Best place to eat in the American terminal hands down. I was bored of sandwiches this week from eating so many for lunch… until I tried here flying home. I had the #3 vant remember the name but it had Turkey, Bacon, swiss, lettuce, tomato and a sandwich sauce. Get it toasted too. Also this will fill your tummy up ! Made the usual Thursday home commute better having this sandwich versus the other chain eateries!

Ummm what happened to the rest of the menu? The usual items I order were not on the list. The Italian sandwich and the chicken sandwich were missing. However I did still order the full montagu and was disappointed. The roast beef was gross. Service was ok, however a friend of one of the workers were having this really loud conversation with each other and they both were standing right in front of each other. No common courtesy.

It’s places like this that make me wish I was allowed me give ZEROSTARS. Service — if you can call it that — takes the airport eating experience(which is already poor) and achieves a new level of terrible that I previously thought wasn’t possible. Was the food any good? I’ll never know… After waiting(by myself) for close to 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge I was there someone came up to a register and told me my total($ 9.22) BEFORE I EVENORDEREDSOMETHING!!! I was so dumbfounded I left and found something else(cheaper, with better service and probably better). Your time is important when you’re traveling so do yourself a huge favor and walk right past Earl of Sandwich.

The original is the best sandwich I’ve ever had. It’s PERFECT!!! I wish they had more locations in Detroit besides at the airport. But it’s one reason to enjoy otherwise frustrating time spent at the airport.

Not bad! Tried their Cobb salad and was pretty impressed with the fresh greens, tomatoes and cucumbers. Would have liked hard boiled egg on it but all in all it was pretty tasty.

Last Friday I visited here and waited for what felt like an eternity to get my sandwich. This Friday I had the opposite experience, only person in line. Still the sand which took over 10 min to get. They sent the egg through twice the bacon through twice and then rung out 2 people while my sandwich was just sitting there, getting cold. This week at least the sandwich was better although lukewarm. The bacon was actually crispy vs last weekend when it was slimy still :( This place has great potential and I’ve had some great sandwiches here but normally during lunch hours.

Are you kidding me!!! This place has the worst service ever! I tried to grab a quick sandwich before my flight but My order was never filled. Without a doubt the slowest most incompetent staff I’ve ever seen. Rude and surly. Watch how many people buy the sandwich but walk off with chips and drink without paying! Never again!!! I’m going back on my word. I’ll be in Detroit 2 weeks from now. I’ll check out Earl’s and see if any improvements have been made. I received a note from the corporate office telling me to contact the franchise owner, which I did in an email. Not surprisingly, NORESPONSE! Do these people not care? I’m predicting watching the unfortunate patrons who dine here stealing the chips and drinks. Always a fun way to spend time at Detroit Metro. Check back with me in October for the continuing saga.

Been to other locations(in las vegas and orlando), usually pretty tasty sandwiches, good customer service skills and good prices. Not this time, watched the girl making my pastrami sandwich wipe the cutting board with bread that the sandwich was going on. Then put my sandwich next to the rag used to wipe the cutting board. When I asked about getting another piece of bread due to unsanitary conditions, the girl gave me attitude stating«this is normal conditions, and we clean cutting board at the end of the night». I have worked in the kitchen restaurants in the past and definitely thought it was unsanitary, just didnt understand the attitude. Got my refund and just avoided a future stomach ache.

GREAT sandwich! Decent size, awesome taste, fast, and reasonably priced for an airport. $ 13 for a full combo

It was OK. Possibly the better choice in airport food. most airport food tastes nothing like what it claims to be and usually makes me sick. This morning I had a long flight ahead and very little time during my layover so I decided I needed to eat. I got their Club and it was decent. I would stop again if in a pinch and saw one of these at an airport with no better options in sight.

My second time coming to Earl of Sandwich. First time in Anaheim, CA at Downtown Disney. This shop at the airport did not disappoint! My Earl Club Sandwich was so so good! Perfect before the flight to Arizona. The ingredients were fresh and the bread is some of the best I’ve ever had on a sandwich! The girl working there was by herself, but she was busting her butt to get the sandwiches out hot and ready! Great job girl, this San D-A-Gon was hungry! As far as foodies go, not to shabby for airport food, and GREATPRICE!

I really enjoy this place, and about 1pm every Friday afternoon you can find me… standing in line… Veggie Sandwich, no onions, toasted… and scoop the bread! The manager and several the employees always greet me… they might not know my name, but they all know my sandwich! This is a quick deli meal, and everything I have had has been very good! If you think you are getting gourmet in 3 ½ minutes at the airport, you will be disappointed. If you want a very good sandwich, made quickly by very nice people… skip the heavy pasta meal and stop here! To know your product and be consistent counts! 4 Solid Stars

I first discovered Earl in Las Vegas. I was impressed. A huge brigade of people pumping out some decent quality sandwiches at reasonable prices. I think we ate there

There are very limited food options at the Detroit Metro Airport, so among the limited options The Earl of Sandwich stands out as a pretty good option. The sandwiches at Earl of Sandwich are made to order which makes them 100X better than the sandwiches at Le Petit Bistro. I also liked that the tomatoes here are freshly sliced and the lettuce was romaine rather than shredded iceberg. The toasted Earl’s Club($ 6.85) was surprisingly delicious! The sandwich came with turkey, thin slices of bacon, melted Swiss cheese, thick slices of tomatoes, and lettuce. I asked for honey dijon instead of the«sandwich sauce»(aka thousand island) and it was a great compliment to the other fixings. As other reviewers have noted, the hot sandwiches are on the smaller side — close in size to about a 6-inch sandwich at Subway. Also, the beverages are not very cold since they’re in an open refrigerated section(rather than a fridge). I’d recommend picking up a cold beverage elsewhere.
