What is considered one of the best courses in Michigan, this course is worth traveling to if you’re anywhere in the area. For starters, it’s 24 beautiful holes with multiple Ts. From the longs, the course is a solid 7500+ feet. From the shorts, more along the lines of ~6300 feet. The course has a lot going for it: the holes themselves are expertly laid out(very technical), the scenery is phenominal & the variety is top notch. You’ve got wooded holes, field holes, short holes, long holes & everything in between. So why not a 5 star? 2 main reasons: 1.) There is very little elevation change. While the variety of shots is supreme, none of them include elevation. 2.) The rough is THICK. While this can be a positive, it often times becomes a hassle when looking for errant shots. There are actually 2 courses offered on the grounds, & if you’re in town when the monster is in, play it. The monster course is nothing to mess around with — if you’re a beginner or haven’t developed all your shots, probably not for you. If you’re looking to challenge yourself & have about 6 hours on hand, play them both. Another point worth noting — this course is pay-to-play & the course is patrolled by the local police pretty thoroughly.
