JCJB has grown into a movement. There has been added space, more gym equipment, and«toys» added. It sounds funny saying«toys» since you’d think of something fun and playful. But they work. A person I train with has lost over 100+ lbs. in 12 weeks with cleaner eating and going to bootcamp. I actually like beating a tire with a sledgehammer in class or using glide discs without passing out half way now. Pretty major stuff for me. Yoga and spin classes have been added to the schedule. I’ve actually grown to like Zumba/Zumba extreme even with my 2 left feet. Music includes hip hop, latin, and pop music. What girl doesn’t feel empowered while lifted weights and dancing to Beyonce’s «Who Runs The World»? I feel all hype when the music plays(soooo not me. Lol) It’s a cool spot to workout and they even have grocery shopping trips to show you what to eat(monthly members only). I’m looking forward to the Kale Seminar in the coming weeks. It’s great to see people encouraging and empowering people(both men and women: coed classes) get healthy and lose weight.

I hurt. But I guess that’s, good, right? The whole«no pain, no gain» thing, yadda yadda. I saw an ad for this guy in the Metro Times paper and figured I’d like to give him a shot. His prices are reasonable($ 8 for a drop-in class) and wow, does your body get that $ 8 worth in the end. John Cortez Jones is a very nice guy, from what I can tell, he remembers your name and encourages you throughout his class. His facility is in a large warehouse on the west side of Detroit. All the other fine info is on the website. I’m hoping to make it to him at least 2x a week. I have this awful habit of starting something up and quitting it just as fast, so I hope I can continue to get here and work it on out. My first time there, we ran laps, then jump roped. Repeat 3x. We used mats and did some floor exercises utilizing 3, 5&8 lb weights. We then walked laps with the weights, working our arms and then retreated to the mat for more arm & ab work. After that, cooldown and stretches. His classes are one hour long and I swear, that one hour felt like an eternity. But ya know what? I felt good afterwards.
