Love this local candy shop!!! It takes me back to childhood with penny candy and lipstick (you’d have to be a nostalgic person or be as old as I am to understand. Lol) It’s not a huge store, but they pack a great deal of candy variety in it’s cozy spot on Grand River. Frooties, Now n’ Later’s, Laffy Taffy’s, Plank cookies and so much more. I see the owner there every time I stop in for my bulk candy purchases. It gives me a bit of joy to take my little person into the store and talk about how it was when I was a child.
They accept cash, credit, and EBT. They sale wholesale also, but I’m thankful they are open to the public. There are not many traditional candy stores left. I’m glad Janco is still serving Detroit and the surrounding area.

I have been a fan of Leddy’s Wholesale aka Janco Distributors since I figured out $ 1 could buy me 100 pieces of penny candy. Leddy’s is one of those old time neighborhood favorites that never changes. The store itself is old. Not in a crumbling way but more so the idea of the business model. Guess what? It works. No need to be all fancy we are selling candy here. No gimmicks, no characters, no bells and whistles; just candy folks.
You can buy all sorts of candy from Leddy’s. You can purchase it wholesale or retail. A lot of kids from the neighborhood come here to buy their candy and re-​sale it in school or on the weekends to patrons in beauty and barber shops. The prices are reasonable, a little more so than your typical membership club. Since Halloween is approaching you’ve got a great reason to stop in!
