This place has some big pluses and some big minuses: Pluses: Sesame tofu and vegetable delight with bean curd were both excellent. The tofu was hot, freshly fried, and the two sauces were similar but not the same, were good together in the same meal. I can’t emphasize enough that these two dishes were like something you’d expect from a nice, sit-down restaurant that charged twice as much. This made for 2 very nice and unexpected vegan entrees right off highway 95 in South Carolina. Real plates and cups — not styrofoam — if you eat in. The really groovy bathroom sink and sparkly counter. They got the special instructions right — no meat or egg in the fried rice. Minuses: They were out of steamed rice and had only fried rice. What kind of Chinese restaurant runs out of steamed rice at 1pm on a Sunday? The vegetable fried rice — no meat or egg, as requested — had a good flavor to it, but the rice was just slightly undercooked. A lot of grains were crunchy in the middle. The bathroom was out of toilet paper and when we asked for toilet paper, we were given a stack of napkins, or napkin-like tissues. Counter service. The staff was polite & friendly. Décor was not bad, but it looked unfinished, and there was a pile of boxes in the corner.
