I have lived in Discovery Bay since 2010 and live a few houses away from Dash, so I often walk to Dash. My sister has lived in town since the late 1980’s. So I’ve been going to Dash frequently for the past 25 years or so. The owners are very sweet. While the prices are higher than Safeway, you can’t beat the convenience of being able to walk across the street to get some milk that you forgot at Safeway. My dog is allowed to come in the store with me. The owners love little dogs. Dash is an asset to the community.

Dash is the original store in Discovery Bay, so expect variety. For a store that is quick and easy to get to from Discovery Bay blvd, this is definitely the place to hit up; it’s the only one… From your morning coffee, to snacks, to motor oil, Dash has it all. Keep in mind though that this is a convenience store, not a grocery store. Pricing is wack! Gas: Always fluctuating, you just never know here. The owner doesn’t know whether to make people spend a lot of money and drive away the poor to the nearest Safeway, charge the same so that they can’t be blamed, or overrun the two registers in the whole place by making gas one cent cheaper than Safeway! General snacks: Snacks are normally priced. They know they will sell it so it seams to be pretty much the average price of any other convenience store. They even have Chocodiles at the register(twinkies dipped in chocolate; a must have). They sell for 50 cents each and are worth every penny. Don’t forget to get one on your way out. They sell like hotcakes! Uncommon Supplies: Have you ever made a cake and forgot the eggs, or said you were going to make pancakes but forgot to buy batter? Even if you wanted to make s’mores and had no time to waste. Dash is your«saving grace.» When you forget a certain little part of your home-made cuisine, check Dash out to see if they’ve got it. Like I said, they are a bit pricey, but if you don’t want to travel 2 miles longer to Safeway, go here. The«Why are these even here?»: Here’s a list of things you wouldn’t expect to find at a convinence store: A1, Cat/Dog Food, Motor Oil, Dinner Items(hamburger helper, noodles, and such) Canned Goods, Batteries, Frozen Pizza, Pizza Rolls, Frozen Pies(some individual slices) Cold Meat Sandwiches(reminds me of school lunch) playing cards, and other things I can’t remember right now. Just goes to show that it is not your average store. Beer/Liquor: ONLYGOHEREIFYOUREALLYREALLYWANTITORNEEDIT. NOSALESANDMARKUPUPTHEWAZOO! Great wine selection for a convenient store though. I recommend the Hahn Chard. Wente is good too. Plenty supply of condoms, coffee, nachos, ramen, hot dogs(don’t recommend) chips, dips, candy, jerky, nuts, fountain drinks, wine, and free air. They do not carry Arizona tea :( Overall: Great for convenience, but hate the price for it.
