope for a «Mexican» restaurant in the middle of Alabama, but this was the pick of a local friend for a lunch date while I was passing through. *deep breath* Consider me humbled and apologetic. Mexican Connection — I am sorry for assuming you all would not have great Mexican food, served with a smile and a nice southern drawl. You all were awesome and I think you are better than at least 3 of my top 5 Mexican places in Tampa and Orlando. Yes, this is American-style Mexican with lots of cheese on everything, but that can be totally delicious! The husband and I both had the El Señor — a cheese enchilada, a beef burrito and a beef taco. Cheese enchiladas are my test item for most Mexican restaurants as there is nowhere to hide low quality ingredients in a cheese enchilada. Mexican connection offered deliciously melty enchiladas with a tasty red sauce and good quality corn tortillas. My only suggestion for improvement would be diced onions, but the red sauce did have some onions and peppers in it which add nice textural contrast. The beef for the taco and burrito was well seasoned and tasty. Overall, a great meal and some place we would try again, if it weren’t ½ day’s drive from our home.

I had the cheese bites. They were so good. The staff is very friendly. I liked the bigger place on 231. I can’t wait to go back.

Fair is probably fair. Not a lot to get excited about. Seafood quesadilla had that pink fake crabmeat, and a lot of cheese. It was hot and pretty good, as the cheese handily drowned out the fake ‘seafood’. One hour from the coast should prolly have shrimp. Tacos were also fair, with good flavor to the meat. What can you say about a taco? The chips were saturated in oil, but crispy and tasted fresh. Salsa was best part of meal. Service was good.

The staff here is the image of southern hospitality. The food is on par for Mexican food in the area. The food was fast, the staff was attentive, and it was overall a great meal!

Service was friendly. Food did not fit Mexican quality. My tortilla soup tasted like vegetable soup. Margaritas were priced great($ 3.50) but have tasted better. Will not be going again.

This is the first place I ever had Mexican food when I was seriously around 6 years old and I am 31 now. I am not sure if the same people still own the place now but my Mom was good friends with them I was a frequent eater :)… I am not a huge fan of meat so I would always get the bean burrito which was HUGE. On my next road trip to Florida I will be stopping into Dothan and the Mexican Connection is where I will be stopping for lunch or dinner.

Too bad there is no way to give a negative rating on this venue. I’m not sure this is actually a restaurant, much less a Mexican restaurant. AWFUL excuse for an eating establishment.

Had an early dinner here. I liked the fact that they served limes w/the beer. It seems that most places outside of Texas only have lemons. The waitress, Amy, was really cool. She was attentive, but not overly so, like some places where the waitstaff just hang out at the table jonesing for a tip. We started off with the supreme nachos, which weren’t half bad. I should have stopped there, but for some reason felt compelled to order the enchiladas, if for no other reason than to see how«authentic» enchiladas are cooked in southern Alabama. Considering that i was nowhere near the Mexican border, i can’t say they were the worst i’ve ever had. They were really cheesy. The enchilada sauce tasted like it came out of a can. But again, we’re nowhere near the Mexican border. The refried beans were seasoned well and the rice wasn’t exactly Spanish rice, but it had a good flavor. Overall, considering that this is Mexican food in Alabama, I’d recommend this place and would definately eat here again the next time I’m in town.
