Stunning. A Reminder of Detroit’s Hay Day. Architectural Bliss.
The Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament is the most beautiful church I’ve ever been to. Located in the Boston Edison neighborhood of Detroit, this church is one that is not to be missed. The stain glass and sheer magnitude of the high ceilings and open lighting, once inside, will leave you in awe. My best friend had her wedding here this past weekend and it was truly something special. Although I’m not Catholic and the ritualistic mass services make me a bit queasy, the Father of this perish, was very relate-​able and down to Earth. He seems to be holding the fort down well.
This cathedral should be on everyone’s itinerary when visiting Detroit. With it being in the Historic Boston Edison Neighborhood and not far from the Fisher Theater/​Building, it’s an easy stop a few blocks from the more visited sites in the D.
