My son transferred to The Barnesville school last year. He has had a great year and I can truly see a difference in his confidence. We came from a school where the average class size was 27 kids in a class. The Barnesville school meets the child where they are at academically. It is a very nurturing and positive environment. The small class size allows the teachers to connect with the children and provide the extra attention where needed. I would highly recommend this school.

The school’s motto is «Joy, Support and Excellence,» and in my family’s experience they live all three in spades! The phenomenal teachers at The Barnesville School really get to know your child, every step of the way gently pushing, prodding and encouraging them to take risks and grow in a way that only a small institution with small classes can. The middle school academics are amazing, tremendous science and math programs… but literally all teachers/​programs have been impressive. This past year every graduating 8th grader got into their first choice high school… now that’s what I am looking for in a middle school!

Our family chose The Barnesville School for it’s location, class size, and general culture. The children graduate with the sort of inner-​confidance rarely seen. Even in the lower school, the kids have an easy time making eye contact with adults and shaking hands (the proper way). The teachers are committed and hard-​working. The community of parents is another huge bonus.
