Capuchin Soup Kitcnen Conner Kitchen

Capuchin feeds roughly 100+ people lunch on the weekends and offers dinner as well. Volunteering here was a good experience and I learned alot about the organization on the east side of Detroit. The volunteer coordinator has been there over 40 years, so it must be a great place to work for. The staff was really nice and the food served covered all of the major food groups. There are people from all different backgrounds that come to the soup kitchen including those who may not be homeless however may need a hot meal. Families with children, substance abusers, homeless individuals and others are all welcomed into Capuchin with open, nonjudgmental arms. I learned how to use a commercial dishwasher without destroying the place. It was a cool experience and I would definitely recommend it to others and go back.
