Quack, quack, quack Mr. Ducksworth! Ducks in the kitchen, ducks in the bathroom, in the bedroom, in the backyard… But it is an urban duck farm. Spent a long weekend here on a first time visit to Detroit. Found it on airbnb at a great rate for how large the house and property are. It’s fully accommodating with three bedrooms, 1.5 baths, full kitchen, cable living room, and other large quarters. As a guest in the house you are welcome to enjoy the ducks and the farm, just don’t chase them. It’s fairly huge. The other surprise is MegaDog or Meg for short. Meg serves as the ducks keeper and is highly friendly to where you are welcome to invite Meg in the house even though Meg alone is the size of a house. During introductions the house and farm keeper, Suzanne, says Meg is 18 to which I honestly replied… years. And yeah… no! Biggest, yet gentle, «puppy» I’ve come across. Also on the farm is a BBQ area with plenty of grills at one’s convenience. Again had I had more time and warmer weather a lunch cookout would’ve been in order… maybe some duck. Jokes! Neighborhood wise I would hope that people wouldn’t let the area deter them. The house is secure and Suzanne lives directly next door. We came and went at all hours without concern. You just have to keep in mind it’s Detroit. Not a knock just a fact. Detroit is a sight and The Duck Inn is an even better site.
