I absolutely LOVE my hairdresser Nakita at Iron Street Hair Lounge. I have been going to her for about 3 years now and she never disappoints! I usually get my hair washed, trimmed and curled but then recently I decided to try a sew-in. Let me tell you, she hooked it up! I have received so many compliments! She made my new hairstyle look so natural and her curls are always on point! I love the urban feel in the shop and the entire staff is so friendly. There is also a new nail tech, Rachel, who I adore! She did a phenomenal job on my mani/pedi and very affordable! Overall it’s a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend going here.

I’m conflicted about this review, but ultimately I have to say I’ll probably never go back to Iron Street to get my hair cut. When I first started going there a few years ago, my barber a guy named Patrick, was great. We all know what to expect in a black barbershop, but Patrick was a good combo of haircutting and shooting the shit with interesting conversation. But Patrick moved out of state. Since then, I’ve been in there twice and both times I received sloppy haircuts. First time I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt to the guy, after the 2nd time it happened I realized that this guy(I believe his name is Pierre) is just not very good at cutting hair. There is a line between provocative conversation and ridiculous banter. A barber should cut hair first, not try to guilt trip a customer about how frequently they should come in, or get confrontational with them in any way. Iron Street needs to learn this.
