I’ve eaten here before and had no issues. The fish is flavored very well and they have a good variety of fresh fish options to choose from. The staff is energetic and kind. They are in the hood, but keep it mellow. The size could be bigger, but they work with what they have… it’s not a dine in joint. I suggest that you call ahead if you want the most prompt service and not have to wait. Due to the good taste and inexpensive prices, they do get crowded at times, but that is a given.

My mother and I wanted fish, so we decided to try Mr. C today. So you readers know, the people at her work swear by this place, and even her coworker(a self-proclaimed picky eater) enjoys their food, as well. Since it is literally blocks away, we decided to go there. First, I must admit, I have always been a fan of seafood. I do not necessarily have a favorite in this category, but I will eat it as long as it is good. Second, I am seldom the first to try a new seafood restaurant. Therefore, while I may be the first Unilocaler to review the establishment, it usually comes recommended beforehand. The only recent exception is Kareem’s, but fortunately, that was a decent experience. Now, like many neighborhood seafood restaurants, Mr. C is a «You buy, we fry» establishment. That is, they sell the fish unprepared and you can take it home, or they will prepare it for you on the premises. They have many of the usual favorites, including catfish, tilapia, perch, whiting, and pickerel. They also have a selection of shrimp, crab, and lobster tails(though the crab and lobster tails are not on the dinner menu). Their fish dinners come with fries and coleslaw, and they give generous portions, as well. I ordered the Catfish Fillet dinner, and I must say, it was some of the most perfectly breaded and seasoned catfish I’ve had in quite some time. I gave Mr. C four stars for the following reasons: first, the store is rather small. This is not a problem unless it is crowded, and there were quite a few people there when we went. Second, they could stand to make the menu board easier to follow. Overall, though, I had a good experience, and I would recommend Mr. C to others.
