Tranquility Spa at the Detroit Athletic Club

Upon entering the Tranquility Spa at the DAC, you really feel like you’re being taken away to a quiet place of serenity.
The overall color scheme seems to be a mint green, which is actually rather soothing and relaxing. The smells and sounds are soothing and relaxing, as well.
The spa has services such as manicures (& more), pedicures (& more), massage, facials, eyebrows, etc.
I went for a pedicure and the technician, Tracey, couldn’t have been more accommodating. She was attentive and made me feel really comfortable. She offers a cup of coffee, fixed to your liking — the chair you sit in for pedicures has a cup holder. The chair also reclines, so you can adjust to your liking to get more comfortable or even take a quick snooze.
Tracey explains everything she’s doing, as she’s doing it and makes sure you’re comfortable with the water temperature or even your positioning in the chair. Everything is done with careful timing and you have the chance to actually enjoy soaking your feet in the water, unlike other places that just have you basically dip your feet in the water before they go in immediately on your feet. This was the most comfortable and relaxing pedicure I’ve ever received.
The quality in product and personalized care is totally worth the price for this experience.
The DAC is a member only club, so you do have to be sponsored by a member or guest of a member to visit.

This spa is a FULL service spa. I went for a mani-​pedi and realize, sadly, that I’ve probably never had a real one before. The girl was gentle, thorough, and quite accommodating. She even put my lunch order in for me so that I could eat right after I was done.
You never feel rushed or anxious here. I hate going to places where you feel like you’re just the next girl in a LONG line of numbers. It was relaxing, rejuvenating, and enjoyable.
I’ve had waxing done here and the technician was fantastic. They have a full line of body and facial items available from several Michigan companies. There is also a full makeup line available.
They offer Chiropractic, massage, facials, waxing, make up, and many other services.
Never turn down a day at THIS spa!

The Tranquility Spa at the Detroit Athletic Club is exactly what you would expect from this award-​winning private club. The staff is courteous and professional and ready to accomodate your every need. I have had the hot stone massage which was fabulous and the parafin wax manicure and eyebrow wax were also fabulous! This Spa is only one year old so if you haven’t been to the Club in a while, it is definitely worth checking out.
