No matter what you order, you still taste curry. If you happen to enjoy curry, that’s fine, but I do not. Especially in a gyro, which is supposed to be Mediterranean. The bar service is also horrible. They do have the drink prices on the menu, which is nice, but they charge $ 8 a glass for Yuengling Black&Tan, a domestic, non-craft beer. I ordered a Stella Artois that came in a standard, room temperature pint glass. Waiter wasn’t able to tell me what all they had on tap. Will not be going to this restaurant again.

The food was wonderful and the environment was super nice. Looks like a hole in the wall until you walk in. We were very pleasantly surprised. The hummus dip was fabulous and the falafel sandwich was killer! We will definately be back again!

Wish I had an option to give zero stars… Canned food from Walmart made into so called Indian dish sheek kabab… Horrendous … And these guys take people for granted… Most of the curries taste frozen and warmed up to serve… not a hint of fresh food… sub standard restaurant … roadside vendors are a lot better

Taj kabobs are soooooo good, it takes awhile to get your food. Everyone moves pretty slow so dont be in a hurry. Worth the wait tho!

Nerp. Never again. Can’t even describe. Unless you know what you are getting into, don’t venture here.

Never ever order the gyro… It is not your traditional Greek gyro. There is a faulty red sauce that drowns the meat and makes the bread soggy. It tastes terrible! They ask you what spice level you want. If you get medium, your mouth will burn. I know some Indian food is hot, but this was supposed to be Greek and I’m honestly confused as to why there is a spice level option at all. The carry out service is terrible. Being new to Indian food, I didn’t know how to pronounce naan. The woman behind the counter snickered and laughed at me! She looked like a high school student and couldn’t have been more disrespectful. She must have been dating the waiter that followed her around like a lost puppy… Because he seemed annoyed every time someone entered the restaurant and interrupted their quality time. I will not be back. Judging by the lack of business they are having, I’d say other people have made the same decision.

This is the only place that I eat when I am in Dothan and that is sometimes 3 nights in a row like it was on my last trip to the area. The food is extremely fresh and consistent, I have been eating here over the last couple of years and it has always been spot on. On my last trip through, I had the pleasure of being seated in Michael’s area. He was extremely pleasant and gave me plenty of time to look over the menu. After I told him what dishes I had already eaten, he asked if he could make some suggestions for me if I wanted to try something new. I let him know that I would be eating at Taj for three nights and that I would like recommendations for each night. He suggested the Methi chicken curry, chicken mango curry, and the butter chicken for a nice variety since each dish is made up of a different base. Fabulous suggestions! I’m a bird-aholic so all chicken dishes was fine with me. Many thanks to Michael for opening my eyes up to some of the other dishes that I might not have tried before. I am an adventurous eater, but when you have someone like Michael actually explain what each dish tastes like, then it made it very easy to make up my mind. I love Taj, I will always eat here anytime I am in Dothan, and I highly recommend you spend some time with Michael going over the menu… he won’t steer you wrong for sure.

Thanks to Unilocal,we found this place while driving back from Atlanta. Saved us from the Ross Clark Circle vortex of fast food. The garlic naan and Paneer Masala appetizer was legit and let us know we were in for a treat. Also ordered mutter paneer, palak paneer, and chicken Jalfrezi curry. All were fantastic. Dwayne was great with his recommendations and knowledge of the menu. Will stop here any time I’m traveling through Dothan or even if I get remotely close!

Very disappointed with the food. Service was ok. We have eaten in many Indian restaurants this does not even come close.

One of Dothans best spots. The Malai methi and Saagwala are personal favorites. The naan and gyros rock! Cool atmosphere to just relax as well.

Taj has some of my favorite Indian food. They have huge variety from curries to soups. And for the person who doesn’t like Indian(although butter chicken should be good for anyone), their Greek is delicious as well. Another perk is that they’re open late and open on Sundays.

I was definitely very pleased with the food and service provided at this location. The waiter was very helpful in selecting our dishes that could accommodate needs in our party(I.e. Vegetarian). In addition I found that the goat curry was very delicious and the basmati rice was well cooked to accompany our meal. The highlight of our meal was the lamb kabob which was tender and delicious.

I think this may be my new favorite restaurant in the area! We had the most helpful server who brought samples of the different sauces to try before we ordered. Garlic naan is delicious, mango curry was sweet but amazing. Even my picky 6 year old ate the mango curry! We will definitely come back and send friends!

We love Taj! Their chicken tikka masala is the best I’ve ever had! The naan and homemade hummus is a staple when we order from Taj. One of the top 3 restaurants in the Dothan area. We love Taj!

Absolutely wonderful from top to bottom. Our waiter could tell we were new to Indian food, so he gave us a free appetizer and suggested we save our naan for the meal. My wife had a sweet chicken curry that was phenomenal, while I went for a more savory and spicy shrimp curry. Great choices. Great service. Our waiter was more than willing to help explain menu choices. Will definitely go back.

Great restaurant! My wife and I stopped in for a vegan lunch. We ordered the vegetable biryani and the malai kofta. We got them at a level 3 for spiciness. We also had a side of Roti bread. This was an excellent lunch choice. Great atmosphere, great staff, and delicious food. We will check out the grocery store before we leave to grab some spices!

This is where you go when you want to hang out and meet friends and maybe eat, maybe drink, and watch events on the big screen, or sit fireside in the main dining area. Good Indian, especially for Dothan. Try it, expand your repertoire and kani ka xxx! Try the Chicken Tikka Masala, it’s a good starting place.

We found this restaurant on one of our trip to Panama City(from Atlanta). Coming from city like Atlanta, where you can find a good number of decent Indian restaurants, we were not expecting much. However, this seemed right stop from distance perspective,(kind of in middle of Atlanta and Panama City) for dinner. We were so delighted that we made a stop here for awesome dinner, and refreshing ambiance. They had great service, waiters were nice, food was good, suggestions were awesome. We ordered Dal Makhani, Paneer Bhurji, Eggplant Bharta, Dal Tadka, Garlic Naan, Bullet Naan. Panner Bhurji and Eggplant Bharta were«the best». I never found so tasty Eggplant Bharta in Atlanta or restaurants in India. The smoky taste was mouthwatering. I would say if you are anywhere near Dothan AL, do try this restaurant.
