Nick’s Philadelphia Cheese Steaks

Ordered a chicken cheese steak, a mushroom cheese steakn and fries on a Monday evening via phone. My order was ready in 10 minutes flat. Both steaks were great, but the fries seemed to taste like seafood.

Every year Nick’s is the place I always go to first. I love the cheesesteaks and the gyros here. It’s really good late night drunk food… and the onion rings are crunchy and good at this hour. But for some reason I always order the gyro. The gyro meat is always soft and not dried out like some other places, the pita bread is always soft and fluffy, and they give you a good amount of all the other veggies and sauces that go into it. The cheesesteaks are always juicy and not dry and some other cheese steaks I’ve had, the meats were just way too oily and the bread would be soggy on the inside and the outside of the bread would be rock hard. Not at Nicks! it’s just a good combination. Although, I would really suggest you stay away from the crabcakes… they are the worst crabcakes I’ve ever had and we were all drunk. and we still couldn’t eat it…

Great location for late night food after the bars! It can get pretty packed around 1 AM but the cheese steaks are so good and worth waiting for.

This is a staple in dewey beach. They may be famous for their cheesesteaks on Amoroso rolls… but honestly anything with the marinated chicken breast is delicious including a salad. They do everything right and I have been coming since 1997…

Great food! We stumbled across this establishment when we were walking around Dewey. I decided to get a gyro and my husband got a Philly cheesesteak. My gyro was one of the best that I have ever had. My hubby loved his cheesesteak as well. We will definitely return. :)

Great drunk food in Dewey! My cheesesteak was delicious and I inhaled a a large cheesesteak and a cheese fry. My wife got a chicken cheesesteak and it kinda tasted like turkey casserole that you makes the day after thanksgiving. Kinda weird but I happen to love that stuff. Will definitely be back… but the lines can be pretty long so call ahead.

This seems to be a go-​to in Dewey at anytime of the day. It’s a family run business with framed photos documenting the years and patrons that have frequented this establishment. The interior reminds me of a 70s diner with the laminate booth/​tables but clean. We grabbed a turkey sub and a gyro which were really tasty. It was fresh from the bread to the meats/​fillings. It was fast and friendly!

Delicious cheesesteak! Don’t try to split, get one for yourself! Promise you’ll eat it ALL! Everything I hoped for from reading other reviews. Got the hot peppers and they added a great tangy kick! Perfect to grab on the way to the beach or for a quick stop in the a/​c! Even come in your swimsuit!

Been coming to beach since 1975 and they still have the best cheese steaks in Dewey/​Rehoboth!

Great cheese steak while I was out in Dewey Beach. I only travel to the northeast a few times a year and this did not disappoint. Traditional philly cheese steak with choice of many toppings. The jumbo cheese steak was 20′ and definitely enough for 2 or more people to share (light eaters). The service was good and we only waited a few minutes for our food to be ready.

If your hungry and in Dewey Beach, this is THE BEST cheesesteaks & gyros in town !
Loads of top quality meats and cheeses. Dinning room nothing to talk about but who cares … It’s about the STEAKS !

Everything I’ve had at this place is good — fries, cheesesteaks, gyros, chicken sandwiches. Food is prepared fast, service is friendly, and prices are very good (by my standards at least). You can smell the grease from a block away, which is a perk
helpful, because it’s a reminder to eat food while you’re spending all day hungover in the sun.

As most of my friends know I’m constantly on the search for the best cheesesteak, and so far nothing has come close to Nicks. Not even Pats, or Ginos. Its actually become a game now– «is this better than Nicks? I dont think so. moving on»
My family has been coming here for years. I even made my group of friends drive up to Dewey Beach from Ocean City for a cheesesteak during Beach Week. and they bitched until they got their food :)
The sandwiches are huge, and decently priced. The order of fries is enough to share (had to dock them a star for their new fries which arent as good as the old ones) I wish I could say that I’ve had other things on the menu, but nope. Cheesesteak all the way.
This place is fantastic. The family that runs it is super nice, you can come in and eat in your swimsuit. All around good experience.
So when in Dewey Beach (or surrounding beaches) stop by Nicks. You’ll be glad you did.

This place is fantastic from top to bottom.
The staff is very friendly and efficient; the food is very tasty. I haven’t had a meal here that I did not like. From the gyros to the cheese steaks, it’s all good. The french fries are also superb… and as most people know, if the fries aren’t good, the rest probably won’t be either.
All in all, it’s a Dewey Beach staple, and I always look forward to coming here.

I’m not sure what Gino’s or the other Philly staple is like but I was a big fan of Nick’s. with cheesesteaks in 7, 10, and 20 inches long packed full of flavor, you can’t beat it. We had the 10″ and a side order of fries which was perfect for two. Meat was good mixed with the mozzarella.
Prices for cheesesteaks were okay but $ 4+ for a side of fries is ridiculous. Come wearing whatever — they will serve you in a shorts or just a bikini.

A decent steak sub but not life-​altering. Seemed a bit pricey to me. They have their own parking lot so that makes things easy.

well, if you are looking for greasy fast food style sandwiches then you’ll be happy. I’m always glad to NOT see a chain restaurant but not what we were looking for. maybe don’t get crab cake or fish sandwich but instead go there for what they are known for ‘, the gyro or Philly
