The food was fine, but the rest of this place is a wreck. Not enough room to get around the tables, our server was slow, and immediately when walking homeless people are hassling for change and magazines.

My favorite breakfast spot so far in the New Center area. My experience at this Coney was far better than the Coney near the Greyhound Station/Motown Museum. Although this Coney is much smaller, the food taste fresher and out-right tasty. The only disappointment I had was the Bleu Cheese burger, the blue cheese crumble taste horrible, this is the reason I dubbed M.C.I. my goto breakfast spot, this side of Detroit. The Western Omelette with hashbrown, toast with jelly, and a side of fresh squeezed orange juice. It was satisfying because it was filling, the portions was huge, it taste very good, and priced just right. I tried the lemon cake one afternoon, it was just ok. I also tried the Coney dog at M.C.I., it was salty and the hot dog was too soft. I like my dogs with taut skin that snap when you bite. I will hold my review on the famous Coney dog until I try the Original Coney Island. For breakfast you can’t go wrong with M.C.I. The Breakfast alone is 4 stars but because of the Bleu burger I gave M.C.I. 3 stars.

I got a gigantic Greek salad with(note) legit lettuce/greens, beets, olives, and feta– plus pita and some delish dressing– for a paltry $ 6.50. I also had a chicken noodle soup, which was also great. Our server was charming. Colleague got(a generous helping of) grilled chicken on his Greek salad which also looked great. I hear their coneys are great, too, but I was on a cholesterol binge that day and I needed some responsible green material in my life at that point.

This is a pretty decent coney. They make a mean bacon cheeseburger and give you loads of hashbrowns with your breakfast.(Unfortunately they’re a bit undercooked.) The service is spot-on. My waitress brought hot sauce with my breakfast and I didn’t even have to ask. At night on the weekends the place is overrun with gay party boys frequenting the Woodward across the street. It can make for some interesting people watching, especially when unsuspecting straights not as tolerant as myself crash the scene. It must be getting pretty crazy lately, since they’ve stopped giving out silverware or setting out salt and pepper at night, and all food is served in to-go containers. And if there’s no comedy or drama at hand to be had, they’ve still got a television.

Called to order the Greek Chicken Salad today only for the thick accented person on the other end of the line to tell me that today was not a good day for delivery.(we are only 2 blocks away). I asked«Did I reach Motown Coney Island???» Okey Dokey. Then.

Located a block from the Amtrak station, this is a good place to get some fast food at a non-chain restaurant while waiting for your train. Very basic, very plain, but a good alternative to the two chain fast food choices within sight of the Amtrak station. The fries here were generous portion and pretty good.
