ice cream is good, service is ok, food is dreadful.

I was excited to go to this place when we first moved here. It reminded me of a little drive in back where I grew up. As soon as we walked in I was disappointed. Not only did we get a death look from people that were in there, it was just a run down place. Expected it to be a cool divey burger place, but it looks like it was bought by a Mexican family and they turned it into a Mexican menu, and kept a little bit of the burger side. Staff was not friendly at all, not once did she smile. Service was slow. When we got home and started eating, it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t stellar. Sadly, we probably will not be returning.

The ice cream is good, milkshakes taste like milkshakes and not weird chemicals like at some places… totally what you’d expect from the old fashioned frostie look of the place. there is also an expansive menu, with a decent vegetarian selection(a veggie burger, cheese fries, etc), and then a really large Mexican food menu. it’s not bad, basically it’s the not particularly healthy food you expect to get from a place like this…

Went to Deb’s Frosty for the first and last time today. Can’t really comment on the quality of the food because we never got any. They took our order, we sat down and waited about 40 minutes and finally went up to the front to ask for the status of our meal only to find out they forgot to make it. Needless to say we asked for refund and left. They weren’t even really apologetic. Quite irritating, especially since we had a hungry kiddo with us.

Used to be a great place to stop and get a malt. Now it’s a very creepy mexican TV dinner place with slow service and hard to understand help. Sadly, though I prefer to support local businesses, I won’t ever be returning.

We used to love stopping in here for a burger and shake, but about 5 years ago the place got new owners who have since turned it into more of a Mexican Food joint that serves crappy diner food on the side. There are goofy pictures hanging on the menu board now, and tons of flies! The burgers are absolutely atrocious compared to what they used to be. Needless to say we will never go back. Do yourself a favor and stay on Pleasant Valley road until you get to «Bones Roadhouse». Then you will find the burger your heart desires!

This place is not as good as it used to be 25 years ago. Different owners, I know that for sure. Anyway, I ordered the cheeseburger special and it came rather quickly. The cheeseburger was ok, nothing special. The fries were more like french fry pieces(I obviously got the bottom of the bag) and it seemed to be a pretty small serving as well. The soda was also just ok, not flat and not totally carbonated. I don’t think it was worth what I spent, especially since I was not full when I left. This girls at the counter weren’t rude by any means, but they weren’t that friendly either. I very seriously doubt that I will eat there again.

I hate writing negative reviews. I really do. So I’ll keep it short. We stopped here because the boy was starving to death(teenagers and their bottomless stomachs!) I normally get excited at the sight of a small town greasy spoon, because there’s usually a treasure waiting inside. This, however, was no treasure. We ordered to go, and after an interminably long wait, we were handed our order. As we got back on the road, and began digging through the contents, we found that they had screwed our order up rather badly. The pastrami melt that my spouse and I were going to split had become a patty melt, and my son’s order was missing it’s fries, as well as being an incredibly anemic looking burger compared to what was pictured on the menu. Yellow lettuce, squishy bun, way too much mayo(which my son swore wasn’t mayo, but a substance similar to Miracle Whip). Considering that it wasn’t exactly cheap, either, it left us feeling pretty irritated. We didn’t have time to turn around and go back to correct it(as we were on a road trip), but we learned our lesson, and won’t make that mistake again.

Never have been here with the 10+ years that we have lived here. Its kind of run down looking so never stopped but yesterday we really wanted soft serve so we decided to try it out. Well Well Well pretty good, place was clean inside. This will become a usual stop on a sunday afternoon.

The definition of average. The fading, sun bleached paint job on the outside of the building foreshadows exactly what you’re in for. Personally, I do like the place. I have an affinity for retro-style beat up indie burger joints. This one is situated in a rural area I’ve been residing in for about 6 months. I have to walk down Tullis Mine Rd to get there, which is usually damp and beautifully green. So I’m already in a good, accepting mood when I troll in. I usually order the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger. The patty is always very well done, which I’ve noticed some people complaining about. Let’s be realistic here, at a little greasy spoon like this in an area without a high volume of foot traffic, you don’t ask about the quality of the beef. Be glad it’s well done, that’s probably for your health. The bacon however is almost always perfect; crispy but not burnt. I feel the burger needs a second onion ring on it, but as it is, it’s better than the equivalent fast food product even if it’s a notch below a good pub burger. They only have one size for side orders. An order of french fries is enough for two people, so plan on saving a few bucks by splitting. The onion rings are respectable as well. Never order a small soda, it’s a 20 cent difference and you’ll wind up getting a 6 oz cup that’s mostly ice. The dining room is a bit cramped, and people will usher their small children in to drop quarters into crap toy vending machines that probably have garbage left over from the 90s in them. The girls working the register are nice albeit not very talkative. The drive-in window seems to be closed during the colder seasons, otherwise I’d say park and eat. If I’m still in the neighborhood this summer, I’ll update this review doing that and actually ordering something cold. It is what it is and what it’s supposed to be. With Foster’s Freeze closed, this is pretty much all you get. However, North Highlands’ fantastic Tom’s Burger and Frosty is opening a second location on Placerville Dr, so here comes competition.

It’s a diner. With the clasic 1950’s(merged with Mexican) feel, it’s a good place for a quick lunch. The business changed hands several years ago, which is why you will now find really good Mexican food and(sometimes) less than fluent English-speakers. However, they are always nice(smile and the whole world smiles with you). Sometimes I’ll go there for a burger, but 95% of the time it’s for thier tacos(yum!) or other Mexican food. I love their Rootbeer-Freezes(it’s a blended rootbeer float). Always a win.

Neat little roadside burger joint. Nice staff. The burger was pretty average. I would rank it a step below the«Six Dollar Burger» at Carl’s Jr. The lettuce was a bit aged and the tomato wilted. Nice bun and slice of American. The burger was overcooked but not terrible. The vanilla milkshake was bland and had the taste of «soft serve» vanilla.

It’s basically fast food, but the new owners have staffed it with friendly help. The rootbeer floats are good on a cold day and it has a very old-timey feel to it. The burrito my husband got was HUGE too for a really reasonable price!

The food quality was good, and the prices are a little higher than average, but that’s to be expected for quality. My only complaint is the service I received from Nurse Rachet running the cash register. I don’t think she saw the training video about customer service, but the place seemed clean.

I’ve never had a bad experience here. I do wish they had better outdoor seating, though. They have all your basic ice cream favorites. I highly recommend the vanilla malt. It’s all rather reasonably priced, too.

Luckily I haven’t had the same experience as others. The burgers I’ve had from here were always of good quality and the service was average. The«Debs Burger» in particular is good when you’ve been working hard in the sun and really need a belly full. Two patties side by side on a big ol French roll with all the fixins. It’s a burger joint in the 70’s/80’s fashion with video games and indoor/outdoor ordering and seating. I’ve been here 3 times and although it isn’t the greatest burger in town I would not hesitate to stop in while in the area and needing some grinds.

Crappy food. High prices. Rude, slow, boorish help. What’s not to like? The first time we ate here, we couldn’t believe that the food and service could be that bad — so we decided to try it again many months later. It was WORSE. If you’re looking for a burger, go a half-mile up the road to the Diamond Springs Hotel. They’re not what they used to be either, but they’re better.
