Han’s Acupuncture & Herbs Center

Although I’m Chinese (from Taiwan), but I’ve never really tried Chinese medicines growing up. Hospitals and doctors always practice western medicine and I also take all kinds of over the counter medicines.
I’ve tried Dr Han twice now. I can tell you that he’s amazing! Twice I felt instantly better and got rid of the cold and fever in a few days.
I usually don’t go to Chinese medicine doctors, because they usually give me these finely grounded herbs powder that is very difficult to take. They smell and taste gross and you have to take them with warm water and it’s just very unappetizing.
However, Dr. Han gave me pills in very small ball shape, and they don’t smell or taste gross and they worked for me. He told me that I have to take them 3 times a day, and I had no problem at all. This was a big difference from other Chinese medicine doctors.
I just want to thank Dr. Han and Mrs. Dr. Han (husband and wife both are doctors). They are so kind and caring. It’s great to know them and I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

With glowing reviews, I sent my son to get his sprained ankle treated. Not too impressed. I am very familiar with Accupunture, herb medicines, etc.
So with correct positions on the exact problem area alleviate the pain right away with bad blood gushing out from the needles. A single drop came out from a needle and hence no significant pain difference. $ 60 a visit is far too much, too.

I wanted to try this out after the glowing review from my brother. I have been to a different acupuncturist who did a great job with my lower back pain. He was closed the day my sciatica flared up so I made a same day appointment with Han’s. It was different from the beginning. I told him my issue and he pressed two spots on my spine and told me it is a pinched nerve on my L4 and L5. I am not sure how he knew this with just a couple of presses on my back but ooook… Then he did the usual needles, heat lamp and then left. Again, I am not too familiar with acupuncture but I thought it is most effective with some time of stimulation either hand manipulation or electric. Afterwards, the doctor came in and did some cupping and that’s the last I saw of him; he told me to not do heavy lifting (he said it like three times and each time I told him I don’t do heavy lifting).
In any case, when I left, I had the same pain. The doctor didn’t talk to me afterwards, didn’t ask me how I felt or if I should come back or anything. Meh, sorry brother, I’m going back to my usual acupuncturist.

Had my first taste of Eastern Medicine. This place is wonderful! I went in for 5 broken ribs & subsequent weight gain. It’s been 8 months and western medicine hasn’t helped so I thought I’d try this. U can’t feel the needles at all! After 30 min of resting with needles in place, you then get an acupressure massage. Lovely! Can’t wait to go back! I look forward to healing and dropping weight!

I have suffered from Meniere’s Disease for decades. Acupuncture is the only relief I’ve found. My brother uses Dr. Han. My sister in law uses Dr. Han. And now my mother uses Dr. Han. I highly recommend his office. Wonderful, caring people who honestly want to help make it better.

During the past couple of years I went to Dr. Han several times and always had the best results. From my rib injuries to my back pain and anything in between, Dr. Han’s treatment was unfailingly effective, inexpensive and painless! What ever problem you have, acupuncture should be the first thing you try instead of taking pills. I had acupuncture treatments done many times in different parts of the USA and wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Han.

I had a terrible experience at another place but this place has turned me around. I’m not a fan of needles and I don’t feel any pain when they do it, the massage is great and I get cupping when necessary.

Great place — very kind and in tune with what your body needs. Love coming here! My only and I mean only negative is that the walls are thin so you can sometimes hear outside noise in the waiting room or other rooms– but they have soothing music to try to mask it. Overall I have been coming here for 2 years and love it and then. The acupressure is my favorite part. Wish I could pay more for that, the woman has healing hands!

So far, I’m two treatments in and it’s been great. Normally, I have a fear of needles but Dr. Han and Grace made it a good experience. The condition I have has so far felt a lot better. I was in a lot of pain before but now, it has improved. They are so friendly and so sweet. Hans Acupuncture has a reasonable price for their service, too. I definitely recommend them if you’re searching for acupuncturists in the area.

I’ve been coming here for a few months now as my insurance is paying for it and it is the same exact routine every time, except now they quit doing the cupping on me the past few visits for an unknown reason. They use less than 10 needles in the same spots, and I can barely feel them going in. I should be feeling more than I should in pressure points that need to be released.
So now I have to drive all the way over there to get about 8 needles inserted in the exact same places and have Grace give me a 15 min back rub which has also deteriorated in quality. These past few massages have been more perfunctory than anything else.
I’ve been seeing acupuncturists for over 10 years, and know what type of quality to expect. They don’t even ask you if the needles are in right, or if they should go further/​deeper/​larger needles. All in all, don’t think I’ll be coming back here after my sessions expire.

I was blown away by their customer service and attention to the client. I called in on a Sunday after I had been laying in bed in pain all morning. My sciatica has been flaring up after I have been recovering from knee surgery. They took me in 30 mins later at their Brea location. Grace held my hand during the inserting of the needles, which was so sweet since it was my first time. You barely feel a thing. The acupuncture massage was heavenly and felt tension and pain release from my tight nerves. Already have another apt for today! Check them out for sure.

Highly recommend Dr Han, especially for those who like me, who fear needles to death. Dr. Han is very good and you wont feel a thing when he inject the needles. he was done before I even realized.

I was as skeptical of Eastern Medicine as they cone but after exhausting all efforts in Western Medicine only to be met with endless prescription with no results, I decided to give Eastern Medicine a try. My first few experiences at another place (not at Dr. Han’s) helped me understand the foundation of Eastern Medicine but were disappointing due to poor service and an uneasy feeling that I was being conned (and ripped off with some holistic medicine nonsense). Then I found Han’s Acupuncture through Unilocal.I am so glad I did.
Dr. Han was patient and non-​judgmental from our first meeting. He listened to my concerns and laid out a plan in addressing each of my issues. He also was very honest and managed my expectations. I do not feel like I am being pushed products or services I don’t need or being tricked in a way that is all to common when Westerners try to profit from Eastern Medicine. Han’s Acupuncture does acupuncture and acupressure. None of that extra frou frou «holistic» stuff that makes you seriously question your common sense. As a side note to that, now that I am expert in Eastern Medicine ;), I don’t feel like more needles necessarily equates to better in Eastern Medicine. What I find nice about this place is that it is just right.
Dr. Han has remained consistent in his honesty and sincere concern for the well-​being of his patients. Sometimes he even gives 2 cents of life advice during casual conversation — always from a perspective that shows he understands things from a truly holistic way.
Grace, a staff member that is also sincere, patient, and super kind, usually begins or ends the acupuncture with a wonderful acupressure massage, which is included in the session. The acupressure massage alone could make the session well worth the cost, which is very reasonable btw. Speaking of cost, this place also takes insurance, which is helpful if you have to come here regularly.
And in addition to the great service and kindness of the entire staff here, I am pleased to say that I am seeing positive results for health issues that would seem impossible to be helped by acupuncture. As an added bonus, I have less back pain too! I am a believer and will be coming here for as long as I am physically able to do so. My weekly sessions here is the time I look forward to the most in my weeks (who doesn’t want to end the week with a good massage?)
The place itself is not much to look at but like I’ve found with most places, when the actual product or service being provided is excellent, the décor doesn’t make a difference.
In summary, great staff, great service, authenticity, and effectiveness all at a reasonable price.

Dr Han told me that I don’t have to go anymore, and it has been couple months after I stop going there, and I noticed my hair loss problem is coming back. Since I don’t have the insurance covers for acupuncture service anymore, they told me they will see what they can do about payments but never call me back.

On a whim and a little help from Unilocalers I decided to try something completely out of my comfort zone. Work has been stressing me out tremendously, to say the least and I’ve been feeling very unbalanced and irritable. I thought Id try something holistic and just go with it. It honestly changed my life and I tell anyone who will listen about it. Dr Han and Grace are incredible!

I don’t know why everyone is all amazed at this place. This place did not meet my expectation. All those who think this is a good place have not been to a real acupuncturist.
«Doc» used less than 10 needles and the cupping was non-​flame cupping. Then acupressure was just hands moving on back like a school child.
I’m sorry but this place really let me down. Came here bc of the high reviews but wow, what a let down and a waste of time. Never again.

They are so nice. I love Grace. I went in because my foot was hurting after an iron pole fell on it (why were you there pole? I thought you were a helpful cane)
And it feels much better now. She was gentle and did a thorough job. I could tell she wanted to help me and not just make money. I look forward to going back and getting better.
I also unexpectedly got cupping done, which is awesome because I had been wanting to do it. Yay!

Dr Han never fails to impress me!
Recently I developed a really bad allergic reaction on my arm and hands from bleach exposure, a careless accident. I went to see 3 different dermatologists who prescribed me tons of steroids and after applying the steroids it would be better for 2 days and it would relapse. My skin continue to get worse and after about 2 months of suffering from this condition, not being able to sleep at night due to severe pain and itching, I paid Dr. Han a visit.
Dr. Han looked at my skin, felt my pulse like some magician, used his magic «needles» on me and prescribed me some herbal pills. Within a week, the swelling went down, the boils on my skin started to scab. I continue to go back for treatment and enjoy the acupressure massages by Grace, and my skin is 70% healed now, just after 2.5 weeks. No more itching, no more pain, and no more swelling.
Sooooo happy and grateful to Dr. Han and Grace. They are always so nice, respectful, professional and truly care about their patients condition and want to heal. For all you non-​believers out there, Eastern medicine WORKS! It’s been proven again and again for me!

These people are TOO NICE.
Came here for some acupuncture and was greeted with the not so typical asian private practice experience.
I felt very comfortable with the service here and they made sure to understand every single problem i was experiencing. They asked specific questions and took time to really listen. Did not feel rushed and really felt like i got my moneys worth of patient to doctor time.
They start the treatment with the needles and have you rest for a little.
They check on you time to time and ask if you need anything.
Then they come in and give you an accupressure massage.
They apply medication if needed.
