I went to Rich’s as a novice, I wanted to buy a trap shooting shotgun for my son. They sold me a beautiful antique rifle and then altered it, or rather butchered it. The fellows at the range were shocked at what had been done to such a to such a beautiful Browning auto 5. I was informed that I had over paid for the shotgun and had destroyed it’s value by having it altered, and altered wrong. it is not a trap shooting gun and now it is of little value. When I returned to Rich’s to sell the gun back to them they said it didn’t have much value. When I inquired why they had done the alteration wrong and cutting the barrel too short, I was told that’s what i asked to be done. I reminded them that I have zero knowledge of guns and had relied on their expertise. Ladies take your business to someone that will be supportive!

Have really wanted to make this my «home» gun shop as it is a convenient location for me regardless of the higher price’s. It is undoubtedly well set up. Around 10 – 12 years ago I got fed up with the lack of knowledge and helpfulness of the owner. Gunsmithing being his forte’ not customer service. Even this is questionable as I wanted to have a barrel threaded and said he couldn’t do it. I bought a handgun from him and put another on consignment. Then I had him order more mags with a factory extended base plate. I then received the wrong mags at least twice only to be told the product I wanted may not exist even though the pistol had come with a mag that had this option. This is the days before the explosion of online ordering options. Never went back as the demeanor of the owner was less than enthusiastic at best. Fast forward to present I thought I would give it another try. Now has folks handling the customer service/sales which is a good thing. I asked them if I ordered an AR-15 lower through them would they charge me the transfer fee or should I just order it direct and have it shipped to them. They said it was the same either way. So I order it and have it shipped to them. Then I get the shock. They charge $ 50 for the transfer fee. I have never paid more than $ 20 – 25 for this service with other shops. My stupid mistake for not asking up front. Their bad for screwing customers. Will never go back.

Friendly helpful service. Fun little shooting gallery. A bit pricey but if you buy a gun you get a discount afterwards. Rent a gun to shoot in the indoor range. Definitely happy we found this place. Will buy more guns cause, well… zombies. They are coming.

Went to Ricks and was met with friendly personnel, wanted to sell three guns Browning A5, Stevens 30=30 and a Ruger 10⁄22 all in moderate shape. I was told they would call me in a couple of days with their bid. They called me me the next day and told me my guns were worth $ 85.00 for all three. This was a waste of my time and theirs. If they didn’t want my guns then say so, don’t insult me.

These guys are awesome! I brought guests from China in to see guns for their very first time. The guys at Rich’s were so nice to them and so patient! They let them hold guns and take pictures. The guests told me this was their«dream come true!» Thank you for making their day!

I would like to start my review by disclosing the fact that I created a Unilocal account merely to post a review about richs gun shop and my overall dissatisfaction and disgust that I felt leaving their store. I took my 22 there to have them removed a jammed bullet. The owner was able to look at the gun and offered to take it apart WITHOUT any disclosure about compensation. 30 minutes later of attempting to put the gun back together(aka clearly revealing a lack of experience) he realized that there was no bullet in the gun. While he was putting the gun back together, he was mumbling offensive phrases such as «what a piece of crap» «I hope I never see this gun in my store again», which I thought was incredibly rude considering this rifle is well over $ 1500. Upon finishing, He set the weapon down in front of me and told me that his 30 minutes of time costs $ 65.00! I was appalled and felt that I was paying the same price I would to go see a doctor. He arrogantly stated that 65 is the price for his time, and would not budge. I told him that this was unfair, and ridiculously overpriced for simply opening a gun to tell me that there was no bullet jammed inside. This guy is a ripoff and I will never purchase a gun from his store. He’s rude, impatient, and overall just way too full of himself for being a gun smith in Donald, Oregon. I don’t recommend this business for anyone with gun needs.

I gladly take the drive to Rich’s to get anything firearms related. The people are friendly aren’t like other gun shops where they come off as arrogant or annoyed that your asking questions. I will always get any firearms related from Rich’s. I also love the one free cleaning you get with every gun purchase!

I have been going to this place for years and they never disappoint. They custom made a Mach II for me which I LOVE and have done gunsmith work for me also. I believe we also purchased another gun from them as well. Great place with excellent customer service

Richs Gun shop is a family run store. I meet with the owners son, he greeted me and was more then happy to answer all of my questions. They have an amazing store, wall to wall guns. They also have a lifetime warranty on all of there firearms. They have a gunsmith on site, who is very skilled. Great place, good people. The prices for there stuff is a little higher then others but with the lifetime warranty, you break even.

There is a first time for everything: first step; first lost tooth; first scraped knee falling off your bicycle; first kiss; first handgun. These things build in destructive power as you get older, but you always remember your first. I recently visited the sprawling metropolis of Donald, OR(population: 650 as of the last census) for the first time to visit Rich’s Gun Shop. I am so glad I made the trip. What makes this shop different from others I have visited, aside from their enthusiastic embrace of the Wild, Wild West theme, is that half the building is occupied by a gunsmith shop. The shop is visible when you enter the store. You can watch these guys work on parts and pieces with an intense concentration that you would absolutely hope someone would dedicate to your own project. Rich’s has a nice selection of both long guns and handguns as well. I seem to recall a decent selection of both Ruger and Smith & Wesson, but I was in a revolver mood when I was there, so my focus was directed. This is one of those family-run, «nook and cranny» shops with peripheral items and accessories on the walls and behind the counters. I have a feeling if you ask for something you do not see, one of the guys will say, «Well, we used to have a whole bunch of them in this drawer back here. Let me check.» You may be pleasantly surprised. If you do not see it, definitely ask. And definitely check this shop out. A word of warning — they are fanatical about tracking in mud — probably because of the gunsmith shop right there. For God’s sake wipe your feet. In the Wild, Wild West, people were punished for lesser offenses.
