Wow a serious gem! My husband knew of tacos el primo when he was working at Ford and while in the area on a Saturday afternoon I had the pleasure of stopping by for some amazing tacos! Walking up to the truck there isn’t anything fancy, a few options for tacos and then a variety of toppings(salsa, limes, pickled onions, etc.) and drinks. I ordered an asada and al pastor with onions & cilantro. I was asked if I wanted a pepper(grilled jalapeño) and I happily accepted! The tacos were awesome! Other places wish they were this good. Everything was fresh, cooked well and the flavors all lined up! I ordered another asada as I favored that one. After eating you go up and tell them how many you had and pay. 7 tacos and a drink was only $ 13!!! I would’ve payed $ 13 each and been happy which makes it an even better deal. We are in the car/stood outside. There is apparently seating inside the old buffet restaurant as well. A full 5 stars! Check this place out!

I call this The Taco Truck– My fiancé got me hooked on this place & it’s a favorite for both of us. Everyone once in awhile we take a ride to get tacos, never disappointing. Carne Asada is the way to go-everything always tastes fresh and delicious. The prices are so reasonable and the workers are friendly. We also have ordered the pastor tacos & quesadillas, both very good. Don’t forget to get everything on the tacos, the onions and cilantro make it even better. We’ll definitely be back here!

«The Taco Truck» is what we call it at the Ford engineering campus in Dearborn. This place is becoming notorious for awesomeness in our office. I have been to many decent Mexican restaurants throughout this fine state, but let me tell you that the asada, or pastor tacos with everything are soo good. Probably the best I’ve ever had, all at a great price. I find 3 tacos is the right amount for a lunch break. The guys in the truck are really friendly and make me feel welcome even though I’m clearly not a local. If the weather is nice, I actually enjoy just ‘tailgating’ in the parking lot.

I love taco trucks and this one is one of the better ones I’ve tried. I had two asada tacos and two pastor tacos — less than $ 7 but it was honestly too much food. I might try two quesadillas and one taco next time. The meat was tender and flavorful. The salsas on the side and complementary lemon wedges were nice. My only complaint is there there’s nowhere to sit. I understand the food truck mentality, but parking it somewhere where a few picnic tables are nearby would really add to the viability of this as a lunch option.

Again. Carne Asada — everything on it. Onion, cilantro, hot salsa, lime, radishes and spicy onions. Add the wonderful price of $ 1.50 a taco and you got yourself an amazing lunch. This truck is located directly across from Mi Pueblo on Dix east of Central.

The asada and birria are too good to be true, fast/friendly food on the go. Their cupfuls of birria are decadent, spicy, and overflowing with meat. And their asada tacos are the best I’ve ever had — I don’t know how they’re marinating/seasoning the beef, but it’s happy-making pleasure without end. Their cabeza tacos were ok by comparison, and I noticed there’s no chicken on the menu. In any event, when it’s asada I’m after, I will only be coming here from now on. Get yourself some immediately.

Best Taco Truck in SW Detroit. Quick 10 minute drive from the Rouge Complex and Ford R&D Center. Fast service. Try the Beria tacos and don’t forget to get a cup of complementary consume with it. You will most likely eat in the parking lot or in the unheated building next door to the lot where the truck sits. This neighborhood looks rough, but we have never had a problem there and the people are very friendly.

I have tried many Mexican restaurants around Detroit. Among those, the best tacos, I have ever had are from the food trucks. And among food trucks this one is the best. I would strongly suggest, to those food adventurers to try this place. And I am sure you will be glad you read my review. And yes, this place is easy to miss. This truck is just before Mi Pueblo on the other side of road when you are going east on Dix st.

The taco truck done right. The truck is clean, well organized, properly licensed, and smells great from a distance. There’s a constant stream of takers around lunch time and there’s a reason — speed and quality. From order to tacos-in-hand in less than fifteen seconds, mind-blowingly fast. The tacos start with the traditional double tortilla, warmed properly, and come with a very generous amount of filling. All the proper taco options are available and are all executed nicely. The sauces are quite pleasant, there’s a tub of chilled radishes on hand and they operate on the grazing and honor system. Order ’til your full then tell the man at the window how many you had. I’ll be visiting again.

Taco Truck Time. Of course I was tight on time and chose the old standby, Taco El Primo. Quick service, from order to food in my hand in around a minute, inexpensive food. $ 1.25/ taco, and excellent tacos. Yes. Good asada, cabeza, and very flavorful al pastor complete with grilled onions. These tacos were loaded with meat, cilantro, and onions. I’ve eaten at restaurants in Mexican Town, but nothing quite come close to the heat and freshness of a taco truck. The also had pretty good tomatillo sauce and a medium salsa. Even at 4 in the afternoon there was a line at this truck. This was my first truck experience and all I know is it was great and I want more. Highly recommended.

Another Southwest Detroit taco truck that dishes out very generous, piping hot, flavorful tacos. The menu has all the usual suspects from asada(steak), al pastor(marinated pork), Cabeza(beef cheek), Tripa(tripe) and a few others.(Although no Chorizo.) I found everything to have excellent flavors, correct seasoning, with succulent meat coated with crispy char. The salsa was pretty good(but not very spicy) with a tomatillo and smoky red which added a nice counterpoint to the whole experience. I did find that the meat was a teeny bit on the chewy side, but I am still a very happy camper. This is a very active taco truck with a half dozen people queuing up for yummy treats. I think this place is so popular due to the size and quantity of filling which makes it a very satisfying meal. Compared to brick and mortar restaurants, places like this will change your perception of what a great street food like tacos can really taste like.(Although in the winter, or rainy days i’ll still go for a roof over my head…) Note, we saw one person walk away with a hot soup is a Styrofoam cup that wasn’t on the menu…
