Their pizza slices are the bomb! But They should just stick to just that! Ordered a chicken cutlet sub and the chicken was half sliced CHICKENPATTIES tasted like public school lunch two bites and i was done. Stay in the pizza lane!

This is a good pizza take-out spot in Dot. The place is small and does alot of business on the weekends, so can be tough to find parking. They only accept cash, but orders are usually done right on time.

Hands down the best pizza and fried chicken in Dorchester, i know because i tried all the other places. The pizza by the slice is unusually good because its ready in about 1 minute. It is not oily, but has a nice crunch to the crust, but not to much. The sauce isn’t sweet(they don’t add sugar, which i think is disgusting, if you want it sweet you got to caramelize those onions!). The cheese is nice and melty, it is delicious. BUTOHMYGODTHEFRIEDCHICKENFINGERSARETHEBEST I HAVEEVERHAD. Roadies fried chicken is so good, but Johnny’s also makes there own wing dings which are amazing(there are two kinds of wings Roadies and Johnny’s), both are good, but i think i prefer johnny’s. I tried the steak bomb sub also, and it was everything id expect a good steak bomb to taste like. I just wished they delivered. Ive eaten here at least 20 times by now, and they are consistently awesome. My only advice if you get the 20 piece chicken tenders ask for it in 4 boxes, this way they are not all sitting on top of each other getting soggy.

Going back & forth between 3&4 stars. They have a surprisingly varied menu for the size of their shop. I’ve had their chicken tenders, fried chicken, gyro, and now their pepperoni pizza! The chicken tenders are delicious! Even though I came late in the evening, the tenders were still moist inside and crispy on the outside. On another day, I got fried chicken, and it’s possible I let it sit too long, but it wasn’t as good as the tenders. The gyro wasn’t bad, but it isn’t something to go out of your way for. The pizza on the other hand is cheesy, greasy, and tasty. It’s not gourmet, but it’s filling and satisfies that pizza craving. They also have different slushy flavors, melon being one. The service on a busy night can be a bit confusing, it doesn’t help with groups of teenagers deciding what they can afford with their pooled money! They take cash only, but there’s an atm inside. Only a few tables & a couple seats at a counter for customers, so more ideal for take out or quick bite. Prices are pretty reasonable, there are some deals on pizza slices & special of the day.

I use to love the place when the nature Greek couple ran the place and now that it’s run by someone else I feel the quality of food has gone down drastically.

Really, the only reason I rated Johnny’s 4 instead of 5 stars is because there’s no delivery, it’s cash only, and the line is… erm…cut-throat. First off, they do pizza like I like my pizza to be done: melty cheese, toasty chewy crust, tasty sauce that’s not too sweet and not overly«oregeno-y». They’ve got super cheap slices that are HUGE, easily a quarter of a pie. They also have, and here’s where I should just add that extra star, delicious fried chicken. Some things, like the strips, are made to order. Dangerous. As far as the line, don’t hang back too far from the counter when you are waiting to place your order, or people will just walk right in front of you. Basically, unless you are talking to the guy, and sometimes even then, you are the obsticle standing between a very hungry person and their slice. They do a really brisk business — the guys working are always doing *something* — so when you make up your mind just get right in the counter dude’s face before someone else does. Haven’t tried their burgers or their subs yet, but it’s in the 6-month plan.

No type of order in this place. I order twenty minutes ahead of time and these still didn’t have a small steak and cheese sub ready. This is the second time this week.

Finally found a great sub shop in Dorchester! I’m from NH and I could not find a place that knew how to make a real sub for the life of me! This is the winner! Pizza is pretty good too. Down side– they do not deliver and don’t have a menu online. Also VERY cold inside while you wait for your food. Other than that great job Johnny’s!

4 stars dropping to 2 stars. …Hmm slacking on the veggie subs that I use to LOVE so much… these past three times have been mediocre. …I tried to give them the benefit of a doubt but I could barely finish them.. probably won’t be back especially since I’m not fond of their pizza neither…

Johnny’s pizza is the best I have ever had in Dorchester. The sauce on the pizza is very tasty. If you live around or happen to be in the Peabody Square area of Dorchester, order your pizza from here.

Johnny is the best, I asked him for a slice of pizza and he hooked it up. It was like 1⁄5 of a whole pie and he only charged me two gold doubloons. At first I thought he was trying to get at me, but then I found out that he give that deal to everyone. He is a great man who has literally changed my view on reality. If you’re looking for magic in a slice, this man will violently exceed your wildest twisted fantasy then caress you like doe as you drift off to a pizza paradise. #seduction

We moved to Boston from Brooklyn about 5 months ago. I have been snooty, sad and judgmental — about most things. But mostly the food. And the pizza. OH the pizza. This sweet sauce, 4 by two inch Greek pizza crap can bite me. Then I sauntered into Johnny’s. It won’t change your life, it won’t blow your mind — but when you order from the lovely folks behind the sketchballs counter, and fold your greasy, oversized, cheese laden piece in half to take your first comforting bite — well, you may feel like you are visiting me in my old Brooklyn neighborhood. And that’s a good thing — for you, me and Boston alike. I have been put in my place.

Like another reviewer stated this is a little hole in the wall place. And not a lot of seating space…4 tables to be exact. But the pizza is VERY good. Huge slices and huge pies. Big setback is they only accept cash. I’m someone who never carries cash so this is a problem for me. But I was able to scrape up $ 2.50 for a pepperoni slice and it was well worth the aggrevation. The employees are very nice there too. Just don’t go after the kids get out of school otherwise you will have to walk through a crowd of them who hang out in front of the store fronts. But I will definitely go back as I heard this guy ordering a steak bomb sandwich… yeah I definitely want to check that out!

The pizza is my favorite in all of Boston. Seriously(I know that’s a matter of taste) — I actually prefer it to Santarpio’s. And the special for $ 4.50? It’s been that price for over 13 years — 2GIANT slices and a soda. It’s still a great deal, well, even better now. And it IS worth the trek, IMHO. But I weigh 350. What do I know? ;-) I’m about to walk a 2 miles for one right now.

The rave reviews are a bit«over the top.» It’s a little«hole in the wall» that serves decent edible food relatively quickly. It’s a cool little mom and pop neighborhood joint. The pizza special — 2 slice and a soda for $ 4.50 is a good deal. As one reviewer wrote, the fish and chips are very good with a very large portion of thinly battered fish. The steak and cheese — from someone who have lived in Philly, where they call it a «cheese steak» nothing in these parts measures up. Johnny’s serviceable. Not worth a trek, but if you’re in the neighbor, hungry and looking for something quick, definitely worth popping in.

Best steak & cheese in town and also the best slice. I hear good things about the seafood but I’ve never tried it. Love the owners. Old Greek couple who scream at each other a lot. Fun

One of the best slices in the city! This isn’t really a sit down restaurant. The pizza and wings are awesome.

Freshly battered fresh fish(and chips) and generously sized slices of(and whole) pizzas are delicious highlights from this hole in the wall across from Ashmont T station. Johnny’s offers great value, although they only accept cash.
