I sometimes hit this place on the way back from early morning outings to the Pinckney rec area. The coffee is fair at best, though still better than at the gas stations that are the only other java stops on this route. Baristas are always pleasant, though service can be slow; I never bother stopping if there are more than two cars in line(and service is drive-through only). The only really bad experience I’ve had here was when I actually ordered a bear claw. I figured with its name, this joint would make a point of serving really good ones. What I got likely came straight from a cellophane wrapper: gooey and bland, with too much frosting and hardly a hint of the cinnamon filling. I came to Bearclaw because I didn’t want convenience store fare, but that’s what I got. So, no more baked goods there, but I still swing by for coffees. Between Ann Arbor and Chelsea, you’re probably not going to do much better.

A variety of drinks always hot and pretty quick. Such a convenience to not have to go into town for a treat. Delicious donuts and pretzel buns from the local dexter bakery. Excellent service always with a smile. Can’t think of a better start to your morning!

I had been wanting to try this cutsie little place for a while and finally stopped in to try them out. I tried one of their specialty coffees, the name slips my mind at the moment but, it sounded awesome. I tried it and it was weak and not very sweet, even though the description sounded really sweet and yummy. I did not like their coffee at all. A few weeks later we stopped in again and my girlfriend had a frozen coffee, I was hoping it was refreshing like most frozen coffees usually are. This things was very heavy and thick, more like a milkshake and actually good in flavor but, too heavy for refreshing. So, yah their coffee isn’t great and really comes up short, in my opinion and I drink a lot of random coffee. But, if you are looking for a coffee milkshake. this may be the place :)

Bear claw is my favorite stop for a specialty latte. I recently started to get a breakfast burrito as well. I advise you to ask the dates on the burritos. Yesterday I was told the veggie burritos were 5 days old! The egg then gets rubbery. I don’t eat leftovers after 3 days even at home! Would prefer fresher burritos then 5 stars for sure.

Great coffee. Friendly service. Loyalty program. Very accommodating to my picky children who like their cocoa how they like it. I can’t imagine bad service from the women that work here.

Pulled in to grab a hot breakfast drink for the three of us, on Saturday, May 26th. Ordered two mochas and one caramel. I don’t remember the cutesy names for them. It’s a tiny little hut, so it was easy to watch the girls working on our drinks through the window. She knew what she was doing, but quickly forgot which was which drink, as it looked like she got ahead of herself with pouring the steamed milk and didn’t remember which had the caramel in it and which two were mocha. It happens, but the part the pissed me right off was the whipped cream. She asked if we wanted whipped cream, we all said yes. She pulled out the can, turned it upside down and it was the last soupy dreg of the empty can. Ok — you would think that an replacement can would be at arm’s length, since IT’S IN A HUT. Nope. She shot air out over our drinks, stuck the lid on and handed them over. I could have argued but that would have pissed me off more and may my son and husband uncomfortable. I don’t know who that gal was, but with her prowess of handling that machine, she’s worked there awhile, and if you are too lazy to replace the darn whipped cream can after you ASK the patrons if they want whipped cream, you aren’t going to get repeat customers. the drinks themselves were forgettable. might have been better with whipped topping.

Cute location, I loves the looks of all the bearclaw locations and could’nt wait to try the coffee. All locations are drive through and the girl working was great, in fact I think the nicest barista ever, thats what makes it such a shame I can’t put it any way this coffe tasted like straight shit! Had I not paid $ 4.75(yeah thats right almost $ 5 for the worst coffee ever) I would have dumped it out but no, I made myself drink what was supposed to be a great grizzly mocha, candy bar inspired caramel, milk chocolate and whipped cream, it was so bitter and burnt, even all that sugar didn’t help a bit. I did waste the last couple sips and was pissed about it all week. My husband got the caramel kodiak latte, also a burnt cup of crap! I went back to complain, they gave us 2 more for free, but those tasted the same. Sorry, Bearclaw I was sure to love you but no way never ever ever again!
