There is another Listing for«Loncheria El Parian 2» but not for the original. So I am creating one. A GREAT taco truck, maybe the best in Detroit, but I haven’t tried them all… Yet… It is located on the the corner of Vernor & Dix. in the parking lot of a car wash. This has become a regular spot for us to eat lunch. Everything that I have tried has been excellent. My favorites are the quesadillas, especially the Pastor and the Chorizo, served with a small salad, and radish if in season. The Hawiana Torta is HUGE and may be the best sandwich I have ever had. It’s a Mexican take on a Hawaiian sandwich, complete with Pineapple! The truckers like the Burritos because of their size and mild taste. Oh and the Taco’s, those are great too. And you can’t forget the Hot Dog. During Lunch hour there is usually a small to medium line. Order first, pay when you get your food. If you go back to your car and your food is ready, he will hit the alarm to let you know to pick up your order. But I prefer to stay in front and talk to the people waiting in line. There will be a true mix of Detroit people. Business people, migrant workers, Suits, Truckers, Utility Workers, Hipsters, and locals. Don’t be surprised to see the Border Patrol or Customs agents eating there too. One of the best tips i got was from a Local of Hispanic decent, when a newbie was asking what to order. He said he doesn’t get the Taco’s he gets the Hot Dog! So the next time I came I ordered the Hot Dog. Oh what a Hot Dog it is, a Mexican take on a Chicago Hot Dog. Pickled Jalapeño, Ketchup, mustard, crema, some type of shredded beef(I think) and the list goes on. One last thing, they have a pickled onion and habanero relish in a tray on the counter. Beware, this stuff is sooo good going down but you will pay for it, this stuff is deceivingly HOT!
