Friendly staff, so far everything have ordered has been prepared correctly. Food tasty. many of staff remember your order from last visit. usually in group of 6, hostess will seat you in your preferred area. This may not happen on a busy Saturday nite. will continue to visit Colton’s.

Best steakhouse in the town! Better selection then all other comparable restaurants and lower priced then most. Awesome country atmosphere. Very little wait on a typical Friday for 4. Great hospitality and customer service. bye Roadhouse and friends… Colton is the Best!!!

Happy people work here! That’s a good sign for me. Came for lunch and were served right away with drinks plus free refills. Burgers thick and juicy Grilled chicken salad was Large and gives you a thick chicken breast though the salad was mostly iceberg lettuce. Service with a smile They have salmon too Plus cowboy outside to pose with! Stars are for service and my friends were happy with their burgers.

After 4 visits since Colton’s has opened — Have not receive a single steak cooked properly. Service is a crapshoot, either real good, or non-existent. Management is difficult to find. Sides and appetizers are stale, overcooked, luke warm at best. Will only go again if someone else is paying.

I’m very close to dropping the stars to 3 instead of 4, but I’ve had more good meals there than bad so for now I’ll keep it at 4. My main problem with Colton’s is that the cooks aren’t consistent with how they cook their steaks. I like a medium rare steak, but at Colton’s I have to order it medium because if I don’t order it medium they give it to me raw and cold… If they can become more consistent in their cooking then this place has serious potential…

I come here about once a week and have tried a lot of the dishes. The portions are huge, so if you’re hungry you’re in the right spot. They have a homemade soup daily that has been wonderful every time I’ve tried them. The steaks are cooked on a grill and not a flattop like a lot of places are doing now. It makes a difference in the taste. The staff is always very nice and efficient. My kids have a good time when we go which makes it easy for me to enjoy my food. I just wish I had more opportunities to dabble in the bar drinks… they seem like they would aim to please. I’m definitely going back!

This place is once again your standard, typical American restaurant. The employees are seriously lacking in the professional and respect department. The management, not quiet sure that I would call them management, but they also need educating on how to communicate effectively with the public. Good luck with getting the food that you ordered or having it cooked properly. This was the second and last dining experience here.

Average steak! I admit I am extremely picky about my steak. I want my steak to be tender and cooked with a bit of pink in the middle which is usually medium. A steak house should be able to pull that off right? Not here. I ordered the filet which was wrapped in bacon. The steak wasn’t horrible but I’ve had a lot better at some of the larger chain restaurants. The filet was medium cooked but not at all as tender as one should be. I had such high hopes for this restaurant. There are so few choices in this area. I hope to return next time we are in the area to try something other than the steak. The service was ok. Our server was nice but seemed to be struggling. Maybe it was just an off day for her.

Do not get the male server named Jordan! You will wait 20 min for drinks and even longer for an appetizer and food. My family of four left after an hour and twenty min of waiting and left with no food. This was a horrible experience and will think twice about returning. The management never checked tables and never spoke to us until my wife many steps behind me was walking out. If there is a word worse than atrocious then that would truly explain our experience at Colton’s in Dickson.

A co-worker and I went out to lunch here as a treat from the boss. We were seated quickly and our server was nice. We ordered drinks and chips and queso as an appetizer. Didn;t take too long to get the appetizer considering it was around 1:15 — most of the heavy lunch rush was presumeably over. The chips were stale so we notified our server. They took the chips(but not the dip, which we hadn’t yet tried) and about 7 minutes later, brought us a new bowl of chips. At this point, the queso had a skin on the top, because it had been sitting for close to 15 minutes, untouched. We’re not picky, though, so we each tried another chip — and these too, were stale, must have been from the same open box. Back they all went, and we declined to order replacements. My co-worker and I placed our oprder — she ordered a baked potato with no sour cream, and when it arrived, it had sour cream. Back that one went. As for the food, everything else was pretty good. The salads were completely unremarkable, but the ribs were cooked and seasoned absolutely perfectly, and fell off the bone. My potato was cooked well and I enjoyed everything. She said her sirloin was also cooked well, no complaints. They did remove the appetizer from the bill, of course, and we opted to order dessert to go since we missed out on the appetizers. The cheesecake is top notch and the slices big enough for two. The service was pretty good — despite the mishaps from the kitchen — but it almost got to the point of annoying after the 4th random employess stopped by to ask how we were doing. I appreciate being checked up on, but to have the conversation interupted four tmies got a little irritating — we’re trying to enjoy our lunch! Overall, not a bad experience — mistakes happen, and our server was nice. The wait times were reasonable– but there was really nothing remarkable about this restraurant. Average food, slightly above-average prices, our service was decent. Probably not worth returning, however, given all the other options in the area. My take is, if you’re going to open another steakhouse with the whole peanuts-on-the-floor thing HALF A MILE from an existing restaurant with the very same design(Logan’s is across the street) you’d better make it exceptional in every way — and this is far from it.

My husband and I have been wanting to eat here for a couple of months. I’ve been telling him that«they always have a packed parking lot, so it MUST be good.» So, we stopped in on a Saturday and tried it. I wasn’t impressed with the service or cleanliness of the establishment. Colton’s is really well decorated. Being a steakhouse, it has a western theme, and I was really excited as we walked into the restaurant – pictures of people«peeping» from the upstairs outside windows, western pictures and items hanging everywhere. We were seated, and my impressions turned to the worse when I saw the floor. Like Texas Roadhouse, Colton’s lets you toss your empty peanut shells on the floor. But what made me cringe was what I saw on the floor with the peanuts– silverware, napkins, sugar packets, coasters, and chunks of rolls and entrée food. I brought this to the attention of the person who sat us, and she had a nonchalant attitude about it, telling me, «Well, we let people drop peanuts on the floor; so we don’t worry about the other stuff on the floor.» And then after I sat down, I realized that not only was there food and trash on the floor, but there were also bits of food on the seat of my chair!!! We ordered our drinks. I asked for water with a lemon and was told that they were out of lemons. We looked at the menu and ordered. My husband ordered the smoked sirloin, and I ordered the blackened salmon. When our entrees were brought, there was a lemon. A lemon. Yes, you read that correctly – they brought me a lemon! I asked for lemon with my water and was told they were out, and yet they served my dish with a lemon??? My husband was given a refill of his sweet tea, but I was ignored throughout the meal and never received a refill of my water. My husband said his steak was good, although he couldn’t taste any«smoke» to it. It wasn’t super stellar to him, but it was good. He especially enjoyed the cup of beef broth served on the side. His steak wasn’t dry, but he guessed the broth was served with the steak«just in case» it was dry. He also enjoyed the horseradish served on the side, and said the corn on the cob was really sweet. My blackened salmon was definitely blackened on the bottom… it had quite a charcoal going on which made it taste burnt. I flaked it away from the bottom and it was just fine — it was moist, juicy, and had a strong salmon taste. It was served with some kind of delicious onion-based dip. My side dish of steamed veggies was rather disappointing. I counted two baby carrots and two pieces of cauliflower amid an ocean of broccoli. The vegetables were steamed until they were done, but they didn’t have any seasonings whatsoever on them and were rather bland. I ended up dipping them in the onion-based side sauce, and they were more enjoyable. Our dishes were also served with rolls, much like O’Charley’s. They were good, and they came with a really nice honey-butter spread. We got our bill, and my husband put his credit card in the folder… it was twenty minutes or more before the waitress came and picked up the payment. To me, it was torture. Twenty more minutes of looking at food and crap on the floor and watching peanuts fall from the hands of those seated around us. The food was average, nothing to praise, which was a little disappointing considering how much this meal cost my husband. The service was horrible, and sitting amid non-peanut food all over the floor made me feel like I was sitting in a health-violation. I really don’t want to go back. Vegetarians BEWARE there was NOT one measly vegetarian dish on the menu… except for the side dish of bland, steamed veggies. Even the Fettuccine Alfredo(usually a safe bet at a steakhouse) had bacon in it. **NOT Vegetarian friendly**

Tonight was our first time trying Colton’s, and it was a great overall experience. Just to clarify, this review pertains specifically to the to-go service, as that’s what we enjoyed. We ordered two entrees and an appetizer. Specifically, I got the ribs and catfish combo, and my wife got the Colton’s chicken entrée. The food was great! This is a fairly new restaurant, so we didn’t know exactly what to expect… But this place didn’t disappoint. Next time hopefully we’ll try a steak. Hard to give a completely honest review of a steakhouse without that small detail. So the service is what really impressed us. Yes, we got it to go, so we didn’t have a complete picture of the wait staff… But we use ‘to go’ at a handful of restaurants, and it is almost always a poorly implemented afterthought. Often at other restaurants we have to double check orders for accuracy, and it always seems to take about twice as long as promised. Not the case here… We were promised 25 minutes, and I arrived promptly at that time… The server met me outside immediately with our order, which was spot on. All in all, good first experience. Will definitely update my review later once we’ve got more visits under our belts.

My wife and I just tried Colton’s for the first time. I would definitely NOT recommend this place. We started off with 2 sodas and their onion blossom, which was pretty good, and then ordered our entrees. I had the ribs and catfish platter with salad and fries. The salad was Luke warm and the ranch dressing tasted and had a consistency like they had cut it 50⁄50 with skim milk. The catfish was inedible, I could not even stomach a second bite. The ribs lacked any decent seasoning and tasted very piggy. The coleslaw tasted like it had been sitting on the counter since the Nigh before. The fries were thick cut steakhouse style and were okay. My wife had a del Rio seasoned ribeye which sounded amazing. What she got was a moderately seasoned and barely adequately cooked steak that was just«okay.» they did not include the del Rio seasoned butter that was advertised and the steak itself was a bit tough and overcooked. Neither of our entrees came with the advertised biscuits either. The restaurant itself had a nice atmosphere and seemed neat and clean. We did not check out the restrooms. Overall, think of it as very, VERY poorly executed Applebee’s that is incredibly overpriced. Our meal was $ 65 including a $ 10 tip since our waitress was friendly and overall attentive.

Started out a little shakey, but our server. Nancy, quickly turned it around. I had the NY Strip steak, medium rare… It was cooked just right… My friend had ribs and catfish, which he couldn’t eat all of… In the end, a rather enjoyable dinner experience…

Overpriced for food quality! Steaks were slightly over cooked, needed much more flavor ! Salads were warm, had to ask for bread as they wanted to wait for salad to bring bread. When it was gone we had to ask for more. Waiter spilled drinks all over our table. No offer for a discount or apology. Maybe gift card for next time… nothing ! Charged extra for EVERY little thing. Even .30 every time we got a coke refill because it had grenadine in it. No other restaurant has EVER charged for it. Bill for 3 people with 3 entrees and 2 appetizers was $ 115 with a 15% tip — Logans has better prices and actually cares about the satisfaction of their customers. I even filled out the comment card(review was not good) no one even bothered to review it and contact me.

Would have been 5 stars but my NY Strip was overcooked. The steak was flavorful even overdone. Salad was very good with the house dressing and I loved the yeast rolls. Service is a bit slow but they just opened less than a week ago. I would go back again.

Really good food. Passing through town, found them miraculously. Got food to go. Asked for steak sauce to go, didn’t get it, or any plastic ware. ROLLSARESUPERDELICIOUS!!! I gonna cut em a lot of slack because it was opening night and the staff is super nice!
