This was one of my favorite places in town. Great food and exceptional service. Stephanie and Cherie(I hope I spelled that right) always kept me entertained while I did my paperwork and ate lunch. I’ll miss you guys. I hope to see the herb café make a comeback in a busier location and do much better. Good luck!

Hostess were very nice. Kitchen was extremely slow. Food was good for price. Had kitchen been better on time(ordered at 11:45 food out 45 minutes later) I would give 5 stars.

Can’t make this up… Called to check on the kids menu items before we went down there. Told us they had grilled chicken. So we take the 15 min trip, get there, are seated and given menus. Our drink orders are taken, waitress asks if we are ready to order meals, we are not but order chips and salsa. That comes and we go to order our meals, my wife asks for shrimp étouffée — no luck, out of shrimp. Son orders grilled chicken fingers — no luck, out of chicken. I was going to order Jambalaya Pasta — no luck, out of chicken. ATNOPOINTDURINGTHESITDOWNANDAPPETIZER order process did she mention being out of anything. So I ask if there is anything else they are out of… and she starts rattling off a whole list. At this point there are no entrees I have any interest in(fall back was pork chops — out of them). So I let her know we would be leaving… get up to the front and she writes up a $ 17 check for 5 drinks we are leaving as well as chips and salsa. Waitress wanted a thanks as she was only going to charge $ 2 for lemonade instead of $ 3. I left $ 7 dollars, which was generous for the 10 tortilla chips and couple of sips of a drink. Manager came out, said she understood why we were leaving and told me the Sysco delivery never came, that’s why they are out of some many items. HELLO — ever hear of a supermarket. At no point did she ever say sorry, or no charge(which would have been the right thing to do) since they were out maybe a dollar for the chips and fountain soda syrup. Completely bad experience and a shame since I enjoyed my one other visit there about 6 months ago.

What a surprise! This outing was an impromptu lunch out. Great sandwiches and homemade, from scratch soups. They also have a fun brunch menu. It’s nothing fancy. It’s a converted house, with wood paneling lined walls, adorned with local artist works. And in all, there are about a dozen Formica tables and chairs. Nice spot for a good meal.

Love this place! Food was delish as always. My daughter really enjoyed the grilled cheese. Service was a little slow, but they were busy!

Came here for Saturday brunch around 1:00. I like the 11 – 3 brunch times as I do enjoy sleeping late. I had the fried pork chop with sunnyside up eggs. It was decent but could have used a little more seasoning. The toast(which should have been a biscuit but they were out) was a little too buttery. My husband has the shrimp and grits. It was decent but entirely too buttery and not quite what I expected for $ 10. The $ 3 sangria is a damn good deal. The $ 2 mimosa is served in a tiny champagne flute and is probably mostly orange juice. We will be back to try the regular menu.

Well I’ve only been once, so my one and minor complaint could have been a one-time occurrence; the food took a pretty long time, and it wasn’t even that busy. It is very endearing that their herb garden is visible from the entrance and you know that’s where they get their product from.

Really nice little hole in the wall restaurant! They have two menu’s, the regular menu and upon request they have an entire menu dedicated to vegetarians. My waitress was really nice, happy and quick. She made suggestions that sounded amazing and before long it was time to eat! To start I had the Spinach Artichoke Dip. The home made pita chips were good, but a little to salty, it through off the flavor of the dip a bit. But the dip itself was really good. For lunch itself I had a pita artichoke sandwich.(Apparently I really wanted artichoke and pita!) I was disappointed with this one. I can’t remember what all was supposed to be on it, but the only thing I asked them to hold was the onions. I had to get part to go so I was away from the restaurant when I realized that the only thing in the peta was artichokes. Absolutely nothing else. It didn’t taste bad, but wad severely lacking. I’ll try this restaurant again on a day I’m not running behind.

I decided to eat here today because I have heard great things about it. I went with wife and daughter around dinner time. The location Needs work, mirrors are dirty, holes in the walls where you can see screws that are screwed in on the other side. The food was great, my wife had the pork chops and I had the jumbolaya pasta. The biggest downside was the service, not necessarily to us but to the attention to detail. We ordered an appetizer and our food came out first, but they took it off our bill. They were out of shrimp so the shrimp ettofei was not an option. The waitress looked like she was in the weeds with 22 tops and an 8 top. Will probably go back because it seems like it was just one of those nights for the waitress and I would like to try different things on the menu.

Love this place! Everything I’ve had is amazing. One of my favorites is the banh mi! So glad to hear they are not closing. Support your local businesses!

Finally got to check this place out and we were not disappointed at all. I followed a few recommendations made by previous reviewers so we started with the spinach artichoke dip which was delicious, especially those pita chips for dipping. I got the fish tacos which were so tasty with the homemade chimichurri sauce on them. The portions were very large so I didn’t mind paying more for lunch. My sister had the cuban sandwich and loved it… couldn’t finish it so she took the rest with her and had it for dinner. Daughter asked for the vegetarian menu and had pasta which she enjoyed. The tomato basil soup was out of this world. I’m excited to go back to try more of their menu. Don’t let the reggae music throw you off-it wasn’t too loud and the local artist display was nice to see.

Been here twice and both times the service has been great. The first time my wife and I stumbled upon it on a Friday evening. I had the prime rib and my wife had the chicken. Both were tender and tasty. Pretty good wine list that is reasonably priced. The next time we went, we tried spinach and artichoke dip as an appitizer. It was pretty tasty and the chips were nice and crunchy. For dinner, I ordered the Cuban sandwich and found it to be sparse and a little on the dry side. I was disappointed. However, my wife had the King Ranch Chicken and loved it. Will come back to try some other items.

I love to support local restaurants and I hate that I didn’t love this place:( Me and my daughter went for lunch. I like the décor and it was very comfortable feeling place. For appetizer we had the spinach and artichoke dip unfortunately it was very watery almost like they didn’t drain the artichokes and it didn’t have much flavor. Pita chips were good. I had the pulled pork sandwich which said it had a spicy apple bbq sauce but to me there was no spice at all and the coleslaw was about five strands of cabbage on the sandwich. It tasted ok but not as described on menu. Salad was wilted and dressing was barely there. My daughter had the fish tacos and only ate two of them because they were just ok. For desert we had the brownie which tasted like a box brownie mix to me. Service was great.

This was the first time to visit this restaurant. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the waitstaff were friendly, attentive, and helpful. The menu has a variety of items and nothing is overpriced. It may take a few minutes longer to receive your food, but it’s worth the wait since the food is cooked fresh. I like the idea that they grow their own herbs and use them on the food verses all the processed ones. This is one establishment that receives 5 stars! If you haven’t tried The Herb Café & Market, you should. I will definitely be back!

When Herb Café opened, I was so excited to try a new place that is near our office! Prior to its opening, there were few places to eat near us – at the intersection of Hwy 146 and FM517. The owner kindly greeted us when we walked in and explained how he was trying to use local vendors for his food, wine, and other things – such as Dickinsonian Honey – for retail sale. They also support local artists! In fact, the last time I ate there, I purchased a beautiful photograph from a local artist. The food is absolutely delicious. They have a wide range of options, from seafood – such as the Fish Tacos and Grilled Shrimp La’ Baccia(my favorite appetizer) – to sandwiches – my favorite being the Banh-Mi(Vietnamese) – to home-cooked favorites, like their King Ranch Chicken. This restaurant has become one of my routine eat out places – rather it’s just for takeout or I am taking a client out! I definitely recommend giving them a try!

The food here is delicious! I wish I could’ve contained myself long enough to take pictures. I’ll definitely have to come back for brunch sometime. I want to check out the farmers market they have next door.

The fish tacos were some of the best that I have had in quite a while. If you can stomach the bad music and pictures of Bob Marley while you are eating, I would highly recommend trying every dish they have to offer. Added plus, they are dog friendly.

I love this place! The food is great and the staff fabulous. I can not eat a lot of brad and wanted the Philly bad… Adam made me a wrap Philly slightly grilled it was and is awesome! Perfect. Go try it ask for the Pam Wrap… If your tired of the big chains restaurants, which are good, try the Herb Café for some simple perfection. The menu has sandwiches to prime rib fridays. My daughter loves the salmon and bread pudding. The specials are great and I had the spaghetti special on Monday and of course AWESOME… Of course like any restaurant you will love somethings and not others… but I promise you will love the café. If you love wine you will love the café. I am really happy this café is in my city… it may be a drive for some but its worth it.
