called in to make a delivery and the girl on the other end of the line was incredibly rude. rushed through the entire phone call(which I’m sure is why she messed up my order), snapped at me that she knew how to spell when I tried to spell out my street name for her — most people think there is a T where there isn’t — and basically hung up on me, didn’t tell me when to expect my food or how much I owed… 45 minutes later my food comes. I’m literally three blocks away from the restaurant and this is the fastest service I’ve ever had from this restaurant, usually takes anywhere between an hour and an hour and a half. When I got my food, I checked it before the delivery guy leaves, but unfortunately I couldn’t see that the Wings were boneless, not traditional. on top of that, they were burnt to a crisp, cold, chewy and nasty. The fries were in no better state. I called back and said I was driving up to the place to get what I actually ordered, and the manager just said«OK» and didn’t offer to refund me anything or try to make up for the mistake on their end. didn’t even apologize… Tldr; terrible customer service, fucked up my order, takes way too long for delivery, and terrible food to begin with… The happy’s in downriver on dix is of much better quality, I wish I still lived in the area and could order from there.

Ordered a cheese pizza and they gave us a pepperoni. They weren’t willing to compensate for their mistake and wanted to charge us for another pizza. Seriously, worst place to order from. Delivery guy was cool, manager can’t run a business.

Manager made us pay for a pizza that we couldn’t eat. Service was terrible. Terrible.

Ordered a cheese pizza and they delivered a pepperoni pizza and then charged us for both the pepperoni pizza which we gave away and the replacement cheese pizza. The delivery guy even agreed with us saying it didn’t make sense for them to charge us for both. Terrible manager seemed to think she didn’t do anything wrong.

Service was great! Food was just as good! I saw on their website that they had a buffalo chicken salad. I walked into the restaurant, The buffalo chicken salad was not on their menu board. I asked if they had a buffalo chicken salad, they said they could make one even though it wasn’t on their menu board. Great service! The salad was very good and you get a piece of garlic bread to boot! I will be returning frequently!

Happys is a great little place to get some delicious food, but unfortunately there are a lot of things setting it back from getting a better review Happys is primarily known for their ribs and their pizza, but unfortunately neither option really excells. I found the pizza on numerous occasions to be uncomfortably greasy, to the point where dabbing each slice with a paper towel is a necessity. The specialty pizzas aren’t much better, and the prices compared to many other restaurants in the area make it a very difficult sell. The ribs, on the other hand, I found to be quite good, nothing special and again it feels overpriced, but if you’re in a pinch for some ribs it’s not awful The sandwiches however, are a real shame. The minimum price for a sandwhich is $ 8, and what you get for your money is definitely not worth it. You get a small greasy sub, barley filled, with a handful of unseasonably fries. If you’re looking for a sandwhich, you’d be better off getting more for your money at a subway. The only saving grave for this happys is that it delivers until midnight, so it works well for the night owls. Be careful when delivering because they do add a pretty hefty charge on orders. All in all its a fairly mediocre pizza establishment, with all the nearby choices detroit has to offer at a better prices, why settle?

Best food EVER! Fast, friendly service! Would recommend to everyone :-) I have eaten here several times and have never had an unpleasant experience. The rib tips are my favorite but love all the food I’ve tried here :-)

Truthfully I wouldn’t give them any stars if that was an option. We ordered a family combo and an order of 5 shrimp yesterday for lunch. I’ve never had such awful over cooked pizza and breadsticks but that’s not the worst part, in the salad was a big long blonde hair. We called Happys and was told by multiple employees that«it’s not their fault all of our employees are black». Really? If that’s the case none of our employees have blonde hair either. After our call to Happy’s they called back twice the second call was manager Tony. Tony apologized and offered to re deliver our order the next day. Called back to Happy’s this afternoon to reorder our Family Combo and Shrimp at 12:30pm and was told by a female employee that Tony wouldn’t be in for another hour and a half to two hours that we needed to call back for lunch then. She said she knew nothing about our order yesterday. So in a nutshell thanks to Happy’s we had no lunch two days in a row. We work for a major hospital system Downtown and we frequently order pizza for everything from birthdays, showers, employee gatherings or just because and we will share our experience with the other departments. Happy’s will no longer see our business.

I am a manager at a business in the area. When I need food for a meeting I can easily turn to Happy’s! I had a great experience with the store mansger when I called to order. I had not ordered for a large group before and she helped me figure out how much I needed and the best deal for my budget. Even better is that there are more choices than the usual pizza. The salad, wings bread and pop all rounded out my order. They offer delivery which is good and when I have time to pick it up myself there are no worries because there is ample, convenient parking. The staff enjoyed it so much they often order it for lunch now. A big hit was the boneless wings and the cheesy bread… and as always… pizza! We will keep ordering from here.

Unbelievably rude service. The girl who answered the phone was literally talking over me to someone else and then was short with me when she didn’t catch part of my order. I called back to check on the order(because after the call, I realized she never took my apartment number or phone number) and I said I was calling back about an order I placed about an hour ago, and I wanted to ask if they had my number, the girl interrupted me to say«actually it was 44 minutes ago ma’am.» While the pizza is not bad, why deal with people that awful?

This is my first time in Detroit. My boyfriend recommended Happy’s Pizza. The New Center area does not have many options when it comes to restaurants and we chose convenience over venturing out for something to eat. The review: DOORDER the Jalapeño Poppers and Happy Honey BBQ wings, both were very tasty and not greasy!!! DONOT order I repeat DONOT order the Spicy Hawaiian Deep Dish pizza, the Philly Cheesesteak Sub, or Grilled Chicken Salad. My Philly Cheesesteak(I call it that loosely because from my understanding PCS is Provolone cheese, bell peppers, onions, mayo, steak no lettuce and tomato included) had NOTASTE whatsoever. The pizza was even worst, a bigger disappointment than the PCS. The pizza was overdone. If it weren’t for the«spicy» sausage the pizza would have NOTASTE!!! The pizza I received was nothing like the mouth-watering description in the menu. It looked bland(no color because it was lacking the pineapple, ham, jalapenos) and taste even more bland for the same reason(lack of ingredients). Grilled Chicken Salad was blah… I ordered it with the watery rasperry vinagerette. The grilled chicken was bland, croutons were bland, tomato taste weird, all in all flavors were boring. The grilled chicken salads at Crowns Fried Chicken in Brooklyn and chicken spots in Queens are way better. Just OK: The fries were softer than I would like(not soggy) but they were warm and taste good. The Red Velvet cake was a decent size. It was super moist but I had better tasting Red Velvet cake. SERVICE: In-store, phone, and delivery were all the same. The men and the woman were polite through and through and service was fast.

Rude delivery after long wait. Greasy burned macaroni wedges. Jumbo chicken wings dry out and cold. I called place to complain and someone said will give me 1 $ off in future order. But will never order from that place again. Don’t eat from that place

Ya ever check out the Happy’s mascot? A dumbass looking Have a Nice Day face wearing a ballcap with Rasta colors? His mouth is hanging agape and my favorite part — one eye is a conventional oval while the other, for no good reason, is a triangle. He looks stoned, and more so than that, whoever drew him up looks like they were stoned. Not only that, but the Happy’s Pizza theme song is a rip-off of Bobby McFerrin’s «Don’t Worry, Be Happy», only thinly veiled enough to protect Happy’s from litigation. Look, there’s nothing wrong with going after the stoner market, especially when you’re selling pizza, and far be it from me to judge people from partaking in a little herb. I’ve even been known to indulge while on the job. It sure helps me to smile and makes boredom dissipate and the time pass more quickly. That being said, you’ve still got to be able to handle your business, pardna. I’ve had a couple experiences with Happy’s taking an absurdly long time to deliver and both times the delivery driver’s eyes were at half-mast and their whole demeanor indicated they were baked out of their gourds. The one called after an hour asking for directions and still hadn’t found us 25 minutes later when he was right down the way. Then last night my driver gave me pizza with pepperoni, feta and onions instead of the pepperoni, onion, black olive, bacon and jalapeño I had ordered. Clearly the driver had given me the wrong pizza as opposed to the time they simply forgot to add the green peppers I had ordered. I had waited an hour and didn’t feel like calling back and waiting more, so I just dug in because, hey, pizza is pizza, I like feta and the one premium topping about added up to the 2 regular toppings I had ordered and didn’t get. Five minutes later Stoney McGee calls back and says, «Hey, I think I gave you the wrong pizza». Obviously the person with the other pizza was a little more discerning than myself. «Yeah, you did,» I say, «But I’ve already ate a piece». «F*CK!» he shouts into the receiver, awkwardly adding, «Alright then.» and hanging up. Kinda crappy of me, but I enjoyed screwing Happy’s over for the times they’ve screwed me over. Their pizza is okay, if you get it while it’s still warm, which is usually. Some of their other menu choices leave a bit to be desired. Me, I’m done drinking the«Don’t Worry, Be Happy» Kool-aid. There’s pizza joints that are better, quicker and less prone to mistakes, maaan. The Dude does not abide.

Friendly on the phone. Took my order in a nice timely professional manner for delivery. Fast forward one hour later… where are my noms? Not here! I’d pick up myself, but manning a storefront myself, I’ve gotta have someone else make the one mile trek. I call, and nice gent on the phone tells me that the driver just left and will be here shortly. Twenty minutes later, still not here. Making other stops on the way, highly possible. It is Sunday afternoon after all. Well, it finally came after a total of one hour and thirty minutes. And it was cold. It looked like it had been sitting out for a while. Sad panda.

I live about a mile up Woodward from this location, so I find myself calling them when it’s late in the evening and my significant other is complaining that I don’t have any food in the house. I’ve never had a disappointment from here that I can recall, and they usually are relatively good about timing. Yeah, it’s not the highest quality food, and I certainly wouldn’t go to them for a regular dinner(I can think of a few places to get pizza from first, depending on the day/time), but I can’t deny they’re good for what they are.

Not a bad place. Our office calls for delivery every once in a while. They are quick if you don’t get them during their lunch rush. We usually have 4 or 5 items and they usually get it right. They have good specialty hot dogs. As I was typing this, we are STILL waiting for our order, it has been 1 hour and a half. I’ve called once, and they said they are on their way, that was 15 mins ago, and we are less than 15 mins away. So today, Happy’s Pizza is not good at all. I am calling back for a second time now.
