Ford Resource And Engagement Center – The Mercado

I haven’t yet participated in anything happening at the Mercado so this review is more about what I observed on first glance/​visit. I didn’t know it existed so here goes…
The building is just across the street from the 555 gallery. It has various rooms, some are for meetings and some are mixed-​use. There was a banner advertising a variety of dance classes and when I was in, there was some sort of yoga class happening with mothers and children. I’ve heard there is also ESL tutoring available as well as employment and tax resources.
The center has been getting some flack for being built right next to the border and on the Border Patrol’s routes, but coming in at end of day Tuesday, it seemed to be serving the community well enough.
Seems like the center is well-​equipped to offer things for children, families, and individual adults alike. I’m curious to see how things will play out.
