Generally, I love to support small, local businesses. But when I can’t, and I have to shop in a big chain store, it’s easy to do so guilt-​free when the employees are so charming and helpful. I’ve been to this location a few times now: once to browse with a coffee in hand and twice with my kids in tow for story time and shopping exclusively in the kiddo section. I have had such great experiences with the staff each time. They have patiently answered questions (mine and my toddler’s) about everything from books (in and out of stock), games, and even general questions about Dothan.

I spend soo much money here its insane. I LOVE reading. This Barnes and Noble is awesome. The customer service here is outstanding. I cant walk down an isle without a can I help you. Books are overpriced but I dont mind spending a little extra for the experience.

The pizza at the Starbucks was less than good. I don’t know why I really ordered it because I usually go there for the drinks and pastries. Other than that I don’t recommend the pizza.

Very good bookstore with a cozy café feel. Only negative arises approximately 1 hour before close when employees begin a scramble to «close shop» early by upturning chairs and turning off case lights in the café. Management should address this issue.

I have always liked barnsey since it was a single store in new york. It has been an excellent source of inspiration for what to read next and almost uniformly the staff is friendly and helpful. Having coffee where i sit and read is excellent. I too like the local stores also, and my favorite by far is not a small local one, but one on a grand scale and i think the best in the bookseller business — Powells in Portland. My sole gripe these days with Barnes is that they have changed the paradigm in the digital department, it used to be that they had all the current music on the end caps and lots of CDs to choose from, I like to browse music just like books, now most of the digital selection is DVDs, not cool! Thats why no 4^th star!

Good selection of books, magazines and other items. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The coffee could be stronger. For a bookstore that is a «mega» book store, it is very nice. However, I really miss the small independently owned book stores of the past. There was a cozy feel that just can’t be replicated by these mega book stores.
