It’s official, their haemul dolsot beats out the one at Super H Duluth food court. That one’s still a good $ 5 cheaper though, being that it’s practically a takeaway eating format. But still, on taste alone… Mi Rak currently holds the haemul dolsot bibimbap crown. More seafood, with better quality(oysters!), could use more veggies, but I’ll get that from the banchan that the ajuma kept bringing. Keep the kkakduki coming, lady!

Good kimchi, bad bulgogi. That’s all.

Too bad some previous diners had bad experiences. My experience here with food was great. You can’t expect good service at a Korean place, but the lady was super nice to keep refilling our kimchee after we had told her how good it was! Had the kimchee jigae, bibimbap, boyfriend ordered the bulgogi. The kimchee at Mi Rak is delicious. Fresh, crisp and tart. I know it’s weird to call kimchee fresh when it’s rotten cabbage. The kimchee jigae was very good. Though the soup base might not be the thickest, it’s still great with lots of kimchee, tofu, rice cake, pork, clear noodles. Spiciness was just right. Bibimbap was delicious. The sauce and rice came on the side so you can add as you wish. The veggies were really fresh and all flavored very well. The egg was cooked perfectly. My bf didn’t like the bulgogi(not cooked in front of you) but I didn’t think it was too bad. The banchan was delicious. Every little dish was delectable and had unique flavors. The kimchee radish was THEBOMB. Overall, I happily stuffed my face while I was here. The complimentary sweet rice drink was awesome. I came here for dinner, so maybe this is more of a dinner spot rather than lunch(according to previous reviews).

It’s not a good sign if you go into a restaurant(that’s not new) and it’s empty. FOOD: First of all, when we got our bahn chan we didn’t even get kim chee. We got a few mediocre dishes that were ok. I got the bul gogi lunch box which was a good portion of bul gogi, rice, 2 kim bap, 1 man doo, chap che, and cole slaw. We also got a side of den jang soup. Everything was ok but nothing to write home about. I don’t know if I’d come back.

After stopping by Café Maun to check out their $ 6.99 buffet and not seeing that much Korean food, we decided maybe Mi Rak might have better lunch specials for the same price — I hadn’t been plus maybe we’d get a «First to Review» :) But, turns out the restaurant has been around for a year, and seeing no other customers should’ve been a clue that maybe the food isn’t too good. If I’d done some research beforehand and read Diana L’s review, we could’ve saved ourselves a trip. Oh well. Lunch specials are available Mon-Sun, 10−3pm. Several items like Bi Bim Bop are $ 5.99, and«lunch boxes»(bento) start around $ 7.99. I got the«marinated chicken» lunch box for $ 7.99. Chicken was dark meat and very bland — I don’t think they marinated it at all. Lunch box also came w/2 kimbop, cole slaw, jap chae, & soup — all just ok. Best item was the fried mandu just b/c the filling tasted homemade. I tried Nancy R’s «bulgogi» and thought it tasted just slightly better than my chicken. Our lunch also came w/6 banchan — all just ok. Main server was friendly and spoke English pretty well. But can’t say the servers were very attentive — disappointing considering there were no other customers. Overall 2.5 stars, and not worth a 2nd visit. Sorry.

Weekend lunch. Ordered yookaejang– spicy soup with shredded beef. Tasted like kimchi sauce. Service was very spotty. However, clean space. Did not check out the bathroom.
