As a student, I love to save as much money as possible. I don’t come here to fax any papers or anything; I come here to shop for school supplies. A lot of the items they have are cheaper than Staples, such as binders and pencils. The binders at Staples are $ 10, while the ones here are $ 5. The variety of items they have in this store is amazing. Staples has only about 1⁄5 of the things they have here, and the quality of the items are better, too. The place is usually messy, but it’s still easy to find everything. There is tons of space to push carts(unlike Staples), and many workers are always around helping customers. I find them to be very kind and knowledgable, so I think some of the reviewers are being kind of harsh. Although, I went to OfficeMax on Sunday. I was having a great time, but then the cashier was obviously not in a good mood. She didn’t greet us, didn’t say goodbye, she didn’t say anything at all. She just threw my notebooks and paper into a bag without any care and just brushed us off when we said thank you. Other than that distasteful lady, I will continue to shop here because of the wide variety of supplies they have. Just a little tip: clean up the place, will you? I think I saw only one worker putting things back to where they should be.

Nay! come in and wait 10 minutes at customer serivce to fax something while one person helped a customer, while two held a conversation & one walked around. Only two stars because they got the job done. Will be going else where!

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Called for a specific tax form, which they said they carried. Drove 45 minutes to get it and they don’t have them. Are you kidding me? Get employees who can answer a simple yes or no question on the phone. Absolutely ridiculous

Probably the slowest service I’ve ever experienced in a while. When I say slow I mean I was in like for exactly 23 minutes with a notebook and a pencil while there was only about 2 other people in front of me. Yasmel, the cashier, was high on something. She did everything in slow motion. Then I gave her a 20 for a $ 7.29 transaction and she gave me 6 cents back. What the hell? I told her I gave her a 20 and she glared at me and said«I could’ve sworn you gave me a 10»…no I didn’t, Yasmel, but if I did give you a 10 you still gave me the wrong change. What a joke. The only star they get goes to the sign holder. He was out there in 100000 degree weather luring people in.

I went in for printing services two days ago and had a great experience. A young man named Eli helped me and he was great. Otherwise I’ve had no problems there. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The printing was done perfectly, including resumes.

Dont offices need pens more than desks and computers? Then why are the pens in the back? Free computer cleaning coupon given, I guess if you spend any amount because I spent less than 5. The floor always looks a bit dirty in office max, or is that just some weird perception I have?

I don’t understand all the negative reviews. My company uses OfficeMax’s printing services, and my experience with them has been exemplary. Sergio has always been helpful, and recently, he and the other staff helped me through a last-minute job that needed several changes made to it. I cannot imagine using a more efficient, helpful printing service.

I agree w/all other reviews… TERRIBLE customer service. Uninterested/unfriendly cashiers, messy store. Every time I go in there there are lines and problems at the register and no one seems to care or know what they’re doing. Hate this place

I will NEVER shop here again. By far the rudest management and tech personnel. I needed help with a laptop that I purchased from them a mere thirteen days earlier because the computer caught a virus the night before. I was sold on an antivirus program that was hyped up to be way more than it really was, only after they convinced me that the program I originally had my eyes on was inferior. Well, thirteen days later I had a virus which actually CAUSEDTHEANTIVIRUSTOSTOPWORKING. I called their headquarters to see if they could convince them to remove the virus without charging me since I was in fact told that I would be protected against viruses. Manager and tech support used my phone to speak with headquarters’ representative and had a good laugh at my expense for a good ten or so minutes. Then, after the phone call, I was told that the antivirus they literally painted as being the best, only stopped SOMEVIRUSES, not all of them. I was told that my computer becoming infected was«an act of God», they couldn’t do anything for free since the two week period was over BY A DAY, and that it’d cost nearly as much as the computer was worth to remove the virus. Worked up over the hour and a half that I spent in the store, which only served to raise my blood pressure, I took my laptop and left. The next day I brought my laptop to my local corner computer store(«we buy ‘em, we sell ‘em, we scrap ‘em») and I was told that it was an easy fix. He removed the virus and restored my laptop to new again in just about fifteen minutes. The owner didn’t even want to charge me but I had to give him a couple twenties, knowing that the con-artist at OfficeMax were trying to charge me nearly $ 300(…yes…$ 300) to do what he did.

I needed to buy a rolodex for work and while I was doing my holiday shopping at South Bay, so I figured I’d pop in. Why not kill to birds with one stone. I had to wander through each aisle until I finally found them. It wasn’t because I didn’t want help, it was because the entire staff was hanging out in the copy area with the exception of 2 cashiers. FYI Officemax, it’s December is probably the most important retail month. Try focusing on customer service, or just reduce your labor costs by only having the 2 cashiers.

Too many people standing around to allegedly help you – but they don’t. They are not even tryna ring up anybody. This place has cornered the market on inefficiency and if I didn’t need a roll of tickets(for a contest) right then, I’da marched on over to Staples. I see why I forget it’s right here in South Bay.
