First time returning in a while. Passed it on several occasions. Placed a «to go» of three orders of the 3 piece fish and shrimp with two sides. The order was timely and hot. The overall service from staff was very positive. The food in my opinion was not very flavorful. It lacked seasoning and came off as bland. The fish gave the appearance of chicken strips versus catfish. Do not know if it was a bad day or what based on other reviews, but my food experience was average at best. Prices are reasonable in proportion to food received. May return again, but it will be a while.

I went to lunch with my dad and stepmother and the food was really good. I got the 3⁄3 which is 3 fried shrimp and 3 fried catfish filets, green beans, mashed potatoes and a slice of bread. I was not greasy and surprisingly felt healthy although I know friend food isn’t great for you. Everything had great flavor and the portion size was good. I would order the 5⁄5 next time but I did not leave hungry. I would recommend this place to seafood lovers that want to support a small business with really a really friendly staff. The only thing I did not like was FoxNews playing on the TV’s but luckily they were on mute!

I’ve been coming here for a while now. Definitely the best seafood in the area. It’s always clean & the fish and shrimp are always freshly prepared.

I just finished lunch here and this place is great! I was in town for a training and stopped by for a bite because of the Unilocal reviews. Excellent and friendly service, spotless restaurant, reasonable prices for really good food. They have generous portions and I couldn’t come close to finishing my shrimp po’ boy and fries. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked yummy. If I lived closer I would be here all the time!

My son, grandson and myself are all over 250 pounds. At the Fish Plate the only one that could finish the catfish plate was my grandson, but he didn’t finish his corn. It was a lot of food, and everything was served super hot(from cooking) and very fast. The price was really good and our waitresses Cat was really good and kept checking on us. We will be going back.

Friendly & clean, but they use WAY too much salt. We picked up 30 chicken wings to go recently & threw them out because of the salt. I would have returned them if we lived closer to them. They serve nice big portions & the staff is great! Their fish taco and fried shrimp is great. The onion rings are enormous! They have a huge menu for such a small restaurant. Étouffée is awful.

Amazing shrimp poboy. I’ve eaten a lot of these bad boys since I’ve been in the south, and these are very very good. The bread is key, and here they use a French style baguette that really makes the sandwich pop. Also the drive thru is pretty dope.

Great food! The fried shrimp & oysters are great. We also love the boudin balls & crab balls. Sides are surprisingly good – the potato salad is the best I’ve ever had aside from my own. Everything seems to be homemade. We just recently discovered this gem, & are working our way through the menu. Be sure to pick up one of their take out menus. There is a drive thru, but since everything is made fresh to order, I’d recommend calling in your order first, then picking it up at the drive thru. To the reviewer who found the neighborhood threatening – don’t go to Houston. You would be terrified.

This is what we ordered and its comment: Fried shrimps: excellent Grilled Mahi Mahi: so fresh and delicious, like a home meal Grilled red fish: amazing Crab balls: not bad but not my style Onion rings: very good Apple pie: like if your grand ma had made it Chocolat milkshake: good. In this place people order at the counter and then they seat. We didn’t know. We just sat at the table. The waitress came, she asked if it was our first time here, we said yes, she explained how to order but since she saw us with a baby she just took the order for us. Very nice of her. We will definitely come back there when we will go for shopping at tanglers. The food is very good and fresh..

Good food but in a bad part of town on Hwy 3 right off the railroad tracks in Dickinson. Would not recommend taking a family here due to safety concerns. I am only giving it three stars due to the location. Good fried fish and shrimp the time I was there.

My favorite place to eat in the Dickinson area. Some of my picks: any of their poboys(shrimp, oyster), their fish poboy is amazing with well seasoned redfish. They also have the best macaroni and cheese I’ve had at a a restaurant of this level. The friendly atmosphere gives you a sense of community. I come here 2 – 4 times a month.

Tried the Gumbo to go yesterday, thinking it would not take that long but boy, I was wrong, it took @ 20 mins. to get it, have to flag(not sssshtt a server) and it was missing the sausage, it got a piece of chicken wing and some shrimp but no okra and missed the taste of the Gumbo, price was not fair, $ 8 for small portion.

So far I’ve had the redfish strips, gumbo, and the fish tacos. All delicious. The gumbo was not the traditional black but rather a lighter more stick to your ribs version but very good and full of meat. The taco was more like a huge burrito also excellent with homemade salsa. Fish strips are well cooked crispy and not a whole lot of batter and never greasy.

Someone ordered seafood platter oysters red fish boudin balls fried shrimp and 2 sides they state they enjoyed theirs but oysters were a little small and hard. Kids enjoyed chicken tenders/burger and service is always great

Excellent at everything. I’ve never had bad food at this place and keep coming back on a weekly basis for the fried shrimp. The staff are always friendly, sometimes they are a bit overwhelmed but still friendly.

Went to this place based on reviews saying they had a great Po Boy. Walking in right away you notice how clean it is inside. For a place that fry’s a lot of seafood it does not smell like grease at all. It’s kind of a throwback diner kind of feel inside. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. The prices especially at lunch are a bargain. I ordered a Fish and shrimp Po Boy. It came out wrapped in foil and was at least a foot long. I unwrapped it and it was really loaded with a lot of fish filets and plenty of shrimp. It was piping hot also. The seafood was cooked spot on crispy on the outside but not over done. It was not greasy at all. It came full dressed with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and a little remoulade. To spice things up they offered about 10 different hot sauces. Everything from Tabasco to Siracha. The only let down was the bread. Pretty much a soft sub bun. Not bad but they should at least toast it. It came with fries included in the price for around 8 bucks and really you could feed 2 people at lunch with it. My wife got a small grilled chicken salad. When it came out it was anything but small. It had boiled eggs, bacon, seasoned grilled chicken, bacon, cucumber, and more. It easily covered a large dinner plate. Once again it was like 2 meals worth. At 7 bucks it was a bargain. I think in the future instead of the Po Boy I will just order the fried or grilled platters though. The fried seafood here really shines the best. They offer like 8 different side dishes to choose from with your meal. The staff is super friendly and you can tell that a lot of customers are regulars. This is my new go to place for inexpensive quality seafood.
