I had an amazing experience here. If you are seeking something different and exciting to do, I recommend trying some of the things that House of Bastet has to offer. I attended a ballerobics dance party. This event occurs every 3rd Friday and each month features a different theme. It is an exercise class disguised as a party ;-) I considered the event to be somewhat of a sampler of the many fitness classes that are offered here on a regular basis. The theme of this particular party was soca and reggae, need I say more??? The environment is very warm, friendly and welcoming even to a «shy», novice like myself. This class had about 20 – 30 women and 3 instructors throughout the course of the nite. Each instructor was very skilled and changed the vibe of the class with their unique personalities. We were encouraged to bring a refreshment to share and by the end of the nite had a great assortment. I cannot give away every little treasure that this place has to offer, but I will say expect to be taken outside of your comfort zone within a supportive environment while at the same time feeling liberated. I definitely hope to attend again and recommend trying it. It is an exciting alternative to a traditional workout. My concern was parking. It doesn’t have a private lot, but at the time of day that I went(after 7pm), there was ample parking on the street. Note the new address: 1301 Lafayette Detroit, MI

I came across the House of Bastet by a chance. The environment is welcoming and peaceful as you enter. The aroma of incense fills the room and(inhaling): PEACE is in the space. I tried the Wednesday night complimentary yoga. It’s free, but donations are taken at the end. The music is more of an african dance rhythm. I enjoyed having a different musical genre than the typical. They also have cardio shimmy, pole classes, ballet and modern dance, samba, personal cultivation workshops for young ladies, and a host of other monthly themed events. Very reasonably priced $ 10-$ 20/class. A really empowering environment for young ladies and us seasoned adults. Tip: Last door on the right. The first doors are to the apartment lofts. House of Bastet has it’s on entrance. You may miss it if you’re not paying attention.

To celebrate my BFF’s birthday we ventured over to The House of Bastet for exoticise classes. Yes, we were all getting our pole dance on and we loved it. Even though the art of seduction is taught the class is really about embracing your inner beauty and letting the outside be whatever it is. We as women are constantly bombarded with images of so called«beauty». The House of Bastet emphasizes what’s on the inside. Our instructor was phenomenal. We actually participated in the class while dressed in our sexiest pumps. While we embraced our inner sex kitten we also embraced everything about our true selves. This is the perfect way to spend an evening with friends and boost your self esteem all at the same time.
